Review Las Palapas Resort Grill - Saskatoon

If you love Mexican Food, Las Palapas will not disappoint! Food is excellent, music is really good, (much better if you can understand Spanish language) and people are really welcoming! It's our first time here and will definitely be back!

This restaurant was the very first date that my current husband and I ever went on together, nearly 12 years ago! I remember him and I talked for an hour before we ordered. I ordered the extra large burrito. He said that was one of his clues I was the one. Now nearly 12 years ago - after marriage, life, and a baby we came to celebrate my birthday! I've come many times previous to this but it's one restaurant that will forever go down as history as "the place I found love". Delicious food and drinks. It will make you feel like youre in Mexico.

The food here is phenomenal the atmosphere is so vibrant it's worth just going to see the restaurant not even eating. The drinks were amazing the service was good overall it was a very pleasant experience I left very full

I loved the ambience. Just wow.. You get authentic Mexican vibes. Food was good. Expected to be better based on reviews. We got Tacos, Enchiladas & Bowl. Overall had great experience ! It was a weekday that means there wasn't any rush. Someone wants to try mexican, this is the place to be !!

I would echo some other reviews thst parking can be a bit hard to find. There is 2 spots in front and then about 4 stalls on the north side of the building. I ended up just parking on the street on the north side. The vibe in here is quite cool. Neat decorations throughout the restaurant gives it a unique feel. I kicked things off with a Saskatoon berry mojito ($1 off on Mondays) and had the Chipotle beef burrito. The drink was excellent with a nice local flare from the Saskatoon berries. The price of the burrito is pretty reasonable but I found the burrito to be a bit on the small side for me. It was tasty though, electing for the side of sour cream. I would recommend someone ordering this burrito. To fill me up though I ordered two tacos. I went with the shredded chicken and the shredded beef pork both on corn. Both delicious, and about the size you would expect. The shredded pork came with Parmesan cheese which I found to be an interesting but tasty combination. Overall quite enjoyed this Mexican place. I would come here again for sure!

Only second time for me at Las Palapas and a great reminder we have a solid Mexican restaurant in Saskatoon! Burritos were the best i have had in a long while. Jenna was serving our table, she was friendly and polite. Enjoyed sitting outside, big patio is awesome for summer days. Had a great stop with my brother here and will be coming back when feeling like good Mexican food!

This wonderfully authentic restaurant is always a pleasure to experience, and definitely worth the trouble of finding a parking spot to stop in. The decor is carefully thought out to the smallest detail, and we were thrilled to learn that every piece was sourced directly from Mexico or the Caribbean. Still cannot get over how amazing the chairs are in particular... and even the table bases matched the chairs around it. Stunning to the last. The drinks were decadent, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. Worth the wait! We also appreciated the convenience of a text notification when our table was ready. Over all, just a great experience as always!

Amazing as always! We had Anna as a server who did an excellent job. Tacos were fantastic and flavourful. Will continue to recommend las palapas.

Loved the ambience, but especially enjoyed the meal and appreciated that my shrimp was succulent, and the duck dish was full of flavour and the margaritas were amazing. Will recommend to my friend and family. Our waitress was excellent!! Thank you for the wonderful service and meal.

Traditional Mexican Food, Vibrant & Tropical Vibe, Great Service & Authentic Charm! Las Palapas is a fantastic Mexican restaurant in Saskatoon serving a huge variety of traditional Mexican dishes. The interior is painted in bright colours and has uniquely Mexican decor, along with a tropical vibe and authentic charm. Eating at this restaurant made me feel like I had been transported to Mexico! I ate at Las Palapas twice during my four day stay in Saskatoon and ordered the beans and corn enchiladas (vegetarian and corn tortillas to make it gluten-free) with sides of Mexican rice and warm refried beans. The enchiladas tasted so delicious - flavourful and authentic. Having traveled extensively throughout Mexico's Yucatan, I can honestly say that these enchiladas tasted on par with those I ate in Mexico. The service was friendly and I loved the colourfully painted interior, the Spanish mariachi music playing quietly in the background, and the authentic Mexican vibe of the restaurant. The majority of their menu was gluten-free and there were a variety of vegetarian options as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling through Saskatoon and I am so looking forward to eating here again during my next visit to the city! I wish my hometown of Winnipeg had an amazing Mexican restaurant like this one!

