Review Nick's Family Restaurant - Sarnia

Just okay. This restaurant has been around for years and has changed ownership several times but always popular as the local greasy spoon. Hot spot for truckers and the buffet loving crowd. Decor is old and dingy. Wait staff is friendly but a few of them are not in any hurry... Lol In my experiences, the food has always been pretty good. Portions are very generous and the menu has a good variety of choices. We love the all-day breakfast. My only complaint is that there is a extra charge of $1.50 to add cheese to any omelette and it's not even real cheese, it's processed. Do not sit along the wall that backs on to the bathroom 🤢

Meat lover's buffet. Not a large buffet, but very good food. Two kinds of fish, "fall off the bone ribs", salad bar, great fried chicken and more. I would recommend this place.

This time I’m giving it 5 stars because it was great. Had the chicken Caesar wrap again, and the waitress was very attentive and quick. There was only a few others in the restaurant during down time (around 3pm), which made it a lot more enjoyable than our first experience. Prices are decent too. Might be a new regular spot for us for a quick and cheap meal. The only off thing was the beef barley soup which was very thick and did not have the best flavour.

Very busy and a bit noisy account of the many functions going on. Food was very good and service was quite fast considering all the activities.

They should have all day breakfast. Lunch was nothing special. Service was slow even though we were 1 out of 3 tables.

My boss and my dad both really enjoy eating here. It's easier on your wallet than most places, and you get a lot of food if you eat at the buffet. It has the feel of a rustic diner and each time I've been there, it has been largely frequented by seniors. The service was good, and the food was not fancy, but it's not bad. Dessert options were likely inspired by the fact that there were so many seniors there ;) I'd give it a 3.5 if half stars were options.

Everything from the hot entrees to the cold home made salads were excellent...Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, we wish her well on her trip to Greece this week. :<) Friendly atmosphere and one could tell there were many repeat customers as the waitresses seemed to know most of the patrons that were there. Always a good sign. Thanks for a great dinner folks. The only thing that could have been better were the stuffed green peppers, the rice wasn't cooked enough in them, we will try them again however next time.

Great for large groups! Can’t speak for the buffet as I only have ordered a la carte. Decor is quite dark and dingey as it was when it was the bar years ago. Food is decent and affordable. Server Crystal is a pleasure to be around and always goes above and beyond. Definitely recommend requesting seating in the front section as the back sections do not have windows. 10/10 would return.

Decided to try the buffet for breakfast with my husband and 2 year old. The buffet is not impressive. It seems like a Continental breakfast, not a brunch buffet. Bland and very little variety. It was $46 for 2 adults and a 2 year old who picked off my plate mostly. Staff wasn't friendly and we had to ask for water. We won't be going back.

The food is great and my mom and I love Nick's The food is always hot and so good and the staff are very friendly we went there yesterday for Mother's Day.

Other than taking a few minutes to greet us service was really good the food was excellent prices are great did not have the buffet but will the next time

Poor service in a not so busy environment, waited 45 min. For a salad, not impressed. Wouldn't recommend if you're in a rush for lunch.

We were visiting from Michigan, and ate breakfast there. Love the buffet. Staff was friendly. We were going to stop again this morning but there were no parking places, the parking lot was full.

Hi guy's, on behalf of the War Vet's and Friend's Club, we just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for the excellent buffet and service today! The food was delicious and everyone in our group was commenting on it today. We even heard comments from the other large group that had the Buffet saying how greatit was...! It really need updating and food was not great. I have worse but iv had better. Iv heard good thibgs about this place amd when i got there it was feally disapointing

This was the worst experience I've ever had. Had a reservation for 14 and a table that did not have a reservation was setup in the reservation part of the resturant and served before us. If u didn't get the buffet and ordered off the menu we waited an hour for 2 cheeseburgers and fries and a hamburger with fries which they put cheese on. We were told it was that busy upfront but when we went to leave none of the tables up by the bathrooms had anybody sitting there. When they know they have all these reservations they need more staff on. I saw something that I won't put in here cause it could cost someone their job.

Great place for home cooked meals...the buffets are awesome... I have had family Thanksgiving dinners there, and also pre Christmas Buffets there with large family and groups....Everyone enjoys all the choices..and abundance... Best value in Sarnia..

Had a wonderful experience with my wife yesterday...best birthday brecky I've had at a restaurant. Service was excellent...very busy, but can understand why! Will be back again for my hangover breakfast today...thanx guys.
