Review Sami's Sunrise Grill - Saskatoon

Sami's is a wonderful stop for lunch. Already full when you leave. That have the best lemon chicken soup in town. Great value for your dollar. We had the Philly Melt and the Chicken Melt. Delicious...too much to finish.

The steak sandwiches are really fantastic. The poutine is delicious and the portion is good for 3. The staff are friendly, nice. The price is very reasonable. You have to try this place.

We ordered food from here and it was delivered with rotten lettuce on my burger. I reached out through multiple channels to no response. I might have overlooked this if the food was good but it was disgusting. I am disappointed by both the management and food quality. Do not order food from here.

We were thoroughly impressed. The service was quick and attentive. The meals had great presentation and were delicious and could barely finish them. I had the Benny skillet. We will definitely be back. May be one of my new favourites!

Great food, great service, and overall great experience. I've come here with friends, family, and coworkers and everyone loves it each time. Highly recommended.

Amazing breakfast, big servings. I usually just order take out from here but I went and sat in not long ago, I think the service could be more involved but it was great either way.

Big portions for what you get. Menu is quite diner-esque, often very busy in here, always satisfied with the food. It’s not fancy or super amazing but it’s good comfort food. Servers are great (but occasionally run off their feet)

After hearing raves about this establishment we finally decided to give it a whirl.
We were greeted and seated immediately. Menus and drink order taken just as quickly.
Spouse and I both opted for the classic Eggs Benny, kiddo the pancakes.
The food wasn't the quickest to come out.
Our Eggs Benny was alright but nothing special.
Three large pancakes were brought for kid.
Over all I wasn't impressed with the food. But the staff were all very friendly and efficient.
The restaurant was clean and while we ate observed a few staff washing tables, chairs and even the chair legs.
I'd possibly if in the area maybe try the lunch.

Apparently we're the last people in Saskatoon to know about this hidden north industrial gem as it was very busy for a Saturday lunch. Luckily, it's a good sized restaurant and there were many servers. I can only imagine how busy Sami's gets for breakfast and lunch during the week when all the businesses and shops are open up here. We had the breakfast special and a clubhouse. Lots of food with each and both were tasty. Service was a bit flustered and unpredictable at times but overall friendly. Will come again.

Sami's II (used to be Mel's on 11th street)
Well, after much anticipation to a new breakfast place in our neighborhood after Mel's closed :( we would have to say we were very underwhelmed with Sami's II.

We have been to Sami's in the industrial, and know it serves a basic breakfast. But nice to have one so close.
!st disappointment, after seeing their billboard for $6 breakfast special, we are seated by 10:45 and told, "Sorry, breakfast special ends at 10:30". (Not on their sign, and really folks...15 minutes and you are new and trying to attract a clientele??

Okay, so we pay the $8 for a basic breakfast, and another $2.50 for coffee...not a cheap breakfast anymore, is it? ($24 for breakfast, in a really basic place...yeah, no). And the food is just, meh.

2nd disappointment, I ask the waitress if the fries are home cut (supposedly they are at Sami's in industrial), she says, nope, just frozen fries. Boo! So, I go with hashbrowns, only to find they seem to be fresh cut, but they're deep fried...I don't understand. Is it so difficult to just fry potatoes (take a lesson from Kelly's Cafe!). And the sausage tasted 'off' somehow. Couldn't put my finger on it, but had my partner taste it and he agreed, something wasn't quite right with the sausage. I didn't finish it. And didn't bring it home for my dog.

On the up side, they've re-done the interior and it is basic, tasteful and comfy. They didn't have to do much to make it look 100% better (not that anyone went to Mel's for the decor - you went for the food!). The service is also top notch! They get 10 out of 10 for service. 8 out of 10 for interior renos...but would we go back for the service? Would we go back for the paint job? Not likely. We used to wait in line for a table at Mel's (and have done for Kelly's too). Unfortunately, unless they changed their cook (and rigidity around the brekkie special) we'd probably drive past next time.

Went here with a buddy on the weekend. We both ordered their big breakfast which had everything you could ask for - pancakes, eggs, toast, ham, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns - and all of it was fantastic. Legit pan fried potatoes are a huge plus, none of those deep fried things that come in bags. The price wasn't terrible either at $13 for all of that, although I don't think I'll get it again simply because it's a *lot* of food. Nice and quiet, service was unbelievably fast, and someone who I assume is the manager even came to our table and asked us how our meal was. Overall I'd say this is one of the best breakfasts in the city, and I'll be back often.

Searched this place up one morning and stopped in for breakfast. It is located in a rather industrial area of the city and off the beaten path so to speak.
The restaurant was very clean and up to date and the service was good.
I ordered the "Sami's Favourite" which is eggs Benny with red peppers and avocado slices and real home fries. My little guy had the Classic Breakfast which was two eggs over easy, sausage, home fries and toast.
Both plates were well presented, my eggs Benny were tasty.
Home fries were prepared from scratch rather than boring fried from frozen. The only thing I can comment negatively on is the quality of the sausage links, they are NOT good nor did they taste good!
I will definitely return for another breakfast and/or to explore the menu further, I just won't order sausage!

First time here and truly enjoyed the food. Great value and taste, the Big Breakfast will leave you full and satisfied. I would suggest trying the pancakes which are light and fluffy, but come hungry.

We were in Saskatoon on the weekend and discovered this gem of a restaurant for breakfast. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. It is tucked away in the industrial area, but very popular I would assume due to the good food, great service and reasonable prices. We will be back next time we are in Saskatoon. Thanks Sami's for a great meal!

