Great place to eat! We were looking for a place to eat fish and chips and stop by North Market Seafood. The experience was amazing. They had good priced fish and chips and portion was generous. The lady working was really nice and helpful. She even gave us a free chowder sample! I recommand anyone visiting saint-john to stop by and eat here.
Ordered 2 lobster cooked and a 5lb bag of mussles for a special event and everything was perfection! The customer service I receive on a regular basis from those great guys that work there is always the best. Thanks so much :)
These guys are top rate! Products are highest quality and their customer service is the best!
I had gotten away from buying seafood at the market in recent years, but picked up some plump, succulent shrimp yesterday from North Market Seafood. Delicious! I definitely won't be going back to the packaged frozen variety from the grocery store.Looking forward to trying the fish cakes tonight.

We go there a couple times a month and Brad always serves us and we think he's amazing. Thanks for the great service!
Definitely the best smoked salmon I've ever had and the freshest tuna steaks around!
Sexiest boss I've ever met !!
Beautiful place to buy fresh local foods and products. You must visit the 'Uncorked Tours' bar! Bring your lunch and enjoy some greats local drinks!
Great place to shop local products. I took some nice photos to add my social media. I am uploading here too..
Quite an interesting market to visit. There were a lot of vendors. This was our first time, and one can only assume pre Coronavirus this place would have been packed. There's a lot of vendors here, ranging from food, to clothes and everything in between. One of the few places I've seen with some British treats in Saint John for anyone from overseas craving a little taste of home.
Great place to have lunch and escape the rain. Souvenirs also!

This is a must if you visit Saint John, this City Market is a modest sized venue where you can find some fresh and excellent quality products. Shops I remember as a tourist with only a few visits are: section with Jarritos (Mexican pop), meat and fish that seem fresh and deliciousl. Or maybe you just want to go look for a delicious but simple breakfast spot: Slocum & Ferris.
If you are not interested in food, there are two things that will make it worth your visit:
- Fiddling Ferns stall, with really super cool designs from the local artist studio printed on tea towels, napkins, t-shirts, greeting cards, etc.
- The Butcher's Daughter, a shop next to North entrance, with some really amazing hand made pottery artifacts ranging from the typical mugs and yarn holders to earrings, trays for appetizers and tea sets.
All of the vendors were really friendly. Each area was was closely supervised and there was always someone nearby to answer a question. I highly recommend this place.
Always been a favorite spot for me since I grew up in Saint John. The SJ City market is a great escape from everyday life. People are great, food vendors are friendly. Amazing place to see and experience
