Hands down, best "bang for your buck" dim sum in the city. We come a couple times a month because the food and service is always consistant. We never leave disappointed.
Great food as usual, delivered my food hot and very tasty! Such flavorful food an always something new to try. Keep up the awesome work! Thanks!
Make sure I go every time I visit Saskatoon. Peking Pork Chop and the Ginger Beef are excellent. Very reasonable prices and friendly service. Love the Mandarin!
Always a great experiance. Authentic Chinese food at dinner time. Dim sum is also great at lunch. Highly recommend if you want quality food.
Definitely Dimmed my Sum, love it!
Simply awesome. Great staff and even better food. The Mandarin has been the best Asian restaurant in Saskatoon for many years.... and many more to come. Food is always great, fast, clean and friendly. I'll never stop going back. I've had many things on the menu and love the peking duck, deep fried tofu, ginger chicken... the list goes on. Yes even the tripe and chicken feet were good. Yes I said it :)
Best of the best. The Mandarin is the best asian restaraunt in Saskatoon. Daily Dim Sum is awesome and reasonably priced, ambiance is real and enjoyable.
For a treat try the BBQ Duck. It is the best that I have ever had in all of Canada!

Please Never Change. This place is seriously amazing.
Let's get the bad out of the way first though. The atmosphere is pretty homely. The decor and colors are dated and washed out. However, the food more than makes up for it.
The dim sum on the weekend is just amazing. What's even better, you can order directly off the dim sum menu outside dim sum hours. The shrimp rolls, chung fun (of any variety), sticky rice, and coconut buns are all amazing. But I would say pretty much all of the dim sum menu items are a safe bet. My partner loves tripe, and this is his go-to place for it, where it comes in two variety, plain or with honey.
As for the menu itself, there are so many winners. The soups are all great. The deluxe wonton is bountiful and just tasty. The sweet and sour, is just the right amount of mix between sweet and hot, with lots of great ingredients and textures. I can't even describe how amazing the peached shrimp are, though a little more on the pricier side of the menu. Seafood chow mein is always a winner, too. For veggies, I recommend the steamed Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. Sometimes, though rarely, they have asparagus too, which is even better. Exploring and ordering new things off the menu never gets old, and we're surprised every time. Though we definitely have our favorites now, and don't go anywhere else when we're in the mood for them.
The best part though, the price. This price is an amazing value for the amount of food. So Mandarin, even though your decor is dated, please never change, because your food and prices are oh-so-awesome.
Hot and sour soup. Since the closing of Total Happiness, this place is now home to the best hot & sour soup in the city. While usually picking up to eat at home, the food is always tasty and reasonably priced. When eating in, do not be afraid of the dingy looking entrance way as the seating area itself is quite bright and warm.
First time visit. , Sat. ni.... First time visit. ,

Very busy place. (the food should therefore be good).
Not disappointed.
My wife and I really enjoyed our 31st anniversary supper.
I have been to this place many time over the years. Supper is always good. This last trip to Mandarin for Dim sum was disappointing. Food was cold & lacking.
In a rough part of town but it's worth the drive. The one reason i like this place so much aside from the food is the kitchen is spotless. Amazing duck and seafood dishes. A diamond in the rough. Literally
There were four of us that went for Dim Sum and wow it was great, and the whole meal came to 40.00 and we were stuffed. A must try restaurant.
Decent. Good food, but some stuff is sub par (kinda blends together in a gross way) most of it is delicious tho, have to know what to order, take out is good!
Best Dim Sum in town. Other dishes taste great as well. I have visited this restaurant many many times and I was never dissatisfied with the food. Service on the other end is horrible. They treat you like shit - never check on you- never refill your water and they have very hard time smiling. If you only care about taste, mandarin rocks. If you care about service, mandarin stinks.
Nice place to try.. Stopped by this establishment early Sunday evening. There were four of us in our party and we ordered the hot and sour soup first. It was tasty, but could have been a little bit hotter, temperature wise for my liking. We ordered three dishes and were also brought a large, what looked like an ice bucket, full of white rice. The three dishes we ordered were, chicken cashew nut with vegetables, shanghai noodles plus sweet and sour chicken with peppers and onions. All three of the dishes were tasty and plentiful. However, the shanghai noodles were nothing more than the same noodles that other places call "chow mein" , so were were slightly disappointed with that dish. Also, we were supplied with an endless amount of green tea, which was a nice touch. Total bill came to $42.
The only other thing I could possibly complain about is the size of the table for four. The one that we were seated at barely could accommodate all the food that we had on it. There was a lot of juggling going on as plates were passed around, narrowly missing knocking down numerous water glasses etc.
It's a nice place to try if you've never been there.
Great food huge selection. The food is really good, but the dim sum choices are astounding.
Decent Dim Sum. I usually go to the Mandrin for Dim Sum on Sunday mornings and I'm usually satisfied. The hardest part is hitting the food rotation at the right time.
The Good:
Generally good food if it's busy. Reasonably priced. 4 of us can go for around $10 a person.
The Bad:
If you go when it is slow expect cold food and expect to wait for a long time for new stuff to come out of the kitchen.
The Verdict:
Go when it's busy and you'll be fine. Don't forget to try new things.
Delicious Dim Sum. Mandarin Restaurant has a wonderful dim sum selection and great staff who are friendly and helpful.
The restaurant offers a variety of traditional dim sum dishes, as well as the favourites everyone loves.
I understand Mandarin also offers a great Chinese food menu as well, and the prices are very reasonable.
It's a good choice - a restaurant worth visiting.
This, this is a Chinese restaurant worth giving your money to. Everything is well made well cooked and well seasoned. Once you come here you will experience the quality and not really have any desire to go back to the other chinese/Canadian restaurants in this city. Prices are about average to any other Chinese/Canadian restaurant but the quality is Supreme. I will be coming here again and again.
Love this place been a staple in the area forever brunch is amazing and delivery is also good great service with fat boy portions been going here for over a decade it's bomb
The food was great. Servers were attentive. The price was good. A very satisfying meal. Thanks to all the staff on hand working Sunday's dim sum.
Dim sum for dinner! The food was very good, service outstanding! Restaurant was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Do yourself a favor and give it a throw if you've never been
Warm atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and mouth watering food. Decor is a compliment to the whole experience. One of the best Asian restaurants of this city.
Shrimp scallop and squid spicy birds nest, salted fish fried rice, seafood chow mein... delicious!!!!!
Great service! Food was great as always, but definitely time to update that dirty looking, old carpet..
