Great place for a quick lunch. Stellar food and great service! If looking for some amazing East Indian cuisine, this is a definite place to go and enjoy
Came into this restaurant by chance for lunch today, and so glad we did. The owner was great - made suggestions to my husband who wasn't sure what to get, and took excellent care of us throughout the meal. He recommended a starter called chaat baskets, which were beautifully presented and a delicious combo that combined a crunchy "basket" with chilled chick peas topped with a nice creamy sauce. The butter chicken and naan bread were divine - we'll definitely be coming back!
Every time I've been I always go for the buffet which is awesome, so I can't speak for their menu items. I've always had friendly service and the atmosphere is ok. Their naan is my favourite! I could eat that stuff for days!
Good food and good service! I've been a few times and have no complaints! The staff is great, very friendly! And the buffet is great, basic Indian buffet food but it's always good!
First time experience and thoroughly enjoyed the flood and the pleasant waiter, Prem, who kindly educated me on the various aspects of Indian cuisine. The Taindorri chicken was delicious as was the Butter chicken, and lots of food to share with my son. The restaurant was decorated nicely, and I was able to see how the chicken was cooked. I found the food priced reasonable for the amount served, and would return again, to try some thing else.
So good!. One of our favourite places to eat in St. Albert. The food is always great and the staff is very pleasant. We recommend this spot to anyone.
Stop in for lunch which starts at 11:30. I arrived early and was awaiting my friends arrival in my car. The owner came out to greet me and to me to come in and wait for my friend he will pour a tea for me! Wow we just don't see pleasantries like this any more. We had an amazing lunch for 34.00 for 2 people will defiantly be going for dinner for the buffet.
Nice clean decor....very relaxing atmosphere .....Debbie and I enjoyed our meal immensely...Debbie thank you for the invitation
Went on a Monday night, beautiful decor. Indian food was great, prompt, naan bread was only okay today.
Def. worth a try, great at tentative service. I will be back.
Amazing Indian Food! I loved every single dish I tried. The beef vindaloo was so tender and flavorful, the Tandori chicken was season and cooked to perfection. Large portions and great for sharing. Manager very friendly, and service wonderful. We were even kindly greeted by one of the cooks. The ambiance of the room is great. They seem to have buffet option but was not available this evening. We will definitely return!
Favorite: Chana masala with coconut rice.

Good cuisine, nice ambience. While we don't understand Indian food, my wife and I absolutely love discovering new dining experiences. Haweli in St. Albert was recommended to us, and we are glad we listened. The structure and decor of this restaurant is nicely upscale, but without being pretentious. The food was fresh and zesty, and we absolutely loved the basa fish with yogurt sauce. The kitchen has a viewing window, so you can see the chefs doing their work with the skewers and naan oven. Plan for $30-$45 per person, plus drinks, and you won't be disappointed. A really good casual dining experience for couples, for friends reuniting, and even for families.
Second time there and the service and food still exceeds my expectations. Will definitely go back again.
Delicious. The food is sooo much better now that New Asian Village has taken over. Love it :) The butter chicken, mattar paneer and veggie korma are some of my favs. As well, the gluten free bread option they have is quite good.
I had the food a couple of times before the new owners and it was so so...nothing spectacular for the price. I am now much happier with the place.
Excellent Service and Food -. We returned to the Haweli after a hiatus of some 10 months. Last time we were in was before the change of ownership. We found the food and service excellent. In fact, the young lady who waited on us I found to be one of the best servers I've come across in the last few years. We tried several dishes, all were freshly prepared and seasoned just as we wished. While the taste of some were not to our liking (we try different things when we dine out) that is certainly not the Haweli's fault. And their Shrimp Butter Mesala was absolutely superb . Expensive, yes, but you definitely get your money's worth. We'll be back.
I have eaten Indian cuisine all over the world.... This is as good as anywhere I have been!! Chicken tikka is beautifully seasoned high quality cuts and the daal is fantast
Yummmmmmyyyyyyyy. I never had this kind of great experience before.
Butter Chicken was really good i kept licking my plate even it was empty. service was excellent, the server name raul he is really good and freindly always have smile in his face. i recommend this restaurant.
this is the best Indian restaurant.
i love it.
Very good buffet. My mother and I go here very often and were both really excited when they first opened. We stop into this Haweli for weekend lunch buffet regularly and sit and eat until we could burst. The food is always flavorful and they have a good rotation of options on the buffet.
I love the atmosphere and watching the chef toss fresh made naan bread out in view of the dining room.
We have tried the other Indian restaurants in St. Albert but this restaurant tops them for sure.
Used to be the Best Indian Food in St. Albert. The Haweli restaurants have a very high reputation among the Indian community, and this one certainly bears it out. Their Butter Chicken is to die for! whether lunching at the buffet, or dining a la carte in the evening, the food is consistently excellent, matching the friendly and attentive service.
We have not returned since it was taken over by New Asian Village, and therefore my review above no longer stands.
Savory. I've had the pleasure of eating here many, many times. The food is consistently excellent and I've always found the staff to be friendly. I've tried several Indian restaurants in Edmonton and so far Haweli is by far my favorite. Their butter chicken is sweeter and creamier than any other place I've tried and my only complaint is that I have so far been completely unsuccessful in recreating it at home. If you haven't tried Indian food before, stop by for their fresh lunch buffet where you can sample a bit of everything and find out what your favorites are for an incredibly reasonable price of $12.
