Review La Coureuse Des Greves - Saint Jean Port Joli

Came across this place as we were driving by. Dog friendly patio which was nice but the service could be better. We had to wait a while to be seated and were not greeted by anyone nor talked to for 5-10 minutes which didn't seem right. However, once we sat down the rest was pretty smooth. My boyfriend and I both got the ham eggs benedict and it was sooo good! The hollandaise was perfect and the ham was think and delicious! The food also came with lots of side fruits which was nice and a side of toast with butter which we didn't expect! I believe that the meal also came with a free drink. I got coffee and my bf got orange juice and they were both good. Again, service could have been better because they didn't explain this but I guess it was a nice surprise.

I booked an Airbnb at Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies and there is no place to get food around within walking distance so I decided to have a super early dinner at Saint-Jean-Por-Joli. I went to this restaurant and the staff was super friendly. She let me took my bike on the porch since it was raining. I ordered canard confit, it’s a bit dry but the salad was very fresh. It’s a lovely restaurant.

The food was just okay, nothing special, while the prices seemed to suggest otherwise. We were in a bit of a rush at lunchtime, but there were 3 servers and the place wasn't full, so we thought it wouldn't be an issue. Except it was. We stood waiting at the sign asking us to wait to be seated for at least 5 minutes. We said Bonjour and smiled at 2 waitresses, one of whom was just standing around sipping water. Maybe seating people isn't her job, but she could have said to us that someone would be with us shortly or to seat ourselves at a clean table. We were finally seated and given menus but it took forever to have someone take our order. We stared down each staff member who passed by but they didn't even look in our direction. One waitress didn't look up at all. The service deserves 1 star only.

Excellent service. Very Friendly. That includes the kitchen staff. Prices are a little high but well worth it for the quality of product. The art work on display is all locally created and is for sale.

Very tasty and different from typical places. Great to taste the local food! I had the salmon salad and it was delicious

The fish soup was delightful but the salad was past its prime.

Great tasting food presented beautiful and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back!
