Review Una Pizza + Wine - Saskatoon

Sarah W
We ordered for delivery today(but have also dined in and had incredible food) Fantastic gluten free pizza. I was even snacking on leftover pizza cold. That should tell you how good the gluten free crust is-usually cold gluten free anything is barely edible. Una does such an amazing job. Also, every single ingredient is quality. If you are an olive fan…..their olives are the BEST olives I have ever had on a pizza 😍🥰 and they are very generous with amount of toppings when you “add on” to your pizza!

Tried Una for the second time. The ricotta and meatball appetizers could have used more seasoning. The Broadway pizza had lots of flavor but maybe a little a too sweet. Our waiter was really nice and the restaurant has a good vibe.

This place was great as usual. Reasonably priced and the pizza was good. Hubby had the vegetarian and I had the Broadway. The music was a little loud for morning time but the experience was good overall.

Fun lively place! It was was recommended to me by a number of people to visit when in Saskatoon for the night. I started with the marinated olives, then beet salad and finished with the Margherita pizza. It was all good but the pizza needed salt to balance out the flavors. I asked for some sea salt and was given Malden salt which was a plus. The neighborhood is lovely with lots of restaurants and coffee houses.

Excellent is the word. I heard about this place from so many people in SK and yesterday got a chance to go in. We had to wait because it was amazing Friday evening and it was full but we got our table in around 45 min. We took patio seating and it was awesome. Juliet was our server and she made sure we are taken care of. Very polite, engaging and helpful when it came to suggestions on ordering. We started with cocktails, pizza, some house wine and spent great time. This can be accessed both via BUS and your car. Parking can be an issue at peak time because it's all street parking. Overall amazing place and highly recommended if you like pizza and great collection of cocktails.

I'm very pleased with the customer service we received from our server, her name is Gillian. She was attentive, happy and friendly. Not many servers have that attribute. The pizza was great, balanced flavors, and the crust fabulous. This is a recommended option and a will be back to the restaurant. Thanks Gillian fort the great service! Keep it up!

Veg pizza is good. Must try cheese cake. Overall it's awesome.

Pizza was great and the kale salad was surprisingly tasty. Some how they got the kale to be soft yet stay crispy 👍

I actually did not enjoy my experience here. The music was far too loud and the tables were almost on top of each other on the patio the pizza was warm at best although it did taste good and the service was meh. The bench on the patio actually snagged a big hole on my sweater and I informed the lady at the front who said that is so unfortunate. Not really great service when it was slow and not many people were in the restaurant.

We love to eat out in Saskatoon and this is literally my favorite restaurant! Every single pizza is delicious but if I were to recommend - the 4-maggi and the Broadway! Love the selection of local beers, the wine list and the figs to start! The patio is amazing in the summer (doubt you will find a better one in Saskatoon) and the late night vibe here is great!

Being Italian, I have been missing a good pizzeria in town. I tried UNA yesterday and I think it's really amazing. The pizza was excellent, well cooked, soft but not gummy - tried a Pizza Margherita and a pizza with spinachs. All the ingridients used are very high quality and that makes a difference. Loved it because they make it just like in the original Italian recipes, but with a nice twist of innovation that doesn't go too far like in many North American versions of this food. The service was really good and the place is just lovely! Prices are in the medium range and well balanced with the quality of the food. I would recommend to anyone who wants to eat real Italian pizza and have other options on top of Christie's - Il Secondo, which is also a good pizza place. UNA is a real step up for Broadway!

The quality of food and service is absolutely outstanding. I came here with family last weekend, and everything was very enjoyable. The mushroom and Broadway pizza was delicious and the staff are very friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for fast, fresh and delicious homemade pizza!

1st timer! With my daughter, my son's girlfriend, & my niece....wonderful experience with great company, our server was top-notch, fabulous pizza...vegetarian was the winner! Highly recommend, will definitely be back!

It's ok. I wouldn't order the pizza again. Not a fan of the crust. My pizza was wimpy and greasy, not sure the dough was cooked long enough or maybe it was day old dough. But I like the space and will be back to try the roasted brussel sprouts.