Absolutely delicious and love the atmosphere! The food was fantastic and brought out very quickly. Our server was very friendly and came around often to refill our water glasses and inquire about the food. It was my niece's 1st visit but it won't be her last, and I loved it too.

Had lunch with a friend today to celebrate her birthday and it was her choice to go to Las Palapas (I was not disappointed by this). We had the Jamaican Jerk shrimp to start and then Fish Tacos and Quesadillas for the main feature. Both were scrumptious and served hot and fast. The refried beans I chose as a side of the Tacos were melt in your mouth yummy! We shared the Deep Fried cheese cake (Flautas?) - sooooooo good - to wrap up a lovely luncheon. Our server was so lovely and seemed genuinely happy to serve us and to make drink and dessert suggestions. I've never had bad service at Las Palapas but she was a real ray of sunshine. Of course we'll be back because I need my Beef Barbacoa so see you soon LP!

Everything was good....service was ok....one of the things I didn't like was that there was only one server for the whole restaurant and it took awhile to get our order.....i also ordered a michelada and I couldn't believe that they were only allowed to serve it with modelo and no other beers

We were at Las Palapas last night for my husband's birthday supper. We were excited to try it as we've heard good things. Unfortunately we were VERY disappointed with the service, food and overall experience. The food took forever & when we asked our server if the food was coming, she replied rudely well that's what happens when the patio is open. Very disappointed, not sure we'll give it another chance Too bad because we love Mexican food & the decor was cool.

I enjoyed my food . The only dissapointment was that we tried make reservations for a group but they dont take them . We had to wait for a bit. The service did get better.

Fresh Margaritas and the Paella was nicely flavored and came out nice and hot...i had to actually wait for it to cool a bit which in my book is great cause it's means it is fresh out of the kitchen

Far from being authentic Mexican food. Was super disappointed when I asked for guacamole with nachos and got what seemed to be just an avocado that had been squashed up. For the price I'm paying I would rather just do it myself. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great don't get me wrong. Just disappointed in the quality of the food not at all what I was expecting. Very hard to find authentic Mexican food in Saskatoon.

Anyhow.<br/><br/>Service was slow. Not sure if that’s a regular thing, but gonna chalk it up to an off day/lunch service. So, no big deal. The shrimp in the Camorones tacos were a bit flavourless, good spice/heat and flavour from the peppers and other toppings on those tacos though. So, also will not prevent me from going back.✅<br/><br/>That all said. Having worked for an awesome chef/restaurant owner that was born and raised in Mexico City, and has opened various Mexican restaurants within Canada and Mexico.. I was a little surprised by the small/er portions here at this place... my partner wanted to eat when we got home after having ‘helped’ me with my tacos lol (he had the pollo con mole enchiladas).

Authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine! The chicken enchilada, beef burrito, rice and beans, everything was so good. It tasted good with the extra spicy sauce they have on the table side. Definitely one of the best Mexican food in the city.

Do not go with large groups. We were told "Just another 10 minutes" for over an hour. Not worth the wait. Food was alright. Rice tasted like it was a package of uncle bens. Chicken mushroom quesadillas was good, but not good enough to warrant another trip.

Atmosphere was fantastic and service really good but my food was really bland. Ordered the big burrito meal which with the rice and beans tasted like an out of box flavour. Kids loved it and wife said it was ok.

This isn’t my favorite place for Latin food. I’ve been here a couple of times and the food and service is nothing special to remember. Both times my food was bland, not to mention overly priced, in my opinion, for Mexican food.

