It takes some moxie to continuously raise the bar! You never fail to impress both inside and outside the walls of your restaurant. I've never seen another restaurant owner give back so much to their community. YOU ROCK! :)
I had the steak salad at this visit, and it was wonderful! The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We sat on the patio. It was clean, as was the inside of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and service was great.
This is the second time I've been here. It was so good again. I had the Herb Alfredo with Chicken... yum. And I had the White Chocolate Brownie for dessert!! So good.

I have been to every "high end" restaurant in the city. Moxies has the best ribs out of all them. And your pick-up option is perfect for after work, None of the other nice places offer that.

Moxies provides a relaxing and nice atmosphere for dining. Service is always good, and food quality is consistent, some dishes like the salmon are a bit bland for me. I would go back again.
Went here for my b day with some friends. The food was delicious and presentation nice except when we got to dessert. Dessert was delicious but except friend found a hair in her ice cream. ..
This is a chain and it feels like it. That said the food is good if a bit on the bland side. The service is good. The music was a bit too loud for easy conversation.

Somewhat similar to Earl's, slightly more chain-y, but with a larger menu. Service was very friendly and I can't complain about that. The menu touches on a few different things, but at its most adventurous it's Americanized versions of ethnic dishes which is probably to be expected considering the market they're trying to sell to.
I had the steak sandwich and was pleased that they decided to do something a little different with it, opting for a slightly spicy, tangy sauce on the bread and decent vegetables instead of falling back to the garlic-based classical version. Made it interesting, worked well, and distracted me (for a while) from the average quality steak itself. I was disappointed at the serving size though, with only a smallish side of fries, I wasn't exactly full by the end of my meal. The prices themselves aren't awfully high, they have a lot of dishes in the mid-price range of $14-19 that seems to be the market price in Saskatoon, but the serving size was definitely smaller than competitors selling at similar prices. Without a second side on these dishes (ala Original Joe's) they are on the lower end of the value spectrum.
Ambience is a pretty subjective thing but I'm going to rate it anyway since it affected my experience. The place is so damn loud inside, at least where we sat. They have very nice 18-ish foot ceilings, but no sound dampening, so the cacophony of voices and crying babies are bouncing off the walls and carrying further than they should. I felt like we both had to yell to sustain a conversation. The decor and style of the place tries a bit too hard to be trendy but is too spartan to be genuine, so I think that's where people get the 'pretentious' label from. I think that's just part of the Moxie's brand, I remember it being the same way when I last ate here as a child.
Anyway, not for everyone, but a solid choice if upper-end American chain cuisine is in your wheelhouse. Seems like the creativity put into the dishes is above average so we'll probably be back to take another swing at that.
It's always night coming for a meal at moxies. Their drinks are tasty and well priced. The food menu provides many different options, different types of food and they are all fairly priced for the most part. I've never been disappointed with a meal from here. It always has came out fresh and delicious! Service is hit and miss but usually it's okay. Overall it's great restaurant for a chain restaurant.
My gf and I ate here. Service was friendly and we didn't wait long for anything. The calamari was good. I had a steak to follow which finally found a place that can cook medium rare! The serving was huge with the potatoes and spinach but over all good.
Had lunch at Moxies today, first time I've been there in a while. Overall I enjoyed the food but I found the service, menu and atmosphere to be a bit too pretentious. That might be on purpose as I recognize they are trying to appeal to a different demographic than what I am - I prefer substance over style, not everyone makes that distinction.
We ordered a steak sandwich and sirloin with compound prawn and lobster butter and they were absolutely delicious! They were cooked to perfection and had lots of flavour. Two thumbs up!
Stopped in with family last night, and enjoyed the top sirloin with prawn butter. Steak was cooked perfectly med rare. Corn hash was tasty. Nephew had tried a burger, and it was a bit off. However, when the server noticed he didn't eat it, sent over the manager to see what was wrong. Great to see this kind of attention afforded the customer, well done Jamie and Ashley.