This is an amazing place. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was great. The only thing I would say is that it was hard to get the attention of a waiter/waitress once the food arrived and we anted to ask for a second drink even though it was not that busy. Otherwise, the experience was stellar.

Una is great -- atmosphere, service and food! We recently celebrated my birthday here, and the staff were so accommodating. The reservation was originally for less than 20, but they scraped us tables and chairs together when extras showed up and smiled the whole time. Food was delicious, atmosphere was fun and our server was kind, fast and wonderful.

Our staff from the Sandbox in the City recently held our Christmas staff dinner in the UNA event space. We were a party of 10, so were very comfortable. Food, drinks, atmosphere and service were all excellent. Would highly recommend for a more intimate gathering.Loved it.Thanks UNA!!!

Thx for the great NYE! We have been to una quite a lot and always enjoy it (our new favourite in Saskatoon ). Wanted to give a special thx for last night. The service and food was top notch, even tho it was a very busy night! All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and courses came promptly. Great job una!

Love this place! I've been twice so far and will definitely be back. Great service, food, wine and atmosphere. I've had the fennel salad and the kale caesar and really liked both. The braised leeks are delicious. Also enjoyed the formaggi pizza.

Chef Steve (Picaro) and Chef Alex (UNA) With the guidance of Chef Chris. Combined with the service of Sara made for an amazing dining experience. Private room with Chefs choice menu and matching beverages Bravo!
Paul Chavady
Incredible pizza and great service to match. Beer selection is mostly local and could have more selection, however the wine selection is incredible. They go out of their way to make you comfortable here, would recommend highly. Thanks Tamara for making our night!

I booked the TakeAway room for my bachelorette party. We had a group of around 25 people. The service was amazing, and the food was so so good! Everyone loved their meals and couldn't stop raving about it. The room was perfect for what we needed! I'd book here again, and will definitely be back for supper again!

Love the 4maggi and kale caesar, they keep me coming back! Add proscuitto to the pizza to kick it up a notch. The Vegetarian Pizza is also amazing!
Renee
I’ve eaten here multiple times and it was fantastic. I’m a foodie and very fussy and the starters and pizzas were great. They have super service and the patio is a must in the summer.
Aseem Chauhan
Its a nice place and usually have a nice time here but today the service was really slow. The meatballs did not taste that good. Pizzas were excellent but had to wait 45 minutes for them and around 10 minutes for the chilli oil. The place was not even that busy for a Friday evening, just slow service.
Steven Mack
I think i've tried all their pizza's and they are all great. Price for pizza is reasonable and service is good and great location on broadway. Alcohol is pricey, a cheap bottle of pinot grigio costs about $30 when you can get it for $10 at the liquor store.
Kelsi Kendel
Love this restaurant on Broadway. It always has a fun and busy atmosphere. Fun with friends or family. Good vibes all around. Plus the pizza and food are so good! Love their focus on local. A must have stop if visiting Saskatoon.

The pizza is delish, those dates are divine, and that kale salad. DROOL! The location can not be beat. Looking forward to summer nights and sangria!

This restaurant is amazing! Literally every pizza is delicious - you can't go wrong. The local beers, the wine list, the starters - all great! Perfect place for a summer night on their patio or a great late night vibe as well! A must try in Saskatoon!

The food, service, and atmosphere never fails to impress me! I would recommend the Broadway pizza and Kale salad - yum! The menu has something to please everyone and is a great atmosphere for all occasions.

I'm a fairly strict vegetarian and my partner has meat with every meal, and we both LOVE Una.

If you're looking for a lighter, more classic pizza, I recommend the margherita with a bowl of tomato sauce on the side. The flavours are superb! My personal fave is the vegetarian pizza, it's drizzled with honey and has the freshest veggies.

I always have a salad to start, usually the kale caesar without the prosciutto. It's a huge portion and I really enjoy the hard boiled egg it comes with.

Their wine list is huge and for date night, we regularly try out a new bottle based on the servers recommendation. And if you like spicy food, get their house made chilli on the side!