Went for lunch today and WOW. I was expecting a regular burger joint but was pleasantly surprised. The burgers were very large, well made, and staked high, plates come with a small pasta salad as well as a potato side. The two soups offered tasted great, the lentil soup was the best I have ever had. The lentil soup was meaty chicken fatty tasting. A person with me ordered the roast beef lunch special and the mushroom gravy it came with was very creamy and tasty, also the gravy for the fries might be better than KFC. The price is not very cheap but the quality of food is worth it. Also the service was great, sassy, and made you feel like a regular.

Disappointing experience. I had the "belgian" waffle and 2 eggs special for $10. Extremely disappointed. Waffle was quite small and thin, and tasted somewhere between an Eggo and a self-cook waffle at a hotel continental breakfast. Waffle was cold as well. Not a lot of food for $10, especially for that kind of the quality.

However my wife had a traditional breakfast and it was fairly good. So I guess if you do go here, stick to the basics and definitely avoid the "Belgian" waffles.

Raw Fish and Rude Staff. I was so looking forward to having lunch at Sami's as i heard good things, It started off really well: quick friendly service and yummy soup. Me and My sister ordered the fish and chips. As my sister cut into the fish you could see it was raw (mine was burnt but cooked!). We got the attention of another service and expressed that the fish was raw and that she lost her appetite even since she only has 2 bites of fries on her plate. The waitress said she would have to talk to the manager as she isn't authorized to make those calls (on how to change the bill). We wait for over 10 minutes for a manager but no one came instead another staff member came with our bills and said that they can only give 30% off for the meal we returned and only had 2 bites missing. Obviously we weren't satisfied and said no we won't pay for that meal. She left and the waitress who said that she was not authorized to give discounts came over mad at us and rudely said "Who said they aren't paying for their meal" in which my sister said I am not. She then said then said very aggressively (the waitress) "Fine then .. whatever

When you serve inadequate food then you should apologize to the customer and make it right for them not you and it would have been nice if she was honest and said that she was in charge of making those decisions.

I Will Never Ever go back there!

Early Riser Breakfast Special (Includes Coffee) - $9.00. Indeed a great big breakfast without a great big price!

-----11 Sep, 2014-----

Great Breakfast, Great Service & Great Value! 5/5. Been meaning to try Sami's for breakfast since they purchased Lil Bozo's and renovated it.

Interior is nicely done and inviting, and during breakfast, they have the local newscast on HD tv's with the broadcast audio on in the background to the point it doesn't drown out any table conversation.

The menu is filled with plenty of choices, and they also have breakfast specials, including the Early Riser special, which was my choice on this visit.

The Early Riser special comes with 3 eggs, bacon, sausage and ham along with homemade hash browns and choice of toast. A big breakfast for only $9.00 including coffee! Eggs were done perfectly as expected (medium poached) and the meats didn't seem to be small in portions or cheap tasting.

My server was super friendly, energetic and helpful with knowing the menu. She always ensured my coffee was filled up and provided me with outstanding service. That, and she's also rather cute too. ;)

Speed of service from time I ordered my breakfast to table was faster than I normally expect at breakfast. Restaurant wasn't empty either upon my arrival at 06:15 with about 15 people already here so for speedy service like that is indeed a plus in my books.

Definitely will be back again, next time perhaps to try their lunch service. 5/5

Great Service and Excellent Meal. Went here for lunch with a couple of girls for the first time and the food was excellent. Bathrooms were really clean that was very good to see it was a clean restaurant in general. Our server was nice and friendly. Sami's sunrise is a place i would recommend to others forsure. I will be back often.

Dissapointed. Always go for a later lunch and I have to say the food is fine, what's not so good is the fact that while you are eating the staff is Vacuuming, pulling chairs around and going thru a clean up! love the place but cannot stand to eat in this type of atmosphere!

Great Place. Awesome place the food is great and the staff is very friendly. For a nice big breakfast get the early bird special it has 3 eggs 3 pieces ham, bacon and sausage and a hash browns.

Food is good but they have messed up take out twice now and overcharged to what their menu says. They say they have a lunch special for $7 but it's only $1 cheaper than the regular price and you don't get the fried do why bother. The menu says any potatoe so you ask for a different kind and they charge you extra. You ask for an extra salad on the side and they charge you for the salad and omit the fries. They charge you $3. For a tiny little gravy and then forget to send things in the order. Maybe better luck done in but I will not return.

Been here a few times and its pretty good. Portions are good, service good and pleasant atmosphere. If you work around the north end it's worth a visit.

Worth a try.. Only ever been once so far for a late breakfast before driving to the airport one day. Pleasant looking, friendly server. large portions. We didn't have anything too difficult just different omlettes, but they were tasty and fresh.

What is on the Inside Counts. Sami's Sunrise Grill doesn't look like much. It is in an odd place for a restaurant in the North Industrial, but don't let the outside fool you. Inside is a very nice, renovated, and well thought out restaurant.
The service was great, wonderful waitress, and great atmosphere. It could be a little loud but it appeared to be mostly construction people eating at this tucked away establishment.
The food was great as well. You got a lot of food for the decent prices and the taste was amazing. I had the Mexican Crunch Burger and it was fantastic. Very well done and a great mix of flavours.
This is one place I will be seeing again.

New Owner. Little Bozo's has been purchased and completely renovated. You won't recognize this place as everything from the floor up has been changed. The menu has a good variety, well priced and the portions are huge. Check out the menu on this page.

Open for breakfast and lunch Monday to Saturday.
