Review Johnny Rocco's - St. Catharines

The ambience was really very unique and if you're visiting St.Catherine's it is a must location to visit. Staff was extremely friendly and hospitable, unfortunately the meals proved itself to be a tad bit mediocre. For instance, we ordered a fettuccine alfredo, but were served a penne without an justification and the consistency of the sauce was not thin enough but rather runny. We had been disappointed yet tired as we had driven over an hour to make our reservations! Nevertheless we hope to visit again, perhaps a second visit will be a bit more appetizing! It is a family friendly restaurant and very large one at that, you can definitely host large groups if you are looking for a place!

The food was good, the calzone was more than large enough for two people. Everything tasted good in the service was nice. I had actually thought there would be a bit more ambiance, dimly lit, as the building and Inn itself is so beautiful, and found it to be a bit like a "chain" restaurant. The music that was being played was terrible thankfully wasn't too loud but certainly didn't help. Overall it was okay.

the quality of food has gone down so much in the past year sadly. why are they putting so much olive oil on a already super thin pizza? they didn’t do this before and now it’s made their pizzas inedible. I dined in not too long ago and same thing the pizza was drenched in oil that all the cheese and sauce just falls right off.. Spent $20 on this and a cesar salad for lunch and im very disappointed. please please please go back to your old way of making pizzas those were the best!

Went in without a reservation on a Friday night. We were seated right away. Our server was fantastic. The restaurant was very busy with large parties. However our server was very attentive to all her tables. We received our drinks quickly. She was very knowledgeable about gluten which made me feel safe. Our food came out in good time and it was amazing. Fantastic meal and experience!

I wish I could give a review with negative stars! We have been taking our kids to Jonny Roccos ever since they opened.  Today on my sons birthday they asked for Jonny Roccos. We ordered chicken penne and a pizza for them.  The food arrived and we received the pizza but along with it was an order of penne with meatballs and one meatball looked half eaten.  It looked like a take out container filled with someone's leftovers.  We called the restaurant only to be told by Sarah the manager that "we cannot do anything with the 3rd party, so you need to call skip the dishes".  We then asked if they would not take ownership of the food they cooked and they said "no you need to contact skip the dishes".  If this is your position when the community is trying to support you in a pandemic, then your restaurant does not deserve the support!

Very good lively atmosphere in a historic building. The drinks are great (try the Moscow Mule) and the food was also very good. I enjoyed the rice balls and the pizza (the Calabrese pizza was amazing-- best thing we had). Sadly the burger was meh & the parmesan chips that were the side were way too salty to enjoy. I did notify the server and I though I would be comped for them because we returned the full basket, but she only offered to tell the kitchen. Other than than that it was a great night with great atmosphere and top notch service from Katie-- she is a sweetheart.

This was our first time going to Johnny Rocco’s for Tapas Thursday. It was so nice to have so many choices and everything that we ordered was delicious!

Decent food. Portions kinda small so bigger guys like me feel we should eat two entrés. Menus was kind of confusing if some stuff would have spaghetti included or not and still have $$ beside the options so was kinda weird. Other wise good. Tasted good. The veal parmigiana was kinda average. Good. But nothing to write home about. Try more of the specialty pastas those are pretty good

Fantastic meal! We had pizza, veal parmigiana, and steak. All to die for! ...oh and the calamari, so tender. Knowledgeable waitress on the wine list. Great night. Thanks 🙏

Love Johnny Rocco's! Located in a beautiful stone building, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. There are good gluten free options, including dessert. Plenty of free parking. Highly recommend Johnny Rocco's.

We made a last minute reservation after our Hockey team won the Silver Stick. The management and staff were happy to accommodate a party of 50 with 45 minutes notice. The service was excellent and the food was even better! Highly recommend them if you have a function!

It was my first time at Johnny Rocco's yesterday and I absolutely loved the food, the experience and the service!!! Definitely recommend the parmesan chips, mushroom ravioli and their Margherita pizza!!!

Had lunch there today. The mushroom ravioli was delicious. Marlo, our waitress was excellent. We had dessert as well and they were great. My only negative is, could you not put some bread or buns on the table? It would be so much more welcoming as the ravioli didn't come with a salad.

We ran an event through Johnny Rocco's and were very happy with the space. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. On hearing that one of my staff was vegan and gluten free, they immediately made a pizza that fit her dietary needs, totally unprompted. If you're looking to host an event, definitely consider them.

We were told we might have to wait a little. That their were only a couple people ahead of us, we waited for almost an hour. We got a nice tall table. The service was great. The rice balls, garlic bread with cheese and chips were great to share. I was disappointed that we were not given a children's menu. My 10 year old ordered off the regular menu but then my 14 year old was offered a kids pizza ???? Our baked penne and chicken was nice and hot. Another disappointment was when we ordered our desserts we told the server we were celebrating two birthday's. Thought they might give us a free desert or entrée, but sadly no. Our bill was quite high for a family of 4. Might go back with other adults, but not with our kids.

Had my birthday dinner for two here last night. It was super busy but we had a seat at the bar and had a drink while taking in the atmosphere. We had a table within 20 minutes. The food was fantastic - excellent rice balls, eggplant parm and mushroom ravioli. I was so disappointed that we didn't have room for their excellent cannoli :( Next time for sure! Generous portions and reasonable prices.

We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday there. The food and ambiance was great but people make the experience extra special. We found our waiter, Cooper to be exceptional. It was our first there and he helped make our experience a memorable and fabulous one. We have more children with special birthdays this year and we are definitely including this restaurant on our things to do list.

Food: Soups ok... I had Italian wedding, my fiancee had minestrone. Bread and dipping seasoned oil quite nice. Entree of mushroom ravioli good enough. My fiancee had the veal parm... again, average. Waitress split wine whilst pouring it, I had to ask for a napkin to clean it up! Atmosphere: ok (table set up and lighting) but way too loud, and echoes excessively. Better then a Boston Pizza but doesn't touch The Innsville. Not planning to go back of our own accord.

Was not impressed with the garlic bread I had yesterday was warm and could even taste garlic usually it has melted butter and garlic but nope . I felt it made in the microwave

Having eaten at real family operated Italian Restaurants was hesitant about going here. My husband wanted to give it a try so I agreed after reading reviews. I got spaghetti and meatballs figuring what could possibly go wrong with that. Nothing Italian about the meatballs just very salty ground meat. Didn't even serve Italian bread with meal.