One of the best desserts ever!. Me and my boyfriend frequent moxies, because I love their raspberry kiwi crush margarita. It is to die for. I have loved all their food and appetizers that we have received. The service is always quick and helpful and so is the food delivery time, they are very quick and it is always good. If you are thinking about dessert, which I suggest you do. Get the white chocolate brownie, it is amazing. We get it every single time to share between us! I love how they have drink specials and always change up the special menu and point it out. Have tried a few different things and always loved it. Will definitely keep going back over and over.
Ashley was a quick, sincere,& attentative server. The mustard dill salmon was moist & deliciously full of flavor. My husband's sirloin with prawns was very good. We will definitely be back! (& the appie: lettuce wraps were excellent! )

Good food, beautiful lounge. Always busy.. First and foremost, if you're doing 'date night' here: stick to the lounge. The dining room is nice, sure, but there always seems to be a mess of noisy children every time I'm at Moxie's. As was the case last night. Thankfully my girlfriend and I copped a table in the lounge last night, which is modern and aesthetically pleasing all around. Large Coronas were on special for $7.99 (awesome), so we piled back a few of those and had the 'Med Bread' as an appetizer. Nothing too exciting, but a good starter if you enjoy breadsticks. As for mains, they make some good food. I, being always on the hunt for the best burger in town, ordered the braised short-rib stuffed burger, which was fantastic. Incredibly tasty and filling. A nice switch up from conventional burgers. The lady enjoyed a steak salad, which looked appetizing, nice and light with fresh greens. Although the steak was served medium rare when she ordered medium, we're not overly picky people. It happens everywhere at chain restaurants.
All in all, if you're looking for a nice place, easy to decide on, with a young, professional crowd: Moxie's works every time. Just avoid screaming children and enjoy.

Fantastic service and good food every time I go! This is the ONLY place I've gone and seen the manager doing work, helping the servers and working the room. Very impressive. Nice atmosphere. Great vibes.
This is one of my favorite places to eat, and normally I LOVE the food here and have had THE best service experiences here. I just want to make a note though about this month's (March) features - they were very disappointing and deceiving from how they are described on the feature menu. I ordered the gnocchi and there was nothing "creamy" about the tomato sauce that came on it. It was a paste and I didn't enjoy the flavor of the paste on it at all. The gnocchi had a decent texture and taste so I just tried to pick everything off of it and eat it plain. My friend ordered the lamb and it was also a huge disappointment and was served much different then the menu led you to believe.
Even though it's a chain.... Love Half Priced Wine Nights on Tuesday! Purple Cowboy is good.
I really like the feature menu they put out, I'm always pleasantly surprised with the food I order from it. White Chocolate Brownie is a must and a staple of that place. Avocado Spring Rolls are good, so is the Med Bread and the Spin Dip.
I really hate going during the dinner rush because service can suck, but apps and drinks in the lounge are always a good time.
Went last night for my birthday and really enjoyed it. Man, the place is cougar central - but the food and drinks are great so no wonder. My favorite part of the meal was the bruschetta app, balsamic vinegar really made it tasty. Had 2 drinks each, beef vindaloo and new york steak - all that was $94 with tip. The staff was very nice, but after eating we stayed for our drinks and the waitress came by like every 5 minutes. Will keep going back.

Love it. Moxies is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It's a great, comfortable place to go. Great food, great waitresses, great atmosphere. Go! They have awesome salads, a super delicious Honey Garlic Sirloin and a super tasty double stuffed potato.
Great Service. On the last two occasions that I dined at Moxies on 8th Street in Saskatoon, I had a problem with the meal I had ordered. The first time, it was the Steak Sandwich and the second time the Pulled Pork Sandwich. What saved the day for me on both occasions, was the way the manager dealt with the issue. He asked me if I wanted to order a replacement meal and when I did, it was complimentary. Awesome service, great management and very competent (not to mention gorgeous) servers! - I will definitely be going back regularly.

