Small, friendly place with an east coast feel. The fish and chips were top-notch, a nice light batter with lots of flavour. The fish tacos were also excellent. A great place to go when you crave fish and chips.
This is the only place in the city I ever go for fish and chups. Great food and great staff. It gets busy so be prepared to wait sometimes !
Yum!. Was a vegetarian for 3 years, had to add fish back in my diet because of a health condition. came here for the first time ever and it was so good! service was really friendly and efficient. prices are surprisingly really inexpensive for it being seafood. it's a small place but the decor is really cute. this might become my favorite place to eat out!
Good enough!. I'm sure a lot of people automatically rip this place because it's sort of a tired, worn out chain restaurant. But we went last night and it was as good as you can expect. Reasonably priced for seafood about as far away from an ocean as you can get. The fish and fries were crispy and golden. The caesar salad was crunchy and garlicky, and the service was fast and attentive considering one guy works the whole restaurant on a Monday night.
Batter and chips?. My family and I have been purchasing “fish and chips” at Joey’s for a number of years now, and by and large are satisfied customers. We typically order the family meal take-out option, but occasionally we have eaten in. Firstly, insofar as take-out is concerned, I have to say that the new sturdy cardboard packaging with ventilation holes is a great improvement over the white paper box and plastic bags that used to be provided. The batter stays crispy with the new packaging which is a big improvement. For our last two meals, however, the fish has been almost wafer thin, and the description of what we purchased as “fish and chips” was not accurate. A better description would be “batter and chips” as the fish was such a very thin slither, maybe only 2-3 mm thick, and certainly could not really be tasted. Perhaps this was just bad luck, and we happened to get particularly thin slices of fish, but I wonder whether Joey’s is cutting their fish extra fine to shave costs... The default fish that Joey’s sells is Pollock, and I know that Pollock fillets are typically quite slender, but what I recently ate was way thinner than expected. How much does a typical fish fillet from Joey’s weigh pre-batter, I wonder?
Finally, a place to eat fish.... I use to eat fish every Friday with my family back in Ontario, where fish is the top thing on the menu there. After I moved to Saskatoon 5 years ago, I could not find a good fish ANYWHERE! Every place you go to puts waaaaay too much batter on the fish and it tastes like it came out of a box.
Thank you Joey's Seafood on 8th, you've saved Saskatoon's fish industry! Lightly breaded and it really tasted like good fish, and I got the cheap cod... was so shocked!! I like to order and take home, good deals, great fries.. LOVE IT!
Great menu also watch for their all you can eat specials on certain days
Greatest rotisserie chicken in town!
Fast Service,Good Food done quickly. Fast, friendly service, and the food is very good, the fish tastes great, delicous coleslaw, and i was really impressed with the ribs,as the meat fell off the bone and was tender and delicous.I always thought you had to go to a fancy restaurant for real good ribs, and i was corrected.Great ribs, and great job done Joey's staff!
Really tasty, crisp, light fish! The service is excellent too. Very friendly and they go out of their way to make sure you have a good time.
Good food, maybe a little to greasy. Good price.
Great good. My family really enjoys this place. We always find the batter to be perfect, nice big filets of fish, great side dishes. A little pricey - but always super tasty.
Really good food, loved the fish and chips! Service was good and not too expensive either
