I have never ate in but they are always great with to go orders. The employees are always friendly and the restaurant appears to be well taken care of. The crab rangoon here is so good!
We had a wonderful meal here. Started with some crab Rangoon and the coconut shrimp. Best crab rangoon I’ve ever had! The coconut shrimp were also delicious, though the sauce was a bit cold. My partner had the Peking pork, which was really well seasoned...great flavour. I tried the Szechuan fried basa fillet, and thought it was fantastic. Would return!
Chinese food to go from Genesis. Rice, noodles, chicken balls, sauces, cream cheese wraps, beef and veg and more. Flavors are above average, veg is not over cooked and none of the dishes are greasy. Nice Togo food stop
We ordered coconut shrimp with lime and mango sauce. The shrimp was pretty bland on its own. But the sauce didn't improve the flavours since it was so sugary and loaded in artificial flavours. I don't know why we ordered the crab rangoon because I think they stopped putting crab in it and decided to load them up with cream cheese instead. Total disappointment. The pork ribs were likely from the day before. It had a strange color to it.
On the bright side: The genesis fried noodle is always loaded with veggies and meat. I highly recommend trying that noodle dish if you haven't yet. Another worthwhile dish is the beef ribs (on the dim sum menu). The meat is tender and dripping with flavour! The chinese broccoli is a simple but delightful dish. The veggies were perfectly cooked with a nice crunch and oyster sauce drizzled on top.
My boyfriend and I went to Genesis for the first time to try dim sum on Saturday for lunch. It was Great! Service was even excellent. We never had to wait for water or more tea. Food was hot a delicious. Will be back again. The green beans are a must.
BOOK of Genesis should add a 12th commandment: Eat at Genesis. Let's petition the publisher!
First time here to try another dim sum restaurant in the city. Beyond my expectation! Steamed shrimp dumplings got the best wrap with flexible texture. Beef tribe and beef ribs were good. Coconut Shrimps with lime sauce were definitely VIP. Crispy crust of coconut flakes with fresh shrimps inside, the light sweat and sour lime sauce helped to remove the grease. Interesting combination of flavor and texture.
No bad meals here. Dec 31/13 18 people service was better than good the meal for 18 people was friggin awesome!!
Just a suggestion. First of all, I'm not a great fan of Asian food, because of all the breading and high calorie sauces, but my family loves it so when we order takeout - Genesis is the restaurant of choice.
The food is good but I'd suggest picking up your order as the delivery personnel don't seem to know the city well, or carry maps.
I'd also suggest that the restaurant hire staff to answer the phones who have excellent english skills. It's difficult to order when you can't communicate (that may be part of the reason delivery staff has trouble as well - the address may not be communicated well)
Thirdly - I'd like to suggest that the restaurant hire enough staff to answer the phones. Some nights calls are not picked up. If the restaurant is too busy to handle take out on those nights, at the very least, an answering system conveying that message should be activated for the customer's benefit.
They have great food and it's a great place to go with the family or have for delivery. They also do some things gluten free, which makes me very happy.
Great Dim Sum. The Dim Sum was tasty fresh, hot and crispy. I'm impressed. Will definitely go back. Staff was friendly. Place was busy. Dim Sum is served on weekends during lunch hours. Carts with food go by every few minutes and you pick what you want. If you don't see what you want, ask a server.
Best dim sum. When I'm in town I always make sure to go here. Get dim sum. Wish I could get crab rangoon in Calgary
Best dim sum. The dim sum is the best ive ever had, tho on sundays the place is usually packed, so service isnt always the fastest, but the foods worth the wait, i think they should open another location, and the crab ragoon is amazing

