The staff are amazing! So efficient, friendly and accommodating. Our fav neighborhood place.
Big servings, fast service, comfortable setting. I've never been disappointed here

I was so excited when I heard that Victoria was opening an OJ's as I've always loved the one I go to in Vancouver. My friends and I go often and every single time we have great food accompanied with great service. The waitresses always listen to what we want and our requests if we need extras throughout the meal. I will say I am very impressed. To be honest, if the food remained the same good quality but the service was awful, I would not be going there. I appreciate the hard work the servers, chefs and everyone put into making our experiences at OJ's a fantastic one.
The only time I've been disappointed is when they removed the "Buy a drink and get half off on all appetizers" because I'm on an extreme budget and that was perfect for me. That deal was also for 7 days a week after 9pm. For that deal, my entire meal including drink was $7.38 if I got a pop and the Poutine. Sometimes I'd also order the Chili Lime Chicken so it would bring the total to around $13.00.
The deal they have on now only runs from Sunday-Thursday from 9pm-12pm and is "Buy a drink and buy one appetizer, get a second appetizer of equal or lesser value for free." Now I need to have 2 appetizers even if I only want one and also, my bill has gone up $10 so by the time I pay for my bill + tip it's $20+. I'm sad about that. Also sad the deals don't run on the weekends anymore. :(
Also, it would be nicer if you had less tall bar stool chairs and more regular height because not everyone is tall or comfortable sitting on those chairs. Just saying. ;)
But still, the food is awesome and the service is awesome. If OJ's decides to bring back the other deal, I'd love them even more. I have reduced the amount I've visited OJ's since they changed the deal, therefore making less money off of me and my friends. *shrug* Oh well. I highly recommend this place!
ALSO the Poutine has mushroom gravy, not beef, so vegetarians can eat it - BONUS!

My friend and I have been having off days on Wednesdays & Thursdays for the past month. I believe there is a different chef then before because the food is always sub-par on those two nights and only those nights. The chili lime chicken is always cold (not even warm) when it reaches my table, dark, dark brown and taste like burnt oil and the sauce is usually skimped on. Also the cucumber slices and noodles are skimped on as well. I refuse to eat meat that isn't hot when it gets to my table, I don't want to get sick. The poutine isn't seasoned as much as usual and so it ends up tasting more like oily fries then poutine. They also skimp on the gravy and cheese those nights as well.
EVERY night other than Wed &Thurs are fantastic, food is on point and great. However, service is always amazing, even on the food off nights. A huge thank you to the awesome manager and servers, you guys are always accommodating and kind, even when we have complaints. I really appreciate that and for that, you've gained a loyal customer for life. :)
Food is always delicious, service is polite, personable and timely. Definately a family favourite👍🏽😎
Food was good, service was okay (res move in day at UVIC.)
Havent been to this neighbourly restaurant in...years! Still pretty good since the last time. Nachos were delicious, but a bit on the pricey side... it shouldnt cost that much, it doesnt even have meat! Drinks were decent for what it is.
We ordered nachos and some appies with approximately 180 dollars worth of drinks. The nachos came with almost zero cheese on them so we asked to get a bit more and we're charged 5.00 for a sufficient amount of cheese. The amount on it before was laughable. I would expect that was a gimme after the bill we racked up.