Nice Environment, Nice Food, Nice Service!. I have had great experiences at Moxie's! What I like is how consistent it is across their locations. I travel on a regular basis and Moxie's has always been a grand choice. I like their steaks very much. The staff has always been entertaining and pleasant. My boyfriend and I went here for our second date, and the waiter gave us a free desert for the occasion. Very nice place!
Moxieliscious. What's not to like here? Smokin hot waitresses, fish tacos and a curry dish to die for, a classy modern atmosphere, some of the nicest washroom facilities in the city, and a Gin Ceasar that is in the top 3 in the city hands down. A few times I have seen a guy in the lounge who calls himself "The Bear" make a bit of a scene, but other than that it's a reliable pick.
I generally have good experiences at Moxies and tonite was no exception.. I had the Veggie burger which was absolutely delicious. Also tasted the white chocolate brownie- um, wow!! Amazing. I give the service a 6/10- we were a large group but the server rarely came around by the end. I also wish they would open a second moxies!!! Willowgrove or rosewood!!
Pretty Average. I have always found the service at Moxie's to be good, but the food could use some work. For the price you pay, it is at best mediocre. That being said, I have allergies and they are always very accommodating ( a manager has always come out to check that my food was OK, and to assure me it was prepared in a non contaminating environment.). I will only go to Moxie's if i'm in the mood for certain dishes.
Awesome weekend brunch! I've been here a couple times for brunch on the weekends and the food has always been great. We ate outside on the patio which was lovely. Service was nice as well. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Just finished having appies with a some friends and their parents everyone loved their meal(fish tacos/nachos/grilled chicken sand/grilled brie and lobster saned)But there was a table of loud beligerent men that were out of control. I feel really bad for the poor servers who are left to deal with these assfaces. We just talked to the manager and told him and let him know that it sucked having our meals surrounded by fbombs and dudes arm wrestling eachother. So gross! This isn't a nightclub where that kind of behaviour is ok.ps that behaviour is never ok. Really wish a manager would step in and tell these dudes to shut their faces! Very frustrating!

Always consistent. Me and my husband didnt want to cook and moxies is close and usually always good so we went there for dinner.
The lounge is always busy and loud so we opted for the dining room. Long story short it was grad day for grade 8 and a whole school of them decided to show up for the servers 'delight' with prolly 15 mins notice. They were VERY loud. But our server moved us and a couple other couples to a quieter part of the dining room. We had a great dinner. We had about 4 different ppl servers hosts ect. apologize to us about the kids which i thought was very very nice and above and beyond for the staff.Needless to say i felt sorry for the staff. I dont think 14 yr olds really know how to tip yet.
I did try the avocado spring rolls once and didnt really like them tho.I dont think you should deep fry avocado, it gets mushy and weird tasting. I generally stick with the steak and goat cheese salad which has never let me down. Its just so good, and the vinaigrette is a little spicy which i enjoy quite a bit. I also had the crab and scallop cake which was yummy as an app, maybe a little over priced but it is moxies after all. Also my beer wasnt as cold as it shouldve been ( advised by the label) but either way the wine after was good :)
Very Dark Vibe. So dark you dont know what you were eating, but whatever it was, I will go back for seconds! The drinks were good too. But just because your trying to make a buck, dont hang/flirt with my Husband! I paid the bill! Bwahahaha on you, wonder why your tip was soooooooo small??
Enjoyable. The quality of some of the entrees is suspect, but that is to be expected. If you order from the daytime menu, however, exceptional food is available for a reasonable price and the lounge atmosphere alone just adds to a consistent enjoyable experience.
Great Lounge. The food is just ok. The drinks and service are pretty good. Best bathrooms in the city by far.
Not Bad for the Price. Took Sunshine there for her b-day along with two other family members. Food was decent, bill was high, but considering apps, drinks and entrees it was on target. Food over all was ....... ok 3/5

Large, delicious salads. Consistently good food with quick service, Moxie's is one of the few chain restaurants that does not cut corners when preparing your meal. The service ranges from mediocre to excellent, depending on who is taking your orders.
The atmosphere is clean, fresh, and overall just a great environment to meet friends and have good conversations. If the lineups aren't too long to get in, it's fun to drop by in the evening and try their desserts.
As mentioned by many other reviewers, my favorite items on the menu are the salads. They are large, and I've never had one that tasted bad. I used to really like the banana mini-loaf that came with the sesame thai chicken salad, but with their new menu change, they've replaced the banana loaf with a few okay flatbread triangles. The salads are also a little more expensive than many of the burgers. Nevertheless, Moxie's = fantastic salads.
Overall, if I'm short on places to go (which is rarely the case), or need somewhere good to take a friend, I can probably depend on Moxie's to do the job.

