Review Maison St-aubin - Sarnia

Where do I start? Right from making the reservation to leaving the restaurant after our meal, my girlfriend and I had a great time. The owner is indeed a delightful man. I called to make a reservation a few days before Valentine's day, and right then when he and I were talking I realized we were in for a good night. He even went to each table at the end of the night to have a conversation with each and every one of them. Not a lot of restaurant owners do that, and I that conversation adds to that great experience we had. Our servers were knowledgeable, courteous and most importantly, joyful. And of course our food. One word : Incredible. Right from the French onion soup and mussels we got to start with, to the incredible filet mignon and rack of lamb, to the cherry on the cake of our experience, the best chocolate lava cake I've ever had, it was incredible. Their mashed potatoes also were actually the best I've ever had too. Absolutely would recommend to anyone in Sarnia looking for an absolutely great night.

Classic French bistro! French music in the background. I had the salad greens, wife had the red pepper squash soup. Excellent soup! Wife had the coconut shrimp which had a very spicy sauce. I liked it, she liked it a lot. I had the Norwegian salmon which was good. The veg including a leek was very good. All in all, a nice find in backwater town and certainly an improvement over last night at River Crab.

We recently visited St Aubin and absolutely loved our meal...the veggies were not overdone..the horseradish sauce for my pickerel was not harsh and my friend lamb was perfect !!! The staff were very attentive but not overbearing..very pleasant and timed everything perfectly. The pianist was fabulous!! We could have stayed for hours just to listen to him play. Well Done St Aubin..we will be back!!!

Very good food, attention and location. It is on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for

This was absolutely incredible. Authentic European experience, nothing was rushed, Parisien music in the background, food was incredible and our server, Chris, was fantastic and knowledgeable. The owner Marcel even played a song for us at the end of our meal. This was my first time coming here and it will not be the last. Unbelievable.

One of the best and most memorable fine dining experiences I've had. My friend and I went to Maison St-Aubin as the restaurant was by our AirBnB. We were delighted by the hospitality of the owners and by the quality of the desert and drinks. Had a great conversation with the chef and owner, Marcel. I will be back as soon as possible.

I thought this would be great place to go for a birthday dinner, well.. I ordered the pickerel...every single little bite I took had bones in it, so, I inquired about it and I was told that yes there is a few bones in this fish humm..... NO, pickerel, if it is fillet right have MAYBE a bone or two in it. My partner’s meal was so...so>>his words. Will never go back!