Ps. My partner swears by the meatballs and adds prosciutto to almost everything he orders.
Loved their food and pizza. Service was great. The cheese cake summed up an evening of delicious food. I would recommend making a reservation. The place fills up quick.

I tried the vegetarian pizza the other day. It tasted alright. Based on the menu, I thought it would be loaded with veggies but it lacked a satisfactory amount of toppings. I could count the amount of pieces of each ingredient. The only thing that it was loaded with was oil! My pizza was swimming in "roasted garlic" oil (but just tasted like grease instead of roasted garlic). After angling the tray to drain the oil from my pizza, there was at least 1/4 cup of grease that came off my pizza. My friend ordered the margherita pizza, which looked dry and only had 3 pieces of basil on top (WTF). I was hoping to get a really good pizza since there was some hype about this place but once again, another disappointing hipster restaurant.

Great lunch spot, had the lunch special with the kale Caesar salad, prosciutto wrapped dates and a pizza, enough for 2 and a reasonable price as well! The sausage pizza was fantastic with fresh basil on top and the hot pepper oil on the side. Not our first time here and definitely won't be the last.

Excellent Broadway Avenue eatery with a funky vibe. The service has always been really good; the servers are consistently friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Small menu with something on it for everyone. I have had the Broadway pizza, the sausage pizza and the mushroom pizza - all delicious....I may like the Broadway a bit more than the rest but truly, they were all good. The kale salad is fantastic and at lunch, you can order 1/4 of either a sausage or a mushroom pizza and a choice of a side of soup or a salad and it's a very reasonable price. Today we had a kale salad with 1/4 sausage pizza, the meatballs (OMG! Delicious. Three huge meatballs in a super tasty tomato sauce...) and the chicken wings which are not really wings - better than wings because they are like small beautifully spiced chicken thighs. My only complaint, which is why I didn't give this a five star rating is the fact that you have to pay for a refill for coffee. It's very good coffee but at 3.50 per cup, one would hope for a free refill. But aside from that, it's a fantastic place to go and in the summer when the big front windows open on to the street, it's even better. So happy you are in my neighbourhood!

Went for lunch. Had the Kale Caesar salad. It was delicious! Also tried the fig appie. Not sure if I would order that again because of the price. Also not sure about paying for distilled water. The pizza was pretty good. Really nice metro restaurant.

I like this place, but the pizza just isn't the best. I shared a kale caesar salad to start, which was amazing! It's definitely one of the best salad's I've eaten. My group shared the margherita, 4-maggi, and prosciutto pizzas. The 4-maggi was delicious, but the other two were only okay. I was sad that the margerita pizza didn't have big basil leaves - it was a basil spread instead which meant you only got a mild basil flavour. I was also really disappointed by the crust. It was bland and nothing special. The toppings were good, but without the crust to match it left a lot to be desired. With a better crust these pizzas would be amazing!

My partner and I have been here twice. The pizzas taste is pretty good however, I found the crust to be very flimsy in the centre and way to hard around the edge. The toppings you get are also few and far between. We had the sausage pizza, and there was barely any sausage.

We had the dulche de leche dessert. It was good but the portion was very small to share.

Overall it's not a bad place, but it is expensive for what you get

Amazing food, always friendly and knowledgable staff. Their use of local products and the freshness and ingenuity of the menu is well worth the price point. Alley patio is amazing!
Valdís
The pizza is good and as I don't like the smoke flavour of wood fired ovens I'm pleased UNA doesn't use one. That said I'm disappointed by how sparse the toppings are especially given that the prices are higher and portions smaller than other similar places. The atmosphere is great and I plan to come back for the patio since this was the first time I've been here and I want to give it a second chance.

Honestly I was excited to try this place. I'm a lover of fire oven pizza! Unfortunately this place does not do that. The crust was terrible. It tastes like they picked it up in the frozen pizza isle at a grocery store. Frankly, it tastes like cardboard. Completely disgusting crust which wrecks the rest of the pizza. It's expensive for the quality of pizza and they charge you for EVERYTHING! Water cost money, I got bread to start and asked for butter when it came without any and LATER, when I got my bill, I found out it cost me $1.50 for the smallest cube of butter. Also, your average cocktail costs more then the average cost. Only pro would be that the kale Caesar was good! I had high hopes for this place but I will not be returning.
Ilovefood
I came back and I was not let down. I do really enjoy the pizza. This time I went with a vegetarian friend and we shared the 4maggie and a half order of the kale caesar with the meat on the side. Very tasty. Prices are a little high but you also get what you pay for.