I stopped in for lunch on a recent business trip to Saskatoon. The exterior doesn’t do the restaurant justice. The interior is colourful and warm, and the food rocks. I had vegan black bean & corn enchiladas, and they were fantastic. Great staff, food and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

I ordered the ribs, they were cold and not well marinated, I'm not picky, but when you go to a restaurant, the least you can expect is the food to be warm, very disappointed.

Addicted to the chicken pozole soup here! So delicious and inexpensive! Tried the guacamole today as well and was wicked! The fuzzy poncho tropical drink was to die for. Wouldn’t recommend the Cesar’s though. Could hardly choke it down but I don’t abuse alcohol! <br/>

Went here for supper yesterday. I ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer, which is always deliciously loaded with shredded coconut and fried to a nice, crispy golden brown. The downside to this dish is that they use the low-quality small pieces of shrimp. <br/>For the main course, I ordered the black bean and steak burrito with sweet potato fries. I didn't like the thick, red, tasteless tortilla they used to wrap my filling. They should've stuck with a white or whole wheat tortillas instead of using artificial coloured and thick wraps. The steak pieces were tender but the overall filling was lacking flavour. The burrito was half the size it normally was in the past and topped with an unappetizing salsa rather than peco de gallo. My final complaint is that my sweet potato fries were black (likely used old oil) and undercooked. Not hard to mess up fries but they sure did!<br/>If it wasn't for the friendly and attentive server and my love for coconut shrimp, I would've given a lower rating.

Came here for lunch got the pozole de pollo which is a chicken soup has nice flavorful broth with lots of chicken & they have a pozole bar to add topping to your soup. I also got the poblano pork tacos these were also pretty good pork was on the dry side but the flavor & spice was there to make up for it.

Las Palapas is a good choice for Mexican in Saskatoon. The menu is large and diverse, and most meals are very customizable with a variety of unique sides. The interior of the place is part of the charm, it kind of looks like a pinata exploded inside the building - I bet kids would really be enamored with it. <br/><br/>I recommend anything with an adobo sauce, such as the chilied pork enchiladas, but there are plenty more conservative options like quesadillas for picky eaters too. I really like the array of salsas that are served - you can pick 2 of them (there must be 4-6 different ones to choose from) to accompany your chips should you order chips as an appetizer. The use of cheddar cheese in all the dishes as opposed to queso fresco might put you off if you're looking for really authentic mexican (see La Bamba for that) but really I doubt most patrons even notice it. Portion sizes can seem a little small compared to competitors (Why are the refried beans spread so thin? It's not like they're made of gold.)<br/><br/>The location is good and bad - good because the off-Broadway geographical location means it's easily accessible but relaxed and relatively peaceful, but the building itself is quite small relative to the popularity of the restaurant, meaning that you probably want a reservation at peak times. Service has always been at least good and often great every time I've visited.

Great tacos and margaritas! The bean salad is my favourite. I love the addition of the back room, makes you feel like you are eating in a Mexican oasis.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to and the best one in Saskatoon! Their rewards program is great and keeps me coming back, I recommend their coconut shrimp, and if you like ceasers go on a Sunday for coconut shrimp ceasers! I recommend this place to anyone and I always bring friends and family there when they visit Saskatoon!

This place is the bee's knees, truly! Love the food, especially the shrimp tacos! I'm kind of hoping by low-balling you with the review I can get a little love though (sorry). It would be great if you guys could make it PAINSTAKINGLY clear what the vegan/vegetarian items are on your menu. When I'm trying to do surveys at work for where peeps want to eat, they typically skip you guys over because they don't want to parse the whole menu just to see if they can eat here.

Ugh never again. My girlfriend wouldn't stop talking about how much she was craving Mexican food, so I noticed this place was open and we decided to give it a try. She got a vegetarian burrito which ended up being full of raw onions and literally full cloves of garlic.. Raw as well... <br/>She kept crunching into them and spitting them out on the plate. My tacos were half beef and half raw onion which again is disgusting. Crazy expensive and To top it off my gf hasn't left the bathroom in the last two hours from being nauseous. Try at your own risk.

