Review House Of Chan - Saint John

Great decorations for the first impression. Prices are relatively high compare to other House of Chan's and other fast food restaurants, but personally l think as a dine in restaurant with these decorations, and dishes that are more delicate, at this point they did a good job in differenciate themselves. Personally l had a satisfied, positive first time experience there, ordered a Sichuan Chicken with a cup of Wulong Tea, cost around 20 bucks included tips and taxes, plus the servers actually brought my food to me. As an American style Chinese food, they did fairly well on the food presenting and tasting.

It was the worst Chinese food I ever ate. I had been warned that it wasn't very good, but I had a terrible craving for Chinese. Ordered a combo with chicken balls, chow mein, fried rice, and spare ribs. I substituted the spare ribs for more chow mein. Ate 3 bites of chowmein with was just a veg & chicken stir-fry (not actually chow mein ), pieces of veggies were cut so large I had to cut each one 2 more times. The chicken in it was good but there was only a few pieces of chicken. Chicken balls...ate half of 1 and then tried a mouthful of the rice. It was at this point, I threw the whole combo in the garbage and got a bowl of cereal. Chicken balls had a terrible batter and the s&s sauce actually smelled funny...and tasted worse. There were tons of sesame seeds on my chicken balls. I hate sesame seeds. The rice tasted nothing like fried rice. It just tasted like white rice does when you drown it in soy sauce. Hopefully someone else will read my post and avoid the disappointment and save their money. I sure wish I had paid attention when I was told it was not very good.

Some dishes were good, some not. Kwangtung chow mein was delicious. Large egg rolls, also good. Tofu stir fry... Not good. Friendly staff.

I just purchased take-out at this location. I order the padh thai which is one of the best gluten free options in this area. I was driving home and two deer ran out in front of my vehicle. I jammed on the breaks and my take-out order went flying through the air off of my passenger seat and into the back of the passenger footwell. I was pleased to discover, after I had arrived home, that the contents were perfectly intact and that the lid was still very secure. Good job! Keep putting those lids on tight, you never know in Millidgeville!

The service itself was good but the food, not so much. Chicken balls were hard, rice had a weird taste and chow mein was terrible. The only thing that was good was the egg role. Will not be going back to this place.

Awesome food, great attentive staff. Couldn't actually ask for more. If any restaurant deservers to actually survive in this wonderful little city, its those folks. Yellow curried chicken was more home cooked feeling than just about any Thai restaurant I've ever been.
its me
Not happy with the food. It was soggy and over priced for the portions. I asked for an upgrade to chicken fried rice that cost an extra $4 plus tax. I received no chicken in one order and 3 little pieces in the other the size of peas. I called and was greeted with a pompous attitude. Don't waste your time or money.

Beef and broccoli was extremely salty, chicken was very tough. I am stretching it a bit giving a three star.

Stopped in for supper to go tonight and was very pleased! Definitely not as much food as some cram in the styrofoam containers, HOWEVER, it was more than enough! The wait wasn't long and the food was hot, fresh and delightfully tasty! We'll be back :)