I wanted to like this place so badly! I was let down in a few different ways. The biggest problem was the crust on the pizza. It tasted like the kind you get frozen from the supermarket. I was so disappointed that UNA didn't have a fire oven like other thin crust pizza places in Saskatoon. This made the crust have no leoparding and was hard to chew. The toppings on the pizza, while tasty, were few and far between. I am always willing to pay more for my meal if I'm getting delicious quality, however I felt like $22 for my pizza was absurd. The portion sizes were also so miniscule. A $15 order of chicken wings contained 4 pieces of chicken. An $8 dessert was half the size of my palm. Now, onto the saving graces of the place. The location and building is beautiful. The interior of the restaurant is chic and sleek. The wait staff did their jobs well. While these aspects were nice, it isn't enough to bring me back to eat here. I'd advise anyone to save your money and eat better pizza at Famoso or walk down the street to Christie's.
My boyfriend and I went opening weekend, we expected it to busy so we did not mind the wait. It was shorter than anticipated because we agreed to sit at the bar. The ambience and decor was trendy and felt like lounge. The place was packed so it was fairly loud. I would suggest this restaurant before a night out but not for visiting and catching up. The food took long to be served to us. We were very anxious for our first bite, and once it happened we were left disappointed. The crust was hard and very crunchy. I tried to cut piece with my fork and knife and I had to saw through it. On a positive note the toppings were flavourful, and we loved the jalapeño oil. We thought perhaps the pizza was over cooked and give them benefit of the doubt it was opening weekend. Might try again in the future.

So glad we finally got to try this place! On a Sunday evening trying to find a tasty late night snack at a nice restaurant isn't an option. Last night around 11pm we went for the first time and it was awesome! It's great that we now have this option of having a great restaurant that's open until 1am every night of the week. The service was great. Our server was friendly and knowledgable. We had the Broadway pizza and I can't recall the name for the other one! They have a great selection of beer along with the huge selection of wine as they are known for pizza and wine. The environment is cozy but open at the same time. I can see it getting crowded and maybe loud if it was full but last night with just a few tables being taken it was perfect. Also the music was the great. I am definitely excited to return to try more of everything!

I've heard so many good things about this place and was finally able to try it last night for some late night eats. The late serving hours are a definite plus. Design of the restaurant is impeccable, particularly the wall of coat hooks. We had the chicken wings, small portion but very good. Also tried our friends' tagliatelle and it was delightful. Service was knowledgable and friendly. Will be back!

I think I'm a regular now. I've been here about five times, and I've taken family, friends, co-workers and clients to this restaurant. The staff are very polite, friendly, and professional. My favorite pizza is the fromaggio and I usually add prosciutto on it. If you're looking for a place with fresh & high quality ingredients, fast and delicious food, this is the place to be. I'm a food critic and have tried almost every pizza place in Saskatoon and have to say that out of all, Una makes #1 on my list. Will be back again!

Pizza was great! And staff was super friendly. Everyone was helpful and answer any questions and made sure we had a great experience. Even the chef behind the counter greatest us with a smile.

What knowledgeable staff!!!! Sat at the bar and the lady bartender was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She shared a little bit about the restaurant and their charity feature menu. She helped us pair a nice wine with a pizza. She showed us how to eat the dates to get a nice sweet and salty experience. Always topped up our wine at the right times. Turned our pizza so the slices were always available to us. The chilli oil was a nice touch to our pizza. The staff made the experience worth while!

Being from Calgary, I have always loved UNA Pizza + Wine for the exceptional service, amazing food, and lively atmosphere, and UNA Saskatoon delivers no less! I have had the pleasure of dining here on several occasions and it has never fallen short. The service is one of a kind as it is professional yet friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious as well! Everything I have had, which might I add is almost the whole menu, has been amazing. It is so amazing to have this place as a home away from home while I am here in Saskatoon!

