The food here is delicious and very authentic, by far the most authentic Asian restaurant in Saskatoon.
The dumplings are amazing, the beef soup is spot on and we have never had a bad dish here, we are addicted.
Yes the decor is rather depressing but it is clean and we always have fun giggling at how bad it is. The owner is a bit gruff and does not speak English but I have gotten a few smiles from her and I like her. I call her the soup nazi of dumplings! The silent version.
Definitely worth going. I think this is one of the best restaurants in stoon for sure and being from Vancouver I know a proper Chinese restaurant.
If you like ginger beef, don't bother, this spot is not for you!
As someone who has had Chinese food in a variety of major cities I was disappointed with the selection in Saskatoon. It's all very greasy and "western" Chinese. Anyway, a friend brought me to Jin Jin and I am very pleased. The food is great, fresh and authentic. You definitely do not come to Jin Jin for the atmosphere, you go for the food culture.

We had quite a fantastic and value-friendly meal here at Jin Jin Cuisine Dumpling. The owner was very friendly, and was so pleasantly surprised when we told her that we hail from Mississauga, and came here due to having heard good reviews online about this shop.
We ordered pan-fried dumplings, and the skin was so light and the insides so juicy! It came in three flavours - I believe they were chives, nappa cabbage, and... I forgot the last one.
We also ordered a lamb noodle soup, which surprisingly, didn't taste gamey at all! At the same time, I was somewhat disappointed because I love the taste of lamb; however, the broth was rich and the noodles al dente.
We also had the stir-fried pancake noodles with vegetables (it was called something very similar to that). Essentially, you get lots of Korean cabbage, Chinese bacon, etc. stir fried with some bits that are chewy (similar to rice cakes). This dish was FANTASTIC. Though somewhat on the oilier side, it was full of "wok hei" and very delicious.
The steamed bao were also very tasty; again, the outside was soft while the inside unbelievably juicy. The owner came by to proudly tell us how they are wrapped only when a customer orders, and steamed on the spot.
Finally, we wrapped up with an order to beef noodle soup - tastes extremely similar to the lamb noodle soup, so if you order one, don't order the other! This one was slightly richer, I believe, and the added vegetables were different (perhaps they vary depending on what's leftover in the kitchen?).
Dumplings are the best. And previous reviews are so right...I've never felt so uncomfortable with the cold atmosphere. I'm almost sorry to come there as a customer with the limited speaking Asian lady. And she wore her winter coat...lol. I think I'll do take out next time but dumplings were fantastic
This place is great, we go whenever we get the chance. Dumplings and fried pork&eggplant are my favourites! If you can stand the decor and location, definitely try it out, the foods worth it!

The most authentic meals in saskatoon. Dumplings are the best you will taste and the noodles are perfect. The sliced fried pancake and egg is the noodle dish you want. Server/owner dosnt speek much english but will offer order sugestions if you ask. The dumplings come in plates of 20 and are usually of mixed varieties. My favorite place to eat in town.
Mbecks. THE GOOD: Food was amazing and unique, felt very authentic. Authentic to the point were the server couldn't speak English.
THE BAD: The inside of the restaurant is sad looking. Its basically an empty room with cheap tables and cheap chairs.
With that said the food by far makes up for the atmosphere inside.
Last year I spent 2 months in China. For better or for worse this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Saskatoon.
Massive portions, very reasonable prices, and a great selection.
Be prepared for a lack of English by staff.
Went for lunch here today. Food was delicious (once you get past the language barrier). Would echo the decor comments but the food makes this forgivable. Definitely will be back again (with Chinese friends).

The setting and atmosphere may be a bit lower class, but who cares! The food is delicious!! True, bring a mandarin speaking friend if possible, if not, the owner does point out all the popular menu items to those she cannot understand. Must try their pan fried dumplings! To die for!!

Most authentic Asian dumplings in Saskatoon. If your expecting banter or even an English speaking waitress look elsewhere... But the food is extremely delicious. Spicy chicken to die for!
I am glad I am a chinese. lol It was great. I ordered different things with other reviews. U guys might not like it. But for me its perfect. Love it but the owner needs improve. She is so easy to get angry....... anyway want to have good dumplings? come here.
This was the first time I have been here and I will be back as soon as possible. As you walk in there is a chalkboard menu all in Chinese which is a really good sign. If you have trouble dealing with a language barrier this isn't the place for you, however if you don't care that nobody speaks English there are food treasures waiting to be discovered. We had 3 dishes, 2 of which the owner picked for us, an we were blown away with flavor. Their house dumplings are going to be craved by me for a long time, hand made and full of tasty treats, the noodles with egg that we had was equally as good with very simple flavors, and good fresh ingredients. Finally we had their green onion cakes which were out of this world. We will be back maybe as soon as tomorrow.

Yummy dumplings!. This place has delicious dumplings and buns! Best I've had in Saskatoon! Go for the leek buns or mixed vegetable dumplings. Their main dishes aren't bad either. The staff is very friendly (even though the woman only speaks Mandarin), all the food is made fresh to order, and we've never gotten sick from eating here (which can't be said from other Asian restaurants here in the city). And the best part is you can take home frozen dumplings to have whenever you have a dumpling craving!!
Have been here 4 times. The food has been excellent each time. Get the leek dumplings or pan fried buns. The pancake noodle with pork and cabbage is also super tasty. They don't speak english, so be ready for hand gestures and nodding/head shaking. That, or bring a Chinese friend.
Great food; bring a Chinese friend.. We've been to Jin Jin three or four times now and have always found the dumplings, stuffed buns, and a noodle dish called a "pancake" to be very good. It's true that the owner/waitress doesn't speak English and the ambiance isn't great, but it's worth it. The prices are great and the dumplings (I like the boiled mix veg myself) are fantastic.
