Review East Side Mario's - Saint John

Good food but bad services, not welcoming staff and not friendly. They throw to you things on the table, had to ask for utensils, cthey are only about taking plates out and leave you with all garbage in front of you. They don't give you time aven though the time we came were not busy time

Don’t let the exterior of the building fool you. Its a huge, lively and happening place inside. Really good Vegetarian options and quick service.

We were quickly sat. Then nothing. A manager stopped by to say bread was coming. No drink order or nothing. No one came to our table except to drop of bread. We waited 20 minutes and left. When we left not one of the 4 staff standing at the hostess stand asked if there was an issue. We will never come back.

A genuinely magical place! Please read! The free samples were offered the moment we sat down, as not only did the menu's have lettuce in between the folds, but a few small nuggets of what I could only assume was breading from a chicken meal was under the menu on our table! After this, two loaves of bread were given to us without the hassle of plates of cutlery getting in the way (so thoughtful of them!). When the salad was brought to our tables, I truly believe they must have been reading my mind. We ALL know the struggles of eating salad leaf by leaf, right? So they gave my partner and I BOTH the bottom stock of the lettuce. So compact and convenient, no need to dig leaf by by leaf I was so overjoyed that I almost didn't even notice how flavorless the dressing was. But not only are the generous, they are also environmentally friendly :O I know this because when they brought us cutlery for our meals, they gave my partner and I ONE napkin between the two of us. Best of all though, the folks there must truly know the sense of community amongst St.John-ers, as they sat us so close to another table, just a slight turn of the head, and I was actually involved in a stranger's conversation! When we really look back at this memory we will cherish for ever, it doesn't even matter that we were dissatisfied with our food, of felt it was over priced, we were paying for the EXPERIENCE, and Noone can say that isn't worth it.

It's your standard corporate restaurant establishment experience. We went for the all you can eat pasta, soup, salad and learned that they discontinued the Primavera sauce and one of the noodle types. I presume this was a cost saving measure as this was the best sauce they had. We were fairly satisfied but don't think we'll return. As will all corporations, it's a race to the bottom. 12.99$ buys a lot of pasta sauce and noodles at the grocery and it's not like it's that much effort.

Throw a steak and/or chicken on the menu, lol. It is good food. I remind servers that most people tip not on a default percentage, but on the server's likeability. It sucks, but, if you are in that industry, you'd better learn how to act even phonier than you already are. (We are all fake, not just servers) P

Excellent service and top notch food. I highly recommend this location. My family has been going here for over 15 years and it is always a great experience.

Good to take a friend's kid out to, lots of stuff to keep them engaged. However, the food isn't good. Chick parm was heavily processed. Pasta wasn't cooked properly. Tomato sauce was a disgrace. The massive chunks of tomote still present make me wonder if they cooked it at all.

I just spent a week in New Brunswick & ate here 3 times! Unfortunately we do not have an East Side Mario's where I live so I couldn't get enough of it while on vacation! Food was delicious every time! On one of my visits our server was training another girl & of course the service is a bit slower when that happens, but I really didn't mind! Everyone has to learn at some point!

The meal was good but we were really disappointed about how much the food has changed. The salad dressing in the garden salad was bland, the croutons were too hard, the the staff's fault, I've ever noticed this change throughout the chain. Service not the best, our waitress kept commenting on kow much we were eating (I saw you and knew you were a 2 loaf table, things like that)

I would have picked five because the meal was very good. BUT we waited in line for over ten minutes waiting for a table. There were at least a half dozen tables with no one in them. The waitress made a comment that they are trying to keep the waitress/waiter and amount of tables they were working to be equal. It's not about how many tables the wait on. It's about the customer and your service. I hope that problem gets fixed because this is one of my favourite restaurants :)

Amazing place to eat, awesome food, & great service. Highly recommend East Side Mario's Saint John!

Worst place to work!!! They work you like a dog and then when you had enough they refuse to pay you all that you have legally earned! On top of it the kitchen is run and managed by pot smoking idiots who have no issues smoking a joint out back by the garbage bins. Especially the management Cash!!