Always the best service and eats at Una Yxe !!! Can't wait to go back- Kale salad is my fav! Whether I am there with my family of 5, or a business partner, the service is stellar. Greeted with a smile and smelling of truffle oil, my two fav things.

An interesting experience, way too noisy to appreciate fully. Tried the Broadway Pizza, which was our take on breakfast for supper! We opted for the egg on top option, but it was way too raw for my liking - couldn't touch any of those pieces. A bit pricy for what they deliver.
Brent
UNA feels "big city". It might be the design of the restaurant, or it might be the option to pay for water. The pizza is pretty good and fairly expensive. I could not finish one on my own so maybe it equals out with more than 2 people. Service was good, but slightly condescending. I asked for an opinion about two different pizza's and our server made me feel wrong for doing so. I will return, but it is probably not on my regular visit list.

My wife and I took our nine month old daughter for lunch at Una today. The food was good but the service was exceptional. We were warmly greeted and given constant attention (our cute daughter may have drawn them in a little!).
I love that more and more restaurants are popping up, and that so many source local ingredients. We had a number of items from the menu. The Broadway Pizza included mouth watering Italian sausage and maple syrup to balance the spiciness. While I favour brick oven pizza, it was very good. The bread and coffee both came from local vendors and you could taste the freshness. We didn't have room for dessert, but that never stopped me before from ordering. It was very good.
Excellent atmosphere - my eyes darted around the place. Even the markets for the washrooms and Harry Potter book on tape added to the delightful dining experience!
New places are always very popular. My wife was told two hours wait time in a Saturday evening. I'd love to go for dinner, as the wine list is substantial, but lunch is a nice way to go too!

UNA Pizza & Wine was very good. I went with my family and we ordered two pizzas, the Broadway and Mushroom, both were excellent. We also ordered two sides. UNA seems expensive, we had a bit of sticker shock when opening the menu, but our waiter explained to us that the best approach is meal sharing. We each had a drink and brought home leftovers and the tab was about 25.00$ each, which was not unreasonable. My only complaint was that it is a bit too loud for a restaurant. My father, who is in his 50s and has a bit of hearing trouble, had a hard time taking part in the conversation at dinner.
J.A.M.
Beautiful restaurant but very pricy for what you get. I went with friends and wasn't in the mood for pizza so I decided on the fennel salad. Asked the server about the salad size and was told the Una is a family sharing style restaurant so the salad is large and meant for sharing. I also decided on the stuffed date appetizer for 2.50, at that price how can you go wrong?
I was first served one date on a wood board, I thought it was a joke. Next my family sharing size salad arrived and I was shocked at how small it was. It was so small it wasn't even served on a full size plate. Despite the small size, the salad tasted good.
When the bill came, my friends and I were given one bill and told that since they stress "family sharing", they only provide one bill. I have never seen this before. I don't see how this is a family restaurant, it's more like a trendy bar.
I won't be going back. There are so many good restaurants in Saskatoon where you don't have to pay a huge amount and leave hungry.

A great menu!! Everything looked delicious, and our meal was so awesome. Reasonably priced for great quality food. Can't wait to go back again!

Tried 4 pizzas: the 4maggi, the Broadway, the tiki and the prosciutto. Each was distinct and delightful. The toppings are well thought out and compliment each other so nicely. But the real reason our dining experience was amazing was the service. Hands down the best kitchen and wait staff I've encountered in Saskatoon. Una is a great addition to Broadway.
An. D.
My friend who have been to UNA in Calgary many times recommended this place and we went to check it out. It was such a great experience! The 4maggi thin crust pizza with prosciutto on top was just amazing. They also have a great selection of wines. We had their local wine which was really good. I would definitely come back!

I have had the pleasure of eating at Una twice since they opened earlier this week. Their 4 cheese with white truffle oil pizza and the bacon and maple syrup pizza ("The Broadway") could keep me going for life. Tons of wine to choose from too! I can't wait to go back next week. Or maybe even this weekend.
