Solid Delivery. My wife and I had avoided Tong's for quite some time. I guess it's because Tsui King Lao has been our "go to" Chinese take-out/delivery place, we never had a reason to switch. But, since it was a holiday weekend, and TKL was closed, we decided to try Tong's. Would we order from them again? Absolutely! The exact same items? Nooooooo!
Pros:
- Debit on Delivery! It's time for other restaurants to take note; it's the digital age... give your driver a debit machine! It's a major selling point for me, and Tong's passes.
- Orange Chicken: a great savoury dish, with a delicately sweet taste. It has nice vegetables as well.
- Beijing Pork Chops: Tong's version of what others may calla Peiking Pork Chop, it was also very good. It had a powerful flavour, a nice blend of spicy with a touch of sweetness.
- Egg Rolls: My wife liked them. These were large, deep fried, and hearty.
- Singapore noodles: I'm a fan of Singapore Noodles. These had a nice blend of meat/veg/and noodle. The Curry flavour was excellent.
Cons:
- Chicken fried rice: It was rice yes, but with next to no chicken involved. A chicken may have been present during the cooking process, but there wasn't a lot in the rice itself. Next time, I might just make some basmatti while we wait.
- Gems Beef: This is what others call Ginger Beef, the crispy beef pieces with a sweet ginger sauce a veggies. Tong's Gems Beef was far too sweet for me. It was like eating a bag of Halloween candy with every bite. I don't like throwing out food, but I could not finish it. Even with diluting the sweetness with rice, it was tough to eat.
Overall, we enjoyed our food. The dishes were a decent price, we have leftovers for the following day, and there were some tasty dishes. There were a couple misses that can be avoided in the future, but the pros far outweighed the cons. Tong's is a convenient and tasty place.
Sooooo GOOD!. I think Tong's Wok is my favorite place for asian food in the city. Their Singapore Noodles and Shanghai noodles are the best I've had anywhere. They have a couple of asian beer's that are really tasty - and they can accommodate just about any request. I love the service here. Have gone many many times and will continue going back.
Delivery still tasty. We've had delivery from here a few times since moving to saskatoon and the food has been decently tasty each time. a good choice for "canadian" chinese dishes. There is a good variety of dishes but I would like to see more authentic dishes on their menu though. I've never actually walked in to order or pick up food but have talked to the owners each time upon ordering and they are always quite accomidating on dietary needs and or set menu changes. one thing we noticed...on the net there is a typo for their combo for 5...you do not get 2 chicken fried rice rather one chicken fried rice and one steamed white rice.
Food is decent, owners are very accomodating. The food is decent, but the owners go way out of their way to accomodate you and your party especially for birthday parties. Very commendable service!
We have been going to Tong's Wok for close to 15 years. The food has gone through phases of being amazing and sometimes not so good. Recently, the food has been spot on. I have had Chinese food at many different restaurants and this one still tops them all. Amazing chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, special wonton soup. Only draw back is the lack of meat in some of their noodle or rice dishes (chicken chow mein has little chicken) and the service, while prompt and competent, is not always friendly. Would highly suggest!

Great food and service!. This is great place. I recomend it to anyone who love Wonton Soup.
When It's Good It's Great. When it's bad.... it is awful! I usually get takeout or delivery. Usually we order the same four dishes and two or three will taste great but the others will taste bad. It is somewhat random what will taste good and what won't. I would recommend the gems beef and the shanghai chow mein.
