Review West Coast Grill - Sooke

Very clean. Proper soft lighting. Great food and exceptional service by Sasha. I started with a spicy ceasar drink, followed by the Asparagus and arugula ceasar salad. Then did the chowder followed by a double Pacific Cod Fish n chips and finally finished with their fresh made mango sorbet.

The Sun seekers oysters were out of this world. Some of the very best we have had. The three sauces that came with them are fabulous too. The other dishes are solid: west coast chowder and the Caesar salad. The breads, garlic and plain baguette, are both surprisingly good. The view is unbeatable

Beautiful view and memorable servers. We were slightly disappointed that breakfast ended at 11:30 however their lunch menu made up for it.

Excellent fresh food prepared with incredibly skill. The seafood pot was delicious and easy to eat. The value for the price was very very good—it felt like a fine dining experience for the same price as a meal at Earls, which has far worse quality all around. The atmosphere is really nice with a wood interior and friendly staff. Best experience we had in Sooke hands down, definitely pay it a visit if you’re looking for a local, high quality, reasonably-priced dinner spot!

It was the first sunny day in weeks, warm, and just gorgeous. So, we decided to enjoy the weather and our breakfast at the West Coast Grill. We ordered two classic breakfast and added sausage. I was pleased to see that the sausage was a patty. It was heavily spiced and we kept burping the spice all day. The service was slower than expected since they weren't really that busy. But it was a nice space to enjoy the sunshine and outdoors.

Recommend. Amazing food. We got the halibut, lamb shank, chocolate torte..also recommend the mocktails Great service by Madison. Nice atmosphere.

Had a fabulous dinner at this restaurant! We were a group of six - our server Tanya was lovely and incredibly accommodating to one of our members’ dietary restrictions. We all loved our meals and can’t wait to eat here again!

Excellent excellent!! I can’t say enough about this place! GORGEOUS views and the seafood was out of this world. Best halibut I’ve ever had. Our server was awesome!!! She even took many pictures of us. My husband and I want to come back and stay at the hotel. The decor was unbelievable

The location is fantastic, the food is great and the service is very nice. We had the 3 course meal set menu, and there was so much for that we couldn't finish.

Loved this restaurant. We traveled from Victoria to Sooke for some hikes and stopped off at the West Coast Grill for lunch. We were sitting on the patio, with a great view of the water. The food was excellent, we shared a bottle of wine, and had great service from Karen. Karen was wonderful, and shared information about her cats, we really enjoyed the service, the food, and the environment. Highly recommended.

Great food and service. We had 2 young kids with us and the food options were great for them and had some healthy choices. Portion sizes were big (especially for the kids!) but reasonably priced given the great views and quality of the restaurant in general. All staff were strictly following Covid guidelines and making sure everything was well cleaned. We loved it and went back again the next day and weren’t disappointed. Highly recommended if you’re in Sooke, especially with kids.

We went to West Coast Grill for my grandpa's 87th birthday on August 27th. I don't remember our server's name... but she was super nice, very attentive and great with the kids! We told her it was his birthday and she had the kitchen write happy birthday on his dessert plate and she put sparklers in his dessert and she sang happy birthday with us. His health is failing and he's in early stages of dementia so we don't know how much time we have. We really appreciate how she helped to make his birthday special, thank you! Thank you to the cooks for making us all delicious dinners and amazing desserts and to the bartenders for the wonderful drinks!

I can't rate this place highly enough. We stayed in the hotel that it is attached to. The service was first class. The decor was delightful. Rhe food was exquisite and readonably priced for the quality.

Stopped in for a bite at this great little spot inside the hotel and was blown away by the burger i had. i’ve had plenty of hotel burgers but this one took the cake as the best burger (not just hotel burger, but burger burger) i’ve ever had. the 7oz patty was beautifully seasoned, the smoked cheese was smoked by a god? the arugula? fresher than my outfit at my sisters wedding. the bun? must have been baked that day. service was excellent, great atmosphere. my only wish was that i lived in sooke so i could visit everyday.

Fantastic food, drinks and service. I had the calamari and tuna burger and both were excellent in both taste and presentation. The drinks were also top notch and the service was kind and attentive. This was my one night out by myself on a 9 day trip with the kids and I picked the right place!

