Review Steamers Lobster Co. - Saint John

The experience was wonderful! The service was fabulous and the dinner for 2 was a great deal with quality seafood. Though I will say the food lacked slight seasoning, it’s nothing you can’t add with an order of garlic butter and some salt and pepper on the table. Go for the clam chowder over the seafood chowder.

The portion is big! The two ladies served us on 7th Sep night were amazing. None of the food went wrong at all, we ordered bacon wrapped scallops, 1.25lbs lobster, bucket of mussels and seafood chowder! All recommended!

Clean restaurant with great, friendly service and what to me, is fresh seafood. My partner and I started with the perogies and both had the fisherman's feast which came with scallops, shrimp, muscles, and a small lobster tail. Your choice of rice or fries. So why the 2 stars only? Although the food is fresh, it lack a lot of flavour. Like no seasoning at all. No salt. Nothing. Our butter had zero flavour but what was worse the shrimp and lobster tail too had no flavour whatsoever. Usually the butter has some salt and garlic flavoring but that was not in this case. The food wad absolutely bland from the rice to the lobster tail. We were both. Very disappointed. Other reason for 2 stars - price. Extremely overpriced and realistically for what you pay for, you'd expect some flavour to the food. We arrive ar 645 for 7pm reservations. There was only one other table with us in the entire restaurant. By the time we finished an left, there was another table only...I think. That should've been a hint. Anyway in my opinion it was overpriced and lack flavour. Our meal for the two us with nothing but water for drinks including tax was $175 (two fisherman's feasts, a perogy appetizer, and a chocolate brownie for dessert). Not worth it for what you get. Again, staff are friendly though.

Amazing place. Fun atmosphere the food and drinks were delicious and it was very baby friendly. We went in about 45 minutes before closing after a long travel day and we didn't feel rushed at all. The staff was absolutely amazing and entertained our 9 month old by showing her a live lobster. She loved and so did we 10/10

Food was great. Service was good. Pricing was more than fair. We had the shore lobster meal for 2 that included chowder, mussels and 2 lobster. We both order drinks and a side of sweet potato fries. We were pleased with the whole meal and had a terrific time!

The steamers are fabulous! Plump, moist and a burst of the sea in every bite. I liked that they weren't overly seasoned, all i needed to do was dunk them into butter and pop them in my mouth. I regret my decision to not go back for a 3rd or 4th bucket of the steamers. The fried calamari are also excellent but the portion is a bit skimpy. The clam chowder is decent. The prices are much higher than I remember from previous visits, even accounting for the proximity to the cruise ship.

Wings are yummy.. but I don't suggest the calamari from their menu... everything else is so good.

Where to begin...let's start off with giving this place 5 stars and minus 1 for everything wrong. Ordered the fisherman's platter and calamari, friends ordered the lobster dinner for two. Seafood chowder is similar to the clam chowder at Tim Hortons. Received the calamari, it was fried a dark brown and tasteless -1. Then came the fisherman's platter. Fried clams, fried scallops and fried fish. All a dark brown and tasted disgusting a sign of dirty/reused oil -1. I had to take off the batter from the fish and it was bland. Friends got their lobster dinner. Lobster was rubbery -1. Coleslaw had a weird taste to it, some herb/spice added to it. Almost like they're trying to use it to mask something -1. Corn on the cob was rubbery as well -1. I don't know how people can think the food is fresh or how bad the food is on these cruise ships are for people to give it 5 star on other review sites. If the food was actually fresh, they thoroughly ruined it. Score is 0 stars, I'll give them 1 star for the tap water. 30 minutes later. Back at the hotel and straight to the washroom.

Enjoyed dinner here with family from Ontario. They loved the lobster rolls, I had The seafood salad. Our server was gracious enough to concoct a salad dressing to my specifications. Highly recommend the blueberry cobbler!

My Fiancé is away from the Maritimes often working hard in Alberta.. so when he comes home, we head to Steamers for his seafood fix! Unfortunately this evening they were sold out of a lot of seafood. Which means: 1. They had a very busy weekend, because of the Tall Ships in the harbour. (Popular Place!) 2. Of course they were sold out, everything is always so fresh! (And delicious!) But, When we found out they were out of clams, we decided to head to another seafood restaurant. Instead of the waitress being upset about losing the service, she thanked us so much for coming in - & covered our drinks - asking us to promise to return! The staff is super friendly, the food is always great! If there was a choice of 10 stars, Steamers would get it!

What a great family experience! The staff were super friendly, they let the kids handle the live Lobsters and took the time to answer their million questions about this delicious shellfish. The food was fantastic! Thanks to our server BJ for your patience and perfect table side manner

Great food but unfortunately I found it was really slow service. Myself and a couple friends sat on the patio outside and it seemed like we waited a long time before i got really impatient and decided to wave down a waitress inside because it appeared that they kept forgetting about us. Aside from that, the food was amazing and delicious. Great cooks at least.

Pretty good personality on the bartender BJ. BUT the prices are ridiculous!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy..

My family visiting from Ontario dropped $250 dollars on the meal. My dad order coconut shrimp and they came out black on the outside and raw on the inside. We politely asked the waiter to put in another order and cook them through, the second time they were cooked (and not raw) but black on the outside. They tasted burnt. She told us"that's the way they are done", totally not true. We payed the bill, left a 25% tip because it's not the waiters fault.. but my dad was really really not happy with the whole deal. Buns and chowder were good. I had lobster and it was okay, not great. Much better places to go. When your paying over $50 bucks a person it should not come out black! Sorry, usually don't complain. But please don't expect a nice meal here.

This place is excellent! Great seafood! & we got some history on the restaurant and Saint John NB from the waiter. (Can't remember his name). We would definitely go again. Highly recommended!

We happened upon this restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat. We had the fish & chips which were awesome- crispy and fresh. Their fresh homemade dessert was delicious. The server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Great experience overall.

You have got to go to Steamers for seafood! They have way more than lobster and it's all incredibly delicious! Take your friends! Take your family! Have some clams! !! They are so good I had more for dessert! !!

The wait staff were friendly and their steamed mussels were fantastic. The wine glass was dirty, and main course wasn't served until 57 minutes after apps! Then it was just ok, not fantastic. For $157 for 2 it should have been awesome. Disappointed.