Just finished a great meal at East Side Mario's in Saint John and wanted to pass along a commendation regarding our server, Joshua. He was super personable and did a great job making sure we were satisfied with all aspects of our dining experience. Kudos to you, Joshua on passing along your positive energy to our table. We all left with a smile on our face and full bellies. He's an asset to your team!

My family of 4 went there on Valentine's day for the first time. We were treated the very best.Our waitress was awesome, always checking on us and paying attention to our 2 young kids. The food was great! No complaints here!! Definitely would return.

Our complaint is about the service. We waited an hour from the time we sat to the time we were served our hot meal, with no apology from the waitress after we complained it took so long. We took our meal to go. So �

Sitting here again at East Side and it is so good.....Hells Kitchen meal exceeded our expectations....ask to be seated at Steve's section, again he has wowed us with his service....simply the best!!

I use to Love East Side Mario's Until this past Monday.� We ordered hells kitchen chicken, 2 Fish and Chips with gravy which comes with all u can eat salad and bread. Our salad was alright and bread well we were lucky to get 1. Then our waitress brings out our food. So I ask for our gravy and ketchup, She says "I will bring it right back" , Well let me tell you she didn't come right back, our aunt was done eating her chicken meal and the waitress was just bringing our gravy. She says "we had to make a new batch" Ok well maybe you should of kept our meals until the gravy was ready. Now our food is cold, the fries were not fully cooked, the fish batter was wet and soggy it was disgusting and my pop was water. VERY VERY UNHAPPY � And it was only 4 pm when we were their and the place was more then half empty. So Disappointed � � �

I went into the saint John location for lunch today, when we sat down our server was very prompt to come over get our drinks orders bread and salad, but then we waited 45 minutes for our meals. We were on a time limit to make it home for the bus so I asked if we could pay for our salad and drinks and cancel our meals. The general manager came over VERY quick to see what the problem was. From what we gather it was just a case of "to many cooks in the kitchen" the general manager put a rush on our order, packaged it to go, AND took care of our bill. This is great customer service! We will be back, everyone handled the situation great!

Ordered the pizza burger and it was so disappointing. The meat tasted awful, and it was on a tough ciabatta bun. Left 90% of it on my plate and they just took it away with no questions asked. Maybe use to that happening a lot!!!!

My group of 9 had a great experience tonight! It was a full house in there and we still had outstanding service and everyone loved their food! I highly recommend the Feta Brushetta :D

We have always had a great experience at Eastside Marios. The food is great and the all you can eat soup and salad is just that. I've never had a bad experience with a server but I imagine it does happen wherever you go so I guess we've been lucky. Food is great and that's why we go.

We sat at the bar this evening on our way to the movies. We were promptly served by Ryan L. He was very professional and served us quickly when he learned that we were there for drinks and apps. He was not at all concerned when we forgot to give him our CAA card after he had already printed our bill. He corrected it and explained how the charges work. It was great to receive good service from Ryan and he is definitely at asset to your Waite staff. Thanks Ryan we will be back and hope to be seated in his section again!

The food was delicious but the service was horrible. We sat waiting place our drink order, then once we had our order and some salad, we sat for probably 10-15 minutes with no food or drinks on our table. Our server was ending her shift and the one that was taking over looked at us probably 4 times as my husband sat and stared at her. She made no attempt to see if we needed anything. We finally got our food which was good. BUT as I'm finishing my salad she comes over with our bill and the debit machine. Excuse me I'm not finished eating and obviously not ready to pay. �. Not acceptable! Won't be going back to ESM!

Amazing staff! Was in tonight ordering food for take out and the girl running the bar was fantastic at her job! She was running the bar, waitressing, running salads, etc. I've never seen a harder working employee there. She deserves a kudos and a raise!!

This has always been my favorite place to eat .The last 3 times I have been there the food was awesome as always but the service is horrible .