Hit and miss, but usually a hit.. I usually end up disappointed after eating at chain places like this but Moxie's (unlike Earls' and the consistently brutal Chili's) is pretty good with a decent menu that isn't overwhelming (I'm not a fan of huge menus).
The salads here are delicious, although once or twice have either been drowned in dressing or disappointingly under dressed (yes I realize how anal this sounds, I just appreciate consistency that's all). The lunch menu is really good for the most part, nice sandwich selection (I recommend the fish tacos or lobster brie grilled cheese) and the soups are excellent. The drink menu has some really tasty creative drinks and the caesars are my favourite in the city.
Now, as for the service...
Generally in my experience it has been good; friendly and prompt. No complaints until the other day when my friend and I went in for lunch. We came around 2:30 so the lunch rush had more or less passed and we were seated right away...about 20 minutes later a server strolled over (and I do actually MEAN strolled). Anyways, after the preliminary greetings etc he brought us some waters which didn't last through the 20 minutes or so we sat with out menus closed waiting for him to come back and take our order, we ordered an appetizer and two salads, I also ordered a caesar.our food was brought out quickly (by different servers, not that it really matters). So we ate our appetizer (med bread, very good) with empty water glasses all the while hoping that the waiter might be bringing that caesar by at some point and fill them up. No such luck. Then came the salads (also brought by a different server, again not that it really matters) still no sign of the caesar, our server, or the slightest possibility of getting a refill on water (I tend to be perpetually thirsty when eating). Eventually as the salads had pretty much disappeared from our plates our server decided to grace us with his presence, ask how the food was and ask me if I still wanted the caesar (I didn't). We asked for our bills and to shorten an already long story about 25 minutes later our server and his debit machine arrived at our table. While we were trying to hurry and pay because the entire experience had taken an incredibly long time and we needed to get back to work/school the waiter who had been more or less absent for the entire meal detailed out to us all the difficulties of his personal life as of late and how because of such and such situation he wasn't having a good day and asked us not to fault him for it. Now, as someone who has been in the serving industry for a few years I feel like this was an unbelievably innappropriate and completely unfair situation to put paying customers in. Yes I completely understand that everyone has bad days and it can take a toll on how you do your job, it happens and I fault no one for that. BUT that does not make it ok to lay your issues out on the table to customers, ESPECIALLY when they are in the process of paying and tipping is involved. I feel like this was conniving and extremely unprofessional. If he had simply said "I'm sorry for the service today I'm having a tough day" or SOMETHING just plain and simple I wouldn't have even given it a second thought.
Lucky for this guy the rest of the servers at Moxies do such a good job.
Mmm.... Xango. A little expensive, but I am absolutely in love with the dessert menu. They also make a great Caesar. There is almost always a wait time if you don't have a reservation Thurs-Sun.

Classic, classy place. First of all, the atmosphere there is nice and comfort, service was good too. I really like the pan fried mushroom, but the main course, is just average.. for dessert, white chocoloate brownie is a must try! Good experience, will be back.
The thing I don't like is that it has turned into a family restaurant. It doesn't matter what time we've went, there are children here at all hours. I feel if you are paying $60+, you should be able to enjoy your meal without having to feel like you need to yell. Your only relief is to eat in the lounge. The renovations are beautiful, however, it was nice before the reno also (and less popular).
The food is always good. The servers have always been very good and have gone the extra mile. The manager (on two occasions) has come and asked us personally how our meal was and the second time thanked us for coming.
If it is busy you will have to wait on the semi-comfortable benches in the entry (not in the actual restaurant). It gets cold waiting there, especially if you are dressed up!!!
Great food quality. Every since their renovation the service has gone down hill, but the food quality has vastly improved.
At this price service isn't too important, and the reduced grease and salt in the food compensates for the apathetic servers.
Great steak and white chocolate brownie. I don't go places to be trendy, it's the food that brings me back. Moxie's has good food, and although it's a bit pricey, the service is usually quick and the presentation and taste is excellent.
My favorites are the maple garlic sirloin steak and the white chocolate brownie, served warm with a scoop of ice cream.
