Review Happinez - Saint John

Rebecca “Becky” Chickering
Excellent wine bar, loved the froie gras. Nice wine selection. Friendly staff!

Very quiet unusual setting from what I'm used to but nice. The hostess knew her wine. The girls loved the marble table. You have to go and check this one out

A beautiful intimate wine bar in a cellar type setting. So romantic! We had an incredible bottle of red and 3 cheeses. We felt the prices were very reasonable. See pics

Go for the punz alone! The interior space is cozy and delightful, the selection of wines excellent, and the service very well-informed and helpful. The location is also excellent, near to other establishments in downtown Saint John.

Very quaint location. Small, close feel to it. It definitely has a maritime look, with the rustic boarding and dim lighting. Good selection of red wines. Very great little spot, however the service is either great or mediocre. Would recommend for sure!

Peter is such a great host. The wines are great and the bar is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Drop by and ask for recommendations, the owner will be more than happy to offer his favourites and maybe a few stories with it. Cheers.

Happiness is a cozy wine bar in the heart of uptown St. John. There are always at least 10 bottles or white and 10 bottles of red wine from which to choose. Mat is knowledgeable and more than happy to work with you to find your right wine or construct the perfect wine flight. Seating is plentiful and accommodating. Pricing is reasonable ($9-12 for a glass). The only downside is that no side dishes are available (peanuts may be available). Suitable for a pre or post dinner drink or a get together with friends.

I love this place!! It is so cute and cozy. A great spot for a girls night, date night, after work drinks or to catch up with friends. Feel free to kick off your shoes, bring a blanket, cozy up and drink some wine! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes you dont know if you should go up and get drinks or wait because the service can be very slow. Also, the wine selection doesnt include enough local/east coast selections as someone who is a huge supporter of local wine. The selection also doesn't change that often (some selections seem to always be there and could be subed out or the list could be added to). There are also no games or entertainment which is too bad, you could bring your own but they could at least have a couple packs of cards or something.
