The Chinese Chews alone were worth the ferry ride from San Juan Island! They were so perfect; chewy, molasses-y, date-y...I don't even know what all they put in those little morsels but they are exquisite.

Your typical small town bakery. Busy with locals and visitors. At times, feels a tad unorganized. Baked goods are showcased behind a glass window enticing passerbys to come in for a sweet treat peek. There's a lot of options. Not sure quality of everything when there's so much, but prices are so reasonable you can taste test a few goodies. Not quite sure why this place is so crazy popular. It's your average no-fancy fuss bakery in seaside Sidney with not a whole lot of competition. I think for nostalgic purposes it's a walk down memory lane for many a local folk. Yes it does remind me of the humble ma + pa village bakery around the corner from my childhood home. Sidney Bakery is simple old school. Their signature fritter donuts were big, moist and chewy with mouthfuls of apples not overly sweet but tad greasy. Overall I find it's good but nothing spectacular.

5/5. Those fritters. THE CHINESE CHEWS. Love this place, and it's cheap A.F. A true gem, if you only have a few dollars, this is the place to spend them.

I was recommended here by a local. Loved the smell as I walked in and I knew that I landed in the right place. The varieties in this bakery are unmatched. It all seemed a bit unorganized and I'm sure I didn't even see all offerings. It was busy, but service was prompt and I was in and out sooner than I anticipated. Now, for taste. The donuts were good but not great. The croissants were buttery, good, but could be flakier. Bread was good but found better in the area. Cookies were delicious and many different types are found here. Buns and rolls were spot on, priced to sell in dozens and my main reason to come back.

While on a recent trip to Vancouver Island, I was passing through the town of Sidney on the way to Victoria and discovered how pleasantly quaint it all was! It had a beautiful seaside view and along the main drag, there were a ton of book stores and little bakeries! However, one bakery in particular caught my eye this time around: Sidney Bakery.

MmMmMmM. Every. Sunday. Morning.....Jalapeno pizza pretzel....wowzers. We will stand in line waiting to be served our giant box of FRESH & INEXPENSIVE assorted donuts during the sweatiest of summer days. What I mean to say is the freshness, quality, and care is worth the wait alongside the other hoards of Sidney Bakery fans; early morning to late afternoon.

This bakery has delicious cookies and cakes for very cheap. I go there sometimes after school only spending about 4$ and getting loads of yummy pastries.

A family vacation favorite. The Sidney bakery is a family favorite every time we visit Sidney for vacations. They have great quality food and fast service. One of my personal favorites are the sausage rolls, a good size for a snack and packed with flavor.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a sweet treat or a flavorful snack.

Worth the trip to Sidney just for the Donuts. Hands down best donuts in Victoria. The chocolate dip rings are glazed on the flip side.....Mmmmmmmmmmm!
Get there early, particularly in the summer because they go fast! Never had anything I didn't like from Sidney bakery!

...we feasted at our favorite bakery, the Sidney Bakery on Beacon Ave. It is the most affordable bakery and has the most delicious treats. We had a cheese and pepperoni stick, macaroon, chocolate chip cookie, and apple fritter. Matt ate 2 sausage rolls as well; 1 was mine, but it was nasty: WAY over cooked and so hard my weak little teeth could do nothing with it. We also got scones for breakfast the next day, which reminds me that 1/2 of mine is still on the counter as it was too big for one sitting. The highlight is always the apple fritters, though. By far the best. Charlie loves his cheese sticks from there too. I think we had 13 items, which rang in at around $12. If you have never been here, stop by. They ARE open Sundays!

The bakery was well-stocked but devoid of any customers. I thought it was strange for an afternoon with plenty of people walking the high street. Maybe the reason is their service is still lacking a year after my last visit?

Imagine an idilic seaside town, the sort of old school Canada that you only see in places outside the urban sprawl. This is where you can find Sidney Bakery, where you can find amazing fresh baked pastries for a fraction of what we pay on the mainland. Heck, it’s cheaper than Tim Horton’s in here.

The donuts are amazing. I've had a lot of different donuts in my travels and these are some of the best. Be warned: you need to get there pretty early before they sell out, and there will be a lineup.

A gem of a bakery in Sidney waterfront and a local favourite. Really liked the bakery which had a very large line of baked goods, Deserts, breads and specialities to pick from, which was a very hard decisions to make. Tried their cakes, donuts and meat pie which all were equally tasty and good.

If ever in Sidney you must make this a destination! As bakers we hardly ever purchase baked goods because....well you know, it is never good enough and a disappointment. Not at Sidney Bakery. Always amazing and so fresh. They truly take pride in their work.

Super dope spot, a really good friend of mines told me about it so we set out on a mission to take the ferry and hit up all the other dope food spots but this was our first stop. Very warm welcome and endless options, my goodness🙈 you have to peep it if you ever on the island.🥳

This is a GEM! Have loved this bakery for years. The Foot donut is a family favorite. But basically you cannot make the wrong choice. Over the holidays the mince meat pies are delicious. Pick up a fruit pie for dessert. Their breads, scones and Ranger Cookies are staples to enjoy. One special item is the Rasberry Ganache Cake with Buttercream. I have ordered this for multiple special occasions and always happy with it.

This bakery was the only good thing to come from dating my ex. The staff are unbelievably nice and professional, and absolutely everything here is delicious. I have spent a fortune here and I will continue to spend a fortune here, every dollar I spend on a sweet treat or scrum-diddly-umptious bag of bread is one step closer to complete and utter bliss. I highly recommend this little spot and supporting them, because even if they don't know it they supported me to the ends of the earth.

I heard people mentioned about Sidney so many times but I was like “hmm, how can their donuts be that special”. I didn’t care until I actually visited the bakery and got some pastries myself. I had to say I never had any better donut. Their donuts were soft and fresh and just soooo good. Other desserts are yummy too. There was a long line up outside. It was quite rush inside the store and the staff wasn’t so friendly. But because what they sell here are just so good so I’ll be back when I have a chance

I visit the Vancouver Islands quite reguly, especially Sidney as I have family there. This past week I tried the donuts from Sidney Bakery for the time while I was out on a morning bike ride and it was phenomenal. If you get the chance I highly recommend getting a Texas donut and sharing it with loved ones. The shop itself is always busy serving customers and it's easy to see why. The service is friendly and the food is good. On my last day in Sidney yesterday I dropped by with my friend and we bought about 4 whole boxes full of a very wide variety of cakes, pastries, and, pies, cookies, and more to bring back home to Calgary. Needless to say, everyone back home absolutely loved everything and Sidney Bakery is now cemented as one of the places we must visit every time we are visiting family on the island.

Everything we purchase here always tastes awesome. Anytime we are in Sydney we come here. The pies are always full of flavor with the crust always flaky. The cream rich and fresh which makes buying the cream filled croissants a must. On every visit there is different sweet treat to tantalize the senses. Ate some before pictures taken.

LARGE pastries make these good value for the price. They make “home cooked” style baked goods, like what you’d expect from your grandmas oven. We tried cupcakes, cookies, macaroons, brownie, all were really tasty.

My oh my! So much to choose from!!! Yum! My husband found this gem and we ended taking delicious baked good for the day, the next day, and some home for later! There was way too much to choose from, but, we forced ourselves... LOL! They even have a wrack od "day old" near the door, now that brings back memories from my childhood. Cookies, donuts, bread, quick breads... My husband's favorite is their blueberry pound cake. I had to take a bag of assorted items to try!
