We don’t go for dim sum, but our favourite beef dishes, #93 & #121, never disappoint & always hit the spot! They’re so good!!! We are always greeted & left with a smile from the owner at the till. We feel our ongoing business is appreciated & would highly recommend it to anyone. The new restaurant is very nice.
This is the best place for dim sum. It's always kind of a gamble as to whether you'll get all the dishes you like, but I'd say we hardly ever miss out on anything. Yes it's very busy and crowded, so just be patient, it's worth it.

My party of three went for Dim Sum on Sunday 11 am. We only had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated and great seating it was. We were seated close to the kitchen so everything that came out was hot and fresh. Everything was delicious! Service was very good also!! Already looking forward to the next time...

Nice bright new dinning in Stonebridge. Food was very good and service was attentive. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Our group was all there for the first time and will return.

I was looking forward to trying this place after they moved to their new location. The dim sum was okay but the service was absolutely horrible. The cart came around once the whole time we were there. After that, no one stopped by our table to refill our water or ask if we wanted to order anything. The servers only paid attention to the larger tables and completely ignored us. We actually had to get up and go to the front desk to ask when the cart would be coming around again, only to be abruptly told “too many customers, no cart.” Their actual menu does not have dim sum items on them so I guess that meant we could no longer order anything? Since they can’t care less about basic customer service, we will not be returning.
The best in Saskatoon, in my opinion. Gets crowded every Sundays, but if you go early then you get to enjoy the food. The pork buns are yum!!!

They handmake their dimsum so it just tastes really great, and they also have an extensive selection above and beyond what i'd expect for saskatoon!!
Quick rundown of some of what we got this time:Curry squid: super springy, fresh, and with a nice curry sauce that wasn't too spicy
Shrimp rice roll: large prawns wrapped in a rice wrapper that goes perfectly with the sweet soya sauce
Pineapple bun: AMAZING. flaky sweet covered buns with sweet custardy filling inside. my go to dessert.
Har gow (shrimp dumplings)- crystal clear wrapper with a large amount of shrimp inside- very fresh, bouncy, and well seasoned.
Deep fried shrimp wontons- crispy shrimp dumplings deep fried in a light batter, the shrimp inside contrasts with the crunchy batttery and comes with some sort of tartar sauce for a dipping.
Taro corners : filled with a savoury pork center and taro, then deep fried with a special batter. not my favourite dish, but I still like it
I'm always surprised at how reasonable the bill is considering the amount of food we get. Always a lineup if you come a bit later during the morning- lunchtime.
** the hk style cold milk tea is amazing as well. they make it authentic with condensed milk and the taste is very reminiscent of my childhood.

Ordered take out from Skip the Dishes for lunch. I was surprised how quickly the food arrived. It said delivery between 12:05 and 12:35. The food arrived as said 12:05.
My co workers ordered BBQ pork Chowmein, Beef Brisket Chowmein and Beef Brisket egg noodle soup. Myself the Ginger Beef and Chicken Fried Rice.
Both Chowmein looked really good nice big pieces of meat. Both said it was good and meat super tender.
The soup came with noodles and meat in the side and was told the Brisket was tasty and very tender.
My ginger beef was fairly good but the sauce was quite watery.
The fried rice looked pretty bland. But honestly tasted much better than it looked.
We'd definitely order from here again. Quite anxious to try different item as many of them sounded good.
I ordered for pick up and when I got home I realized they forgot my sweet and sour sauce for my pork. 5 min later there was a knock at my door , they delivered it. I was super impressed.
Food was good. Lemon chicken was a small portion and the spring rolls aren't your typical Vietnamese spring roll, and hot and sour soup is strange too but overall I would order from here again.
This is definitely the best Chinese food in Saskatoon. That being said, it is not life changing, and would probably rank as average in larger cities. I gave it a 4.0 because in Saskatoon standards, it's a 4.5, but in other cities, it would be closer to a 3.5.
The food is very hong-kong style, and a little bit on the greasier side. The dim sum is pretty good, although when I first tried it 2 years ago I thought it was pretty bad. I'm not sure if my standards were higher (moving here from a much bigger city) or if they have improved over the years. One of my favourite parts of eating here is the chili oil.
I have never eaten in for lunch or dinner, but I have gotten take out and delivery many many times. The food (as long as it's not deep fried) keeps very well on the way home, and they are open to customization if you ask for it (less oil, no peas, no meat, etc.) The staff are very pleasant.
Best Chinese and dim sum! Been here 10+ times, and great food & service each time. The Shanghai noodles and crispy ginger beer are must tries!

