Good food can be found anywhere. Good people are much harder to find! State & Main have great people. Adam & Ashley are of the highest quality. The atmosphere created by this great staff is beyond compare. Whether with my wife or friends my experience has always been enhanced by the wonderful service. Keep doing what you do!!!
We eat here often and have had great experiences. Food is great and good portion sizes. Staff is friendly. Fries and dill dip are addicting as well as the sirloin salad!

The tables are a little close together, but it makes it a fine place to eavesdrop on conversations. Just the other day I learned that all week Susan from work has been really phoning it in. Apparently she's been dumping a lot of her work on Debbie down in accounting, and now it's a whole thing with Debbie.
State and Main has a decent Caesar on their drink menu. For $8 you can get their signature Caesar, which is a 2 oz cocktail garnished with a stuffed pepper, pepperoni stick, peperoncini, and a cherry tomato, all served in a jam jar. For an extra $2 you can get their maximum, extreme signature Caesar, it's served in a 2nd place bowling trophy rimmed with nutmeg, and is garnished with a turkey leg, a pickled yam, and a pheasant stuffed with a Whopper Jr.
I've come to learn that there is in fact an entire secret menu of items that you may not find on that weird cutting board the hostess leaves at your table. All it takes is a subtle wink, or a nod, and knowing the right code words. Next time you're in, try " Gorilla Panic", or the " Zesty Badger " if you can handle a little spice.

Went there sometime in the middle of last week with a couple of friends. I have been there a few times before but except this time we sat on the patio as it was a nice day out. We all ordered iced tea and shared a calamari between the four of us. The drinks came out very quickly with the calamari following not long after. The calamari is the best I've ever had and the red pepper aoli is the most amazing sauce I've had, even better than sawmill sesame sauce! I will have to look into if they sell the red pepper aoli in bottles. About 10-15 minutes after we finished the calamari our food was delivered. I cannot recall what my friends ordered but I had the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries and caeser salad for sides. The side causer was very good with a generous helping of fresh bacon bits served in a neat little glass bowl. The sweet potato fries were also quite good and I am quite the lover of sweet potato fries. I got bacon ketchup with mine and it was good but not really my thing. So I asked the server If I could have the red pepper sauce from the calamari. She brought it and it paired very well with the fries. Finally the Reuben I was very impressed with not only because of the massive flavours perfectly aligned from the sliced beef and sauerkraut. But also by the sheer size of it. I haven't had a bigger Reuben or a better tasting one at any restaurant and it is my go to sandwich. I finished every last bit of my meal and wanted to order the homemade milk and cookies for dessert as i have heard great things about it, but was too full from the massive portion sizing! So we got the bill and on it I had the Reuben for $15 sweet potato fries extra $2.50 pop like $4 and 1/4 calamari only $2.50 with my tip of over 20% the bill still somehow came out under $30! Very cheap pricing for amazing food. Officially my favorite restaurant in the stony/spruce area. Oh and the jars like glasses you get drinks in are a nice touch
Great experience overall. Staff was very friendly and food was good. Great patio and quick service. Haven't had any complaints but needing to arrive early on a weekend.
Food is consistently good. Pretzels, meatballs, soup, Cobb salad, steak, sandwiches, pretty much no bad choices on the whole menu. Service is usually good too and food comes out quick. Can get busy and have to wait for a table but nothing that can be prevented
Great food, awesome atmosphere and our server was amazing. I had the French dip... It's huge!!! And it comes with two sides.. Needless to say I had to take some home. I personally can't wait for the patio to open, it looks so inviting(except the snow). I will definitely be back!

Delectable!!!. Our first experience at State & Main, Spruce Grove was a hit! We ordered the seasonal State & Main beer and a signature Caesar, the drinks were cold, refreshing and thirst quenching! As an appetizer we had the Bang Bang Shrimp and were pleasantly surprised. The batter was crisp and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The spicy chili aioli had a nice kick but didn't over power the shrimp itself. The only thing I would say is I would have liked more sauce because it was so good! For our entrees we had the Carolina Pulled Pork and the Grilled Chicken Club. This place has one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. The mix of sweet and tangy sauce makes it difficult for me to want to try anything new on the menu because it's so good. The chicken club was one of the freshest burgers I've had in a long time. The peppered bacon and avocado were a delicious combination! As for the service it was amazing! They sat us at a small booth within a minute of walking in the door. We like to sit together (yes we're one of those couples lol) so we asked to move to a bigger booth that was just being cleared. They had no problem with moving us to the other booth and after we sat down the hostess made sure to come back right away to wipe the table, even though it was already so clean (the folks before us only had drinks). Then our waitress came and took our drink order, she brought them back a few minutes later and let us know she'd be right back to take our order because she had 3 other tables who were leaving at the same time and she had to clear up with them. I thought that was especially thoughtful, sometimes a person can feel like their forgotten about in between the drinks being brought out and the food order being taken. Just that small consideration made us feel like a valued customer. Our food came out in perfect timing with enough time to finish our appetizer before our entrees arrived. She came to check on us at least twice in between and brought us to-go boxes when she noticed I set my plate aside while my boyfriend continued to eat. She was on top of everything and made good conversation with us every time she came to our table. We would definitely come back and recommend State & Main to our friends!
Ordered the ribs and chicken.Had the mixed greens and potato salad as sides both were good.The blue cheese salad dressing was spicy and really good.Chicken fell right off the bone, enjoyed the selection of beers. Waitress was great, overall pleasant experience.
Worth Going Back. Stopped in here for a late lunch a few weeks back. The place has the look and feel of a chain resto like Earl's or Moxie's, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The service was fast and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food was pretty good. I got an order of the fish tacos and my companion got a noodle bowl. They used really fresh ingredients and the food was seasoned and paired well.
It's not a top 10, but all in all I'd go back and wouldn't have reservations about bringing company.
I would go again. We went mid day on a weekday, and it was not busy. The service was good. The food was good, but not amazing. My husband found the cheese on his burger too processed and I found my salmon sandwich a touch dry but very tasty. The sides were all really good. One thing I loved was the variety, you choose two sides and they go beyond the usual fries or salad. There are fries, salad, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, potato salad and cornbread to choose from and I am probably forgetting some options. That was my favourite thing about dining here.