Great. This restaurant has ups and downs and very poor service . However, the food never disappoints. This is my go to restaurant and Is is priced quite fairly.
Great!. Went here with trepidation with my family of 6. (trepidation after the Applebees fiasco). Pleasantly surprised, happy attentive wait staff. Food was good. I would say real food (as opposed to white spot , red robin) . Just a small step below Earls. But happy to have a good place in my neighbourhood. The best deal is the half price appies every day after 9 pm (shh don't tell anyone).
Had to write this review , very pleased with the food and service!
Way to go!
It's all Good at O.J.'s. Great room, great food, reasonable prices, good location, great service, extensive and varied menu, what's not to like? Had the Pacific Noodle bowl and sampled some of the poutine. Both fantastic. Noodle Bowl was the largest size bowl I have ever seen in a restaurant. Tons of good noodles, chicken breast, veggies and prawns. Also had lots of big screen TVs, which makes it great for watching sports. This place just might become a new favourite hangout. I'll definitely go back. Good work OJ!
Good lunch & service. Good selection and our server was very attentive. None of us could finish the generous portions. We really liked how the main entres included two sides. I had a caesar wrap with chicken and it came with a quinoa side and steam veggies. Nice.
We sat outside as the pub atmosphere had music too loud. Other clients seemed to be middle age and possibly they would have enjoyed a bit quieter as well. Minor though.
Great addition to the neighborhood. I was very surprised with some of the other reviews and ratings as my husband and I are not usually fans of chain restaurants but had never tried Original Joe's before but were blown away with how good it is. There aren't too many restaurants in Gordon Head so my husband and I were keen on trying this restaurant soon after it opened. We drove by and saw crowds of people waiting outside and continued on. The restaurant came to mind again last night and we decided to give it a try. The opening crowds had diminished although business was fairly brisk on the outdoor patio where we chose to eat. The interior had more of an upscale bar atmosphere and the music was louder. Service was top notch. The menu was very interesting and well priced. We had difficulty making a decision as there were lots of tempting options. We chose a summer style bottle of wine which was also reasonably priced along with fish tacos and the cheddar soup. All were excellent. We will be back soon to try some of the other options.
We came for late lunch. Good lettuce wrap. We wii drop by again
Good Experience!. Went for an early dinner on a weekday. The restaurant was not very full when we got there. The service was pleasant and fast. I thought the prices were good, and I liked how you could choose two sides with your meal. There were lots of choices for sides, I think 8 or so. My boyfriend had a steak sandwich, requested mid-rare. He decided it was a bit undercooked for his liking, but it tasted pretty good so he didn't take it back. When the server came to check-in on us, he mentioned it was a bit underdone but he didn't require another meal. Even though he didn't take it back, the manager gave us a 20% discount on our meal, which I thought was very nice. Overall, we had a great experience here.
My boyfriend and I have been here twice now since it opened and I believe we will go back. The food is good, everything from the chicken rice bowls to the burgers, chicken strips, and fish and chips. It has all come out in good time and nice and hot. We both like the big portions as you never leave here hungry. The service is good but not experienced. If I had to guess our server the second time around was brand new to the restaurant business. However that will change with time. The hostess was lovely and very helpful. They could turn the heat up a bit or the cold air down but I am just being picky. Everything was great and we will definitely be going back.
Great service. Food is just okay and pricey, like all food these days. I enjoyed the Birria Burger special because there was extra meat, not just the thin, from-frozen patty.
Haven't been here in years. I forgot the sauce that comes with the fries is amazing! MMM!
I tried for the first time brussel sprouts appetizer, and wow!!! So freaking tasty!!! Next time I'll just eat those two orders lol
Always a safe choice. Large place with a great atmosphere. Happy hour deals are worthwhile and not small (we always wind up over ordering). Nice to note they use a non-paper straw (though also not plastic I believe) so you don’t have to bring your own :)
Super delicious!!
Good casual restaurant.
The food takes a while to serve, but it's all worth it until you taste it, original Joe's is my FAVORITE restaurant out there, I would come here all the time if I could
I 100% recommend to come here, and maybe to bring your kids if you want.
I suggest you trying their French onion soup, they make ot very flavorful, definitely recommend!! 😋🍔🍤
BRING YOUR APPETITE!!
I ordered the pulled pork poutine and the huge plate that came was enough for 3 people 🙃 portions are very generous not to mention delish! My friend ordered the fish tacos which were incredible!
Lovely server as well.
My favourite Westshore casual dining spot! Customer service is always friendly and professional, food is tasty and good value, lots of TVs to watch the game while you eat, clean bathrooms, timely service; what more can you ask for?? Thanks to the whole team for setting a very good standard, see you again soon.
Went out with friends for drinks and dessert. Not too busy at 7 pm, which was nice. Desserts were really good! Restaurant clean. It was your basic chain sit-down restaurant, nothing really special or awful about it.
The food at Original Joe's was great. The pork dry ribs were truly delicious. The service was slow but maybe because it was a weekend, however the ambience was delightful.
We had lunch here with friends and we all had a good lunch. The Chicken Wrap was very good and a big portion as well. We also had the Pulled pork and a burger.
This is a nice place, good service, and good prices. The food could be tastier I had the teriyaki rice and was a bit salty than I expected. Dry ribs was salty too. My hub had the original burger and that was ok.
For cocktails I found some classics as white sangria and it was good.
I would come back on the future to try something different and hopefully will be better.
Service was top notch this time around.Paige our server was fantastic and checked off all the Mark's! Calamari..brussel sprouts and the dry ribs yummy!
Great food here, I had the hot chicken sandwich and the pulled pork is always a winner.
Not sure if it's the acoustics but It always seems to be very very loud inside.
Always love me some OJ's!! Everything I have had there has been delicious! It's nice to know that no matter what I order or what day I go, the food is always prepared exactly to expectation!!
This family friendly restaraunt is a great way to have a relaxing and calm lunch! They have a great variety in the menu, there's TV's with multiple channels including sports, the drink menu is I believe diverse with cocktails, beers, hard liquor etc. It's usually really clean and they have great deals on wings I believe on Tuesdays!
The waitresses are friendly and the food is consistent. Parking is good and the location is conveniently located near Westshore Shopping Centre and the newly built Belmont Market. There are lots of seats so generally there is not much of a wait. Popular with the locals especially during Friday afternoon lunchtime.
I enjoyed the meal I ordered as did my wife. The place is clean and the service amazing. Job well done.