Love this place! I love the guacamole every time. It's simple, but so delicious. I also really love the pulled pork enchiladas. There is usually a wait on weekends, but it's always been worth it for me.

Was sitting at a table and tried to order something to go while I was there for supper. They wouldn't let me! They 'don't do take out past 4 pm'. Such a disappointment...

I liked the atmosphere and the decor (very bright and cheerful)! The place was busy but luckily we didn't have to wait long for a table. Service was not something to write home about, our server was just okay. I had the chilied pork enchiladas with a side of refried beans and I really enjoyed everything! I would suggest serving food on smaller plates though, or add a bit more food (second side perhaps?) so there isn't so much empty space on the plates... I would go back, the menu is quite large and there are many dishes I would like to try.

I can't say enough good things about Las Palapas. After years of visiting monthly, I have consistently had wonderful service and top notch food.

If you're feeling like a good burrito you have to come here ! They are huge and delicious. Also the coconut shrimp are the best I've had . Everything also came out so hot and fresh! The service is quick and friendly enough! Great place and close to Broadway and homestead ice cream in the summer. I have yet to try their desserts ! Definitely a great place .

The first time I was here was a year ago, I order enchiladas and coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp is good but not great. I don't like my enchiladas. <br/>For my second time here, the service is fast and my food come out within 15 mins. However, except my black bean and roast corn taco which is flavourful with really tasty salsa. The other two taco (with chilled pork and Caribbean chicken) and the guacamole is really bland. <br/>Many people like this place, but I guess I am just not that into it. With the two so so experience with the food, I will not be back.

The food here is a bit pricey, but generally delicious. I usually get the enchiladas that have seafood in them. I also really enjoy the duck quesadilla: good stuff.

Went with my wife, son and fiance for a casual dinner. A great meal over all. Shared Guacamole Fresco and Coconut Shrimp. Entrees included Pozole De Pollo, Enchiladas Chilied Pork, Enchiladas Pollo and a Big Burrito. Everyone was quite happy overall. The refried beans were quite good.<br/><br/>Good value, legit Mexican the only shared comment, the food could have been hotter (temp).

This is one of the go-to restaurants in Saskatoon that I enjoy every single time. I love the spicy chicken tacos, and the Caribbean Coleslaw is to die for. We've had excellent service every time I've been here! Will be returning for sure!

Love the chicken and charred corn burrito, and love the burrito and beer night. My main complaint for this place is the servers. Don't get me wrong there are a few GREAT servers, however I feel that more then half of the time I get a server who is slow, doesn't care and generally gives off a sour vibe.

I have come here multiple times and the food never disappoints. The service is slow once in a while, though the food and great prices always makes up for it. Will keep coming again and again :) (especially for the steak and black bean burrito, Mmmm!)

In general Las Palapas is good, but there have been some meals that were complete misses for me. The quesadilla appetizer is my favourite in the city. Do not come here on taco Tuesdays. Their tacos are dry and haphazardly slopped together. One would be better off going to taco time. The prices here are also pretty steep, definitely not a cheap eat.

I don't mind Las Palapas but it if definitely not my favourite place for this cuisine. I have had bad service there a few times. The food is okay. I will go there from time to time because it's near my place but over all if I have a craving for Mexican food I'll make the trip to La Bamba or EE. The coconut shrimp is pretty good.

One of my fav spots. Coconut shrimp is a fave, even though I genuinely hate most things with coconut. I regularly get the fish tacos, chicken enchiladas, and the veggie burrito and I highly recommend. The interior is tacky and fun

This place is one of the best in Saskatoon. First place that pops in mind if I have a friend from out of town coming to visit. Love their chickpea and black bean burrito, it is mouth watering. Their service is always fantastic as well! It also has an awesome atmosphere, this place is definitely a gem!