The best dim sum in Saskatoon by far! I'm glad they moved to a bigger location! Their dim sum is excellent and have good portions. Their menu items are also good. Best time to come is right when they open or you will have to wait a while to get seated. My favourite are their steamed dumplings, turnip cake, squid and tripe.
I ordered delivery because I'm not from Saskatoon and needed food! They charge $5 for delivery which is fair and has no minimum amount you need to spend to get your food delivered. They said it'd take around 45 min for the food but it only took 30 min. The food was pretty good. I don't recommend getting the beef brisket soup for anyone who isn't familiar with Chinese food. The seafood with veges was really yummy. There were lots of seafood (certainly more than what I was expecting)!
I'm constantly debating whether Genesis or Yip Hong is my favourite dim sum location but after my last visit to Yip Hong I think they may have taken the lead. Everything was great as usual but the COCONUT BUNS. They were fresh out of the oven, still warm and the best thing I've eaten in a while. Only problem with this place is their lack of crab rangoon (and genesis makes a DAMN good crab rangoon).
Wasn't mind blowing, but good. The serving sizes are for more then 1 person! Service was very good and friendly. The restruant is out of the way you could almost miss it. Wouldn't again the prices Vs portion is so worth it.
Frequently visit for dim sum great with group of friends bad for waistline. My favorite dim sum spot in city from the rice rolls to shrimp cakes to steam buns can never get enough. I usually eat chicken feet even every time so good here. Great place forever be a patron cants wait to get to mes location.
I love this restaurant. I've been coming here since I was about nine years old. My memories of Yip Hong's mostly include my family and I ordering interesting (sometimes crazy) looking food from the dim sum carts. Most of the food is absolutely delicious, some dishes I think may take an acquired taste. If you're new to Asian cuisine, order what you recognize (spring rolls, etc) and you'll have a great meal. The servers have always been nice and respectful to me. This restaurant gets pretty busy on Sundays so it's better to get there early, or take a number and wait in line!
I love this place for dim sum. Carts are flying past every couple minutes and it is so hectic. Just is such a fun place to eat and get some tasty portions in the morning/early afternoon with friends. Deep fried pork dumplings are my guilty pleasure. Thankfully the place is remaining open even with the new real estate developments in the lot.
Yip Hongs is by far the best Chinese restaurant that puts the other ones to shame. Their food is authentic. Their waiters and waitresses all speak English some dialect of Chinese. As a Chinese person who was born in Toronto, this is the best that you can get in Saskatoon. Very authentic...do you see how many Chinese people are in there? Do you see the lineups? Just like back home! What are you waiting for!
If you don't know better you may never even notice this place. Some fresh greens with garlic & straight up deadly dim sum...and you can get it at night! Bonus 👍👍
Normally I avoid going to Chinese restaurants due to a few bad experiences in past. A colleague that eats at a lot of Chinese restaurants recommended this one.
I ordered a chicken in black pepper sauce rice dish. It was not bad. Was a filling meal and very reasonably priced. May consider going there again if I drop by Saskatoon.
I always grab a bite here when I am craving dimsums. Very good food and really economical. Their sweet dimsums are absolutely worth a try. I would also recommend their beef with garlic and green onions. Quick service too!
To add to the review, I ordered some hot and sour soup last night, which was great as usual. What was amazing was that the gentleman behind the counter kept the restaurant open beyond its closing time simple because I was 10 minutes late for my pickup. He phoned me and I told him how I was stuck in the lab and would be 10 mins late. He was kind enough to understand me and left the restaurant open beyond the closing time. I can't thank him enough for his kind gesture. Yip hong serves great food and it's run by amazing people. I wish I could rate you more than 5!
One of the better places for dim sum. Although I would say service is bad. Needs some work to do. Some dishes are too greasy for me but would go back.

