Made my first visit last night and was not disappointed. The pub itself is quite nice. Very clean and spacious. It's a bit dark, but not enough to be a deterrent. Since it's Tuesday night it was pretty quiet, which made it easy to read while waiting/eating. The staff was very friendly, helpful and patient. Serving time was excellent. The drink arrived immediately. I think the potato skins were about 10 minutes tops, although I was reading while I waited so I could be wrong, however I do know that I didn't wait long. The prices listed throughout the menu were all less than I was expecting and competitive compared to pricing one would find in the city.
Make sure to bring a friend, as even the appetizer plates are pretty sizeable. I went with the loaded potato skins. Five servings with cheese, crumbled bacon, and bruschetta, as well as some sour cream on the side. They're very filling, so I ended up bringing half of it home. I'd definitely recommend pairing it with tomato juice or a cesar if they have it (went in with a drink in mind, so didn't bother checking the drink menu).
Looking forward to my next visit and trying something new.
Good, could be great!. Having been here several times I can safely say that it is consistent. They are far down my list for the best fish and chips but that being said, they are not bad either. Just nothing special. They do all the basic pub fares, but I feel like the menu does not change often. For me to come back for more than appetizers and beer that's what I would want to see. They do have daily specials, an amazing patio, will make you any drink you want and the service is good. Overall not bad, but I do think with the patio, location and a switch up on the menu it really could be great.
I recently visited Smiths Falls and went to Rob Roys. I sat on the patio n enjoyed the sunshine and breeze from the waterfall. As a larger group we order a large variety of food an shared. Everything was made with real amazingly delicious fresh food. I can not rave enough about how impressed I am with finding such a wonderful spot in a small town like this. Job well done!