Went here on a date with my boyfriend and had the coconut shrimp and chicken mushroom chorizo burrito. He had a chicken quesidia. Both of us enjoyed very much. Definitely worth it, and recommendation to all my friends.

Being from out of town, I used Google maps > restaurants and this place came up near the top, and having no decent Mexican in our hometown we had to check it out. There was a 30 minute wait but it was Saturday night, and we were seated when promised, and albeit noisy at that time, the surroundings make up for it. The service was very good and the food arrival timely, and it was great to enjoy more authentic Mexican than your typical TexMex fare. The kids (5 & 7) enjoyed the food as well, and we will be back for sure!

Got the Citrus Chicken Quesadilla, which was so flavourful! The beans and rice were delicious as well! Service was great, will definitely be returning!

Best Mexican Restaurant in town!. Absolutely love this place! Do not go without getting a margarita, the coconut ones are fantastic. Have had multiple things on the menu and i am never disappointed. It is a good price with great quality!

Best Kept Secret. If Las Palapas is the best kept secret for Saskatoon, it should not be. Get the word out, it's great. Get there early, enjoy and have fun. You will not be disappointed.

Soo Soo good!. I have been eating here for over 8 years! The food quality has never changed, its always amazing! Everyone I introduce to Las Palapas has the same reaction- WOW! I stand by my favourite (Citrus Chicken Quesadilla) but have many others to suggest upon review of family and friends. Definitely one of my top 3 restaurants in the city!

The dishes ordered ranged from the Big Burrito to Honeyed Mango Chicken to Quesadillas and everything was fantastic. The service was wonderful and friendly and quick without being intrusive. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. The food is Delicious!!! The ingredients are fresh and tasty and a wonderful mix the hit your taste buds perfectly without over-powering each other. The food comes with great timing so you can enjoy the company you are with and not be starving to death waiting for your food to arrive. It is a terrific dining experience.

Cheesy goodness!. The only place in town that actually puts too much cheese on nachos (or Totopos)! Going to Las Palapas is like a mini vacation! The decor, the cups, the food, it all blends into a very unique experience. Great to escape winter, but even better to enjoy the patio in summer.

I like everything but the rasins in the tacos. I guess you could ask them to be omitted but I think the tacos would be better without rasins. crab enchiladas are the bomb though yum

Terrible Mexican/Southern/Cuban/Caribbean Food. Not sure about the identity of this restaurant. Plenty of menu choices, and that is probably the problem, it is all over the place. The Mexican options they have are nothing close to Authentic Mexican cuisine, more like Taco Time meets Jar Jar Binks (Star Wars) as the executive chef. I don't think the chef would even know what pico de gallo is, because the waitress sure didn't. Only in Saskatoon can a restaurant this terrible have a review rating this high. The best way to describe this place is two star (out of five) Cuban food with Gonzo and a Chicken (The Muppets Show) running the place. It has mismatched menu items with over 75 menu items! The food is bland, especially any chicken or beef options. All they do is smother their bland meat with pre-made (grocery store) sauces. The decor is sort of tacky, with a cheap Tijuana feel. <br/><br/>The blended Margaritas are good, along with the bottled Mexican Beer. LOL. Prices are reasonable. You get what you pay for.<br/><br/>Save your money and take a trip to Mexico.

My Favourite Place!!!. I love coming here for so many reasons; the food, the service, the atmosphere, the food! It always satisfies and is never disappointing! The best is the steak quesadillas! I could honestly come here everyday!

Awesome restaurant. The food is great and the ambience of the restaurant is excellent. They have plants and the colour of the walls and the decorations give you a feel as if you are in mexico in a tropical environment. it is a really good place to go in winter !!

Where I take my guests.. It's so easy to choose Las Palapas as the go to restaurant for my friends and family from out of town. Good service, good food. I've been hooked on Las Palapas for quite some time now. I've eaten here a number of times over the past year, and my party has yet to be disappointed. The enchiladas de pollo is my go-to, as the chicken is tender and flavourful every time I've tried it. Try the coconut shrimp as a starter; the sweetness of the crispy coconut coating is perfectly complimented by the spicy chipotle sauce that is served with it. <br/><br/>The tasty food, coupled with an attentive, friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere, makes for an enjoyable dining experience.