Good food. I enjoy the dim sum there. The food is tasty and staff are friendly. Even the evening platters are tasty. I really like their fish maw and crab meat soup.

Weekend Dim Sum anyone?. I went here with my mom on a Saturday, we had been there before for dinner however lunch was the best! As soon we entered I knew this place would be good, reminded me of Toronto's Chinatown that we miss so much! Were sat fairly quickly, service was excellent, food was great as well! I love the fact that they have different dishes on a cart where they ask you to make a selection from them, you get to actually see what it looks like before ordering. Will definitely come back! We had around 6-7 small dishes and total was approx. $30, not bad at all for 2.
8.75 Definitive Decadence Points. The committee has been to Yip Hong's several times during the Sunday Dim Sum. While there is usually quite a wait to get in, it is well worth it. It’s one of the few places worth waiting for. If you’re going, go early. There’s usually more people waiting to be seated than there are seated. And why? Because it got 8.75 definitive decadence points that’s why. It’s one of the highest rated restaurants on our charts. The food tastes authentic. There’s a wide variety of it, including things that we have no idea what it is. Yip Hong's is an adventure. With 4.5 delights it’s one of the most flavourful places in town, and it’s at a pretty decent price. Our favorites include the potato dumplings, coconut buns, egg tarts, and pork buns. Honestly you can’t go wrong. Well worth the trip. So here's to Yip Hong’s! Yip Yip Hooray!

First time there this weekend. If you want authentic Chinese this is your place. Never had Hot n Sour Soup, wealthy man rice (I think), eggplant dish, crispy noodle dish and couple more plates but all were very different yet very good. Most chinese us Canadians are used to does not compare to these palette dazzling foods. Can't wait to go try creamy seafood and chicken feet. young nephews loved it too.
Great Chinese food.. I love this place. When you enter this place it takes the server to notice you and get you a seat in less than 2 mins. I have never stood for more than 2 mins.... I love their service & their food. dont expect a very upscale service this place runs on their food quality.. NOt a huge drinks menu. but you get cheap beer.
You will never be disappointed.

December 2012 Visit. We have dim sum at Yip Hongs frequently, maybe once every 2 months on a weekend. We try to go at about 10am so we don't have to wait in line for a table, but sometimes end up late and waiting. It's worth the wait for the best dim sum in Saskatoon. It is better than the 5-6 places we've tried in Vancouver and all of the places we've tried in Edmonton.
The quality and flavour at Yip Hongs is consistent. Our favourites include the shrimp cakes, sticky rice, fried dumplings, and steamed bbq pork buns. Number one has to the the pineapple buns. We watch eagerly for the giant trays of those things to come around. Last time I noticed quite a few others doing the same. The 5 consecutive tables ahead of us each ordered at least one dish of pineapple buns. The people who were winding down still ordered some to go. Not even exaggerating. We were worried we wouldn't get any.
You can't really go wrong here. Everything they bring out is good.
We came here for peking duck in the fall. It was tasty and inexpensive. One order, 35 dollars and 4 dishes could feed 4 people.

Excellent. Don't know when Paul was there but we were there at 7:20pm and home by 8:30 pm...great food...excellent service...They will have a web site soon and paper take out menu's coming in the next 2 weeks...First time there and will definitely return...We ate like kings for under $30.
Quit Good. We have eaten here twice now and both times found the service and food good. Ordered from the menu and took particular liking to the hot and sour soup, and the seafood hotpot. I would like to try the dim sum next visit.
Very good food have been their twice now and were impressed with the food and price. Thier staff could be a little more orginized we had 4 different servers and all our food we were sharing came out at different times and one not till we were done everything else BUT I will be eating here again and again new favorite Chinese please

Amazing food. Go early for the dim sum, it is so good and so popular you must be there early to avoid a 30-45 minute wait. Service is quick, food is great and staff are friendly. The food portions are generous and you definitely get your moneys worth.
My Favorite Place In Saskatoon. I have lived in Tokyo, Vancouver and Banff and have long searched for a comparable dining experience east of the Rockies. Most recently I and my friend enjoyed spring rolls (4), a shrimp dim sum (4), hot n' sour (which she absolutely loved), and ginger brisket hotpot. Perfect! All for about $30 and within walking distance from campus, too!