One of the best restaurants in Sooke, located inside the Oceanfront Resort. The food and service were amazing. Went here for brunch and dinner and both times I was impressed with the quality of the food. Flavours were also on point. Best try to get a seat by a window or on the patio so you can enjoy the beautiful views this place has to offer while enjoying the amazing food this place also offers.

Had a great lunch experience here today. We had a nice view of the waterfront from our table and the food was delicious. We both had the mussel and clam hot pot. I had the Thai Green Curry sauce and my friend had the spicy chipolte sauce. Service was good and was nice and relaxing atmosphere. I came back here for the weekend with my husband and we had a delicious dinner, lunch and dinner. We had the mussels and clams and the Moa Bowl for dinner and the Tuna Club Sandwich for lunch which was delicious!

We stayed at the Prestige Resort in Sooke this weekend and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the West Coast Grill. It was a special weekend because our son turned one year old! The staff was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Our family tasted a wide variety of the food including the whole dungeoness crab, the crab mac and cheese, the cedar wrapped salmon and the fusilli pasta dish. Amazing and so delicious! They allowed us to use the Sunday brunch buffet area to set up a cake "smash" area for out little man and were thoroughly entertained with it :) I will always recommend the West Coast Grill and will be happy to return again and again!

Worst food ever! Salad was wilted and warm served with no dressing. The server got our order wrong and did not apologize. We waited for over an hour for our food to come out. The food and service at 17 mile pub is 150% better. Not worth the time nor the money. As a local, I am so disappointed.

Went for the Sunday buffet today. It's supposed to start 9 but they didn't bring out food till 9:20. We were there till 10. Only half the food came out of the kitchen & what was out was just ok. Nothing great at all. Omelet cook didn't show up till 9:45ish. I had to get my own water at the bar as the waitress acted like we were invisible. It's not worth the $25 per plate at all.

Cedar wrapped sockeye salmon with maple glaze is quite likely the best salmon I’ve ever eaten! It was delish & cooked to perfection. We have enjoyed several meals here as we have family who live in the area. This is our go to restaurant for family & guests and we will return.

I booked Mother's Dauy Brunch for 6. Some how I booked it for a different location. The staff put together a table for us and gave us top notch service and we had the most amazing food. We love it there and this proves why.

We have tried you guys over and over again and the service is just very inattentive 90% of the time. Having to get up and refill my own water, overdone food, almost felt like she was avoiding our table. I think today was the last time, sorry I don't think we will be back.

While on vacation in Sooke, we were taken to this restaurant for a evening out. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. We both had the salmon and it was fantastic. We would definitely go there again.

The food was very good, the service staff were excellent and the location was superb....will we return ? absolutly yes !

Great food...love eating there. Only gave 4 stars cause What i didnt like was being charged $30 for eggs benny. I will not be back for sunday brunch. Too expensive after already dropping over $100 at the snowball event.

The restaurant is very upscale but casual feeling. The dinner menu is fantastic. The food was very fresh and came out in a very timely manner. The wait staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and very efficient. We stayed at the hotel 3 nights and ate dinner at the hotel restaurant every night, why leave your hotel when the food and service are so wonderful? The bar staff, Murdock in particular, made you feel at home and as if you were hanging out with a friend but was also very professional. He went out of his way to ensure our comfort and happiness. Not to mention he makes some of the best mixed drinks we have had! We loved the Prestige Oceanfront resort and the West Coast Grill!

Sunday brunch is excellent; fresh; and a gorgeous atmosphere. Service is wonderful!

Won a $25 gift card so I drove out for lunch. Got a crispy chicken sandwich with half fries and half salad. The salad was wilted and not fresh, the crispy chicken “breast” looked like something from Walmart’s great value selections and the water tasted like chlorine. After telling them about this, the manager continued to tell me my bill was $24.15 and the $25 gift card doesn’t cover the tax. So I had to debt $1.15. Terrible service and way over priced food.

Enjoyed half price appetizers and $5 caesars. Great ambiance.

Seven people for lunch and everything was great..service , food , people. Thank you so much ....loved the new decor too !!!