Ah the memories. You want the good news or the bad news first?<br/><br/>Ok ok, bad news first. Our waitress, during a busy night, was a little inhospitable. She was totally nice, but a little rushed, and resistant to accommodating some basic requests. My daughter wanted black beans added to something to mimic another dish in taco form, rather than burrito, and the waitress tried to get her to simply order the burrito dish that she didn't want. After that little snafu was resolved, the waitress took our order by memory, which was impressive, right up until I got the wrong dish given to me. I don't mean we had to switch at the table or something; I just got completely the wrong dish.<br/><br/>I had ordered the Shrimp Adobo and the waitress, who again, had written nothing down, brought me the Chicken adobo taco. I sighed and decided that I'd just eat that because heck, it was pretty darned tasty looking. When the waitress came around and asked how things were, we all agreed it was great...except for me getting something I hadn't ordered. To this, the waitress replied that there was no shrimp adobo on the menu, only chicken adobo. We all thought, "Geeze, how stupid of me to have read that so wrong!" and continued munching. Maybe I should have pushed the issue because not only is Shrimp Adobo, clearly on the menu, it's one of the house specialities! Seems like if you're taking orders by memory, you'd remember one of the house specialities.<br/><br/>All that aside, the food was incredible, as it always is at Las Palapas. It's busy for a reason and even though it's busy, you can still enjoy the company you find yourself in because it's not too loud. I'd reccomend going because the place is wonderful...though maybe you'll want to ask the wait staff to write things down.

For saskatoon, pretty good food!. Food is always hot and so filling! Shrimp tacos are my absolutely fav dish on the menu! And the nachos are hot and cheesey all the way through with 2 choices of salsa! Well done! Always bring my in laws here when they visit from BC

Okay but for the money...... Tried the crab and shrimp enchiladas but got a bit of shell ground between my teeth...... opps. For a $17 lunch I felt the enchiladas could have been bigger. not much sauce. The sweet potatoes were a bit on the soggy side. Maybe a side salad would have been nice. Daughter is vegetarian and said too bad the burrito filling is basically the same as the sides.....rice and refried beans. Been there every other month in the last few years but find the food for the price....not that great. Normally tastes great but....not enough of the main. Maybe other items than the enchiladas and quesadillas have more but that is what I have had in the past. $10-$23 for an appetizer seems high.

Blanca. My favourite restaurant since it opened several years ago and it keeps getting better. The service is great and the staff are super friendly and pleasant. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual and enjoyable dining experience. !Bueno comida!

My Second Home. My friends and I visit Las Palapas weekly and we've started calling it our second home. We can't get enough of the pazole, coconut shrimp, enchiladas, loaded nachos and traditional margaritas. If you can't get to Mexico, go to Las Palapas for an authentic and fun dining experience!

A bit of Mexico In Saskatoon. If you wish to feel like you could be in Mexico this is the place to go. Excellent food and ambiance. Sit at the bar and feel like your ordering a drink down south. Lets you forget your here in the cold.

Regular customer at Las Palapus. We go regularly to shows and then make the day complete with a visit to Palapus, at least twice per month. We have never had a bad meal since the restaurant opened. Always made to feel like family.

Rememberance Day. My girlfriend and I arrived to the restaurant, it was quite busy as a I arrived at the restaurant with my girlfriend. It only took a couple minutes before a table opened up. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a bright and authentic representation of Mexican culture. We really enjoyed our Sangria and Tropicoco drinks, were so bright flavored and savory sweet! Also we shared a variety of Tuesday taco specials, and a yummy Casa Ensalada salad, which was so satisfying! A great evening, which was will definitely left a desire for us to come back again.