Great Dim Sum. Chaotic and delicious environment. Went on a weekend. People packed this restaurant but not really that bad of a wait. Service was fast. Food temperature was warm only on some of the dishes. Great experience. Will come back again and again.
I love yip hongs! I've been going to dim sum for ever in stoon but this so far is the best. Sometimes food is cold but still is delicious. It's kinda busy and chaotic but that's how dim sum is meant to be. And people complaining on here about the servers? They aren't servers like a burger joint. You can't expect them to run around to get everyone water :)

Tasty.. We had dinner here tonight, my partner and I. The service was very fast and friendly enough. Our food was pretty good, though we didn't get anything too out of the ordinary. Prices seemed reasonable. I'm sure we will be back to try their dim sum.

Authentic Chinese? This is Close and I'll Take it.. I've been in there countless times as a CBC, this place is the only Chinese restaurant in town that gives me a close to authentic southern Chinese style meal as I'm ever going to get in Saskatoon and has a good dim sum menu that leaves me going back for more.
The decor has been upgraded in the last couple of years (going through a few weeks of renovations really hurt my appetite then, and what is up with the chairs with the clovers cut out on them?) so it doesn't look like a hole in the ground. they could use an update on the dishes, cups, and tea ware, but what Chinese restaurant can afford such luxuries? And don't mind the noise levels... that is the typical Chinese atmosphere.
The staff are sometimes hard to deal with but for the most part try to bend over for what you need. Sometimes there is the language barrier especially during dim sum, but when you can "point and click" on a dish on a cart, it's not had to see what is in there. During the evenings, the more experienced (and Engrish knowledgeable) staff explain things very well if needed.
The food itself is as close to authentic Cantonese as I have found in the city. Peking duck is a good choice. Order in advance for this special occasion 2 or 3 dish meal, definitely worth it if you don't mind the calories and fat involved. I enjoy the hot pots and thin noodles dishes as well, the flavours are full and rich to me. For the dim sum dishes, I lean towards the chicken sticky rice, the garlic squid, the salty deep fried dumplings, and the chicken feet for those who are more adventerous. Even the dim sum staples of shrimp dumplings and pork dumplings are always savoury. Good modest portions for all their dishes.
Doesn't hit you too badly on the wallet either. Expect about $15 - $20 per person for a modest meal all around. If going for dim sum, go within the opening hour otherwise you'll be waiting and you'll be sorry. Now if they could only be open on Tuesdays....

Tasty, tasty Dim Sum.. This has turned into our regular Dim Sum spot. I like the variety that they provided for dim sum and that it isn't completely catering to a western pallet like the Mandarin does. I definitely think that the carts could turn over a little more so we get more different things coming to the tables but other than that I have no complaints. The food is always hot when it comes to my table and extremely tasty. My personal favourites at Yip Hong's are the lotus buns, duck feet and BBQ bun.
And I know everyone has said this but GET THERE EARLY! The wait there can get pretty crazy.
Favorite for Dim Sum. Yip Hong's wins the Dim Sum contest. While it may be bit more expensive than the other dim sum places in town the quality and selection make it worth while. We love the pork buns! However, be prepared for a wait on weekends as this place is popular. Ordering off the menu is also a good option. The food is always fresh and tasty.

Dim sum is usually not bad, it kinda all blends together tho, I went there for supper one night and they were kinda a mess, I had 5 different waitresses and none of them could understand me too well... it seemed like there kinda all over the place... there menu is kinda mess too... way too much stuff on it... and then ended up getting hair in my food, I don't think ill be going back.
Such a good dim sum stop. If you fancy delicate dumplings and tasty rice wraps, eggplant etc then this is a must try! Go early in the weekend it's packed around lunch time