One of Our Favorites.... Saying that, there were bumps along the way. We have eaten there for years. Delivery, take out and dine in. I quickly discovered NEVER try the delivery, it's arriving 45 mins minimum from the time you order it, and it only take them 15 mins to prepare. Something to keep in mind. The food is very consistant with dine-in and take out. We order the Peking Duck once a year, I love it. It's always been fantastic. Our regular orders that we love, Crab Rangoon, Shrimp Dumplings, SIngapore Noodle, Sizzling Ginger Beef, ALWAYS fabulous, the beef is much better in the restaurant but the take out is nothing short of tasty. What we did notice in the last couple of years, was the service, there was a time, when the service staff was really lacking, they seemed not to care about returning to the table, checking if everything was okay, etc. Fell really short overall. However what I wanted to say was in the last few months, things have seemed to change, a lot better service, nicer staff! I have a hard time dealing with great food, and crappy service, but perhaps they have been reading this blog. Food was great and the last couple of months we've been really happy with the service!!
AWESOME!!. This is by far the best dim sum. Good food, good prices although the one lady there is quite rude and not personable at all. The food makes up for that. Delicious. I can't wait till next Sunday to go!!
My favourite restaurant in Stoon!. Ive been coming here quite often for the past two years. Of the very very many things on the menu that I have tried my absolute favourites are the CRAB RANGOONS, pork pot stickers, singapore noodles, chicken fried rice noodles, scallops with two kinds of mushrooms, and pretty much all the chicken dishes. The stuffed green peppers are good too. The service can be a hit or miss. Some days they are great, and other days it is a miss. I like to go there when it's not busy at all, that way you know your gonna get the freshest food (there have been times when the crab rangoons have been cold). LOVE this restaurant tho!!!

Great Dim Sum but Service is Bad!. Food is excellent! Love the dim sum but the service is very bad. If you have patience try it out... the food makes it worth it! If you are not patient, i would not recommend going here. I personally will go back cause i loved their food that much. Suggestion to Genesis, Get hot water in your washrooms so a person can properly wash their hands.....

Sunday Dimsum Favorite!. I always look forward to our usual Sunday dimsum feast with my 2 best girls. We usually don't wait too long and we absolutely love Devin the server.. he knows every dish we like; salt + pepper squid, chinese broccoli, steamed shrimp dumplings, sticky rice, paper wrapped chicken, shrimp rice rolls, deep fried shrimp dumplings, and our FAVORITE almond shrimp balls... (yes he remembers it all) and he always brings me the side of hot paste I so very love without asking :) Great food, and nice friendly staff.. very very reasonably priced.... :):)

Very good.. Love their mushroom dishes. their rice is soo good too. the chicken fried rice is tasty and their cashew chicken is really good. Their spring rolls are also something you should try!!
Some Guy. Not bad. Not spectacular, but not bad. Food was decent, priced fairly, and there was a great deal of it.
Good food. The dim sum here is great, used to be my favorite before yip hongs. The reason why I like it is because it is always fresh. The dim sum is not pushed on a steam cart, they are made fresh from the kitchen and brought out immediately. The crab rangoo is to die for. All my GF's has loved this dish.
The dim sum is not 100% chinese "authentic". if you went to hong kong, you cannot find this kind of dim sum. But sometimes different is good. Genesis is Aimed towards non-asian/chinese people
Best dim sum in Saskatoon. Personally, I think it is the tastiest dim sum in Saskatoon.
Like it, but.... Not the best restaurant in the city. My family and I used to go this restaurant until we found Saskatoon Garden a couple of years ago. The price is reasonable, and the food there is very hit and miss. I especially enjoy their soups, but the one time I decided to try the ginger beef and spring rolls: the spring rolls came out very soggy and the ginger beef not so gingery and more so oniony.

Love it!. One of my all time favourite places to go for dim sum! Too many delicious dishes to mention... just don't be afraid to try some of the strange looking ones, they all taste so good! Bring your appetite!
I love it, the surroundings are really dull,white walls,to quiet, great food, the best thing would to be if the design and the location of the Samuri and the food of the Genesis
Former Resident. I now live in Alberta and make the trip to Saskatoon on occassion just for the sunday dim sum which is amazing and well worth the trip.