Great Mexican Dining, Amazing Drinks. I love this place. My girlfriend and I go about once a month, and our friends frequent it as well. The shrimp tacos are great, but the black bean and steak burrito is my favourite. Top notch.

Excellent food, great ambiance. Love this restaurant! They never disappoint. Authentic Mexican flavours and great service. The chips & guacamole are fabulous and I would argue that they have the best sweet potato fries in the city! Gluten-free options as well. We frequent this place - even our kids (2 & 4) enjoyed their last visit!!

Best Mexican food. I went for my birthday and enjoyed the nachos, coconut shrimp, and chicken mushroom burrito. Had a margarita. The meal was fantastic and fresh authentic flavor. I would recommend it to all my friends

I didn't even make it to the restaurant because of the phone service when I called to inquire about menu/ timing - I was hung up on without a reply to my "thankyou for your help" and "goodbye".<br/>The customer service sucks.

Good food. My recent trip to Las Palapas was a good one. The food is always good. Service is decent. I do recommend the tacos. So yummy and I love their sweet potato fries. Though I think my favorite thing is the powdered wings.; Something about that sauce...

Awesome and worth the wait!. Great place, neat atmosphere, great people, wonderful food. This is one of my favorites! Probably why it's so busy and there is usually a bit of a wait for a table. They have expanded though so you can have a drink at the cool lil bar while you wait for your table which adds to the whole experience!

The wait times are usually reasonable, the service has always been friendly, and the food has always hit the spot. I am a picky eater, I only like plain food, so when I was first taken to "this Mexican place near Broadway" I was a little unsure. I agree with everyone here, the coconut shrimp is phenomenal, and the citrus chicken quesadilla is the perfect amount of flavourful for a picky eater like myself. My more daring better half thinks the Chicken Mole is fantastic, and my friends rave about the fish tacos if that's your kind of thing - apparently they are life changing!

Mouldy coconut shrimp? REALLY??. My husband and I have also been very regular and loyal customers for more than 5 years. The food has been consistent and amazingly delightful every time we have eaten there. The mouldy coconut shrimp review made me laugh. My question to you Sir, did you eat one shrimp and complain OR did you eat the whole plate and then decide it was "mouldy"? A 10% discount would suggest the latter. I hope you enjoy the other 2 Mexican restaurants in town as I suspect Las Palapas won't miss you as evidenced by the long line ups there every day.

Diner from Edmonton. This is the restaurant that my son and I always visit when mom goes to Saskatoon to feed a hungry student.. Food is great, portions are also great and the service is always good. The decor and coconut shrimp both rock.

My Puerto Vallarta in Saskatoon. This restaurant has become my husband's and my "Mexico in Saskatoon" destination. I have not had a chance to try many of the drinks on the menu because the Traditional Lime Margarita is the best in Saskatoon - although the one time I strayed and tried a Long Island Ice Tea it was excellent as well. I think that, between my husband and I, we have tried just about everything on the menu - other than the coconut shrimp, and that is just because I personally do not like coconut - my sister, however, raves about that appetizer. Burritos, enchiladas, and quesadillas have all been tried and loved. And the guacamole is made fresh when you order it - the only place I have had better guacamole has been in Mexico. The service is always fast and friendly. Although I like the new addition, as I have seldom had to wait for a table since it was opened, I also miss sitting at the bar and being entertained watching the bartender mix the drinks. Oh - I nearly forgot - you should definitely try the mango slaw!!

What a joke plate. Went on Friday with the family in order to get a good food but was one of the worst ones so far. The food took about an hour to be served plus the SPECIAL PLATE: The cuban paella was simply a mixture of rice and peas. Where was the shrimps, chicken and crawfish. Who knows. What a joke of plate and also expensive. I will never be back.

Delicious as always. Tried the quesadilla Mole Chicken. This was wonderful, but would be a bit small supper. We also had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer which made this a fulfilling meal.

Great Experience. The staff is amazing... Very Friendly and Helpful. The Food is very tasty will certainly be making this a regular stop.
