I have never had a meal here that I did not enjoy. They have the most consistent level of quality in all of Victoria. It's counter service, so the wait is short to non-existent. Great steamed milk. Best hollandaise in town. Prices are so low that I don't want to mention them in case they get wise... $10.95 for a 3-filling omelette and cheese is included? Crazy goodness.
I've never been disappointed at Urban Cup. Great breakfasts (though if you're especially concerned about oil then I don't recommend the hash browns, but only if especially concerned). Good coffee, pleasant atmosphere, just a solid breakfast cafe overall.

Great Breakfasts!. I really like this cafe. Good service and good food. Most of the good breakfast places in this city are downtown, so its nice to have one closer to home. At busy times it can be difficult to find a seat, but just wait a couple of minutes and something will open up.

Mostly good. Went for lunch with my honey on a Saturday. There is plenty of seating for a coffee shop, an unexpected surprise! The service was really friendly, quick, and easy. No complaints. The coffee was yummy, and they told us we can have 2 free refills for the cost. Nice! We shared a cookie, it was excellent.
The not as good part: we had ordered two veggie panini sandwiches. Prior to ordering I observed that they keep their sandwiches pre-made in a deli case in the front of the store and I was a little hesitant. I understand that this saves a lot of time, especially if the shop gets busy. However, in the case of a veggie sandwich, there are a number of ingredients that have a lot of water content, specifically tomato slices among a few other things. What happens here after the sandwich sits: the nice juicy tomato fluid soaks the bread of the sandwich. I don't want sponge sandwich. It's like eating wet cake, like when you have cake and ice cream, you know? But I said hey let's take a chance... see how it goes. Delivery of the sandwiches was quick and then I do the check. Yup, bottom side is pretty wet, top is not. I ate it, it was still edible. And, I am thinking had it not been sitting and soaking up fluid for several hours, it would have been fantastic, because it was still pretty tasty. Suggest to owner perhaps you could wait until before grilling to add those wet tomatoes? That would make the sandwich much better!! thanks!
Will I be back for a sandwich? probably not. I will be back for coffee and a cookie, maybe a bagel. The coffee was really good. I might even try a salad and see how that goes, next visit.
The urban cup cafe is a great place for a hearty and healthy breakfast and lunch served by some of the greatest staff in the city. My boyfriend and I have become regulars at this establishment because they are simply the best in terms of variety and flavor. There is always a specialty egg of the day served with a big serving of hashbrowns and toast. I would only recommend substituting a fruitcup for one of those carbs if you want a healthier alternative. Blueberry pancake day is my personal favorite though! The fernwood coffee and scones/baked goods are highly recommended as well. Most of all, I appreciate that the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the owner always remembers us and thanks us. Delicious!
Food was good service was as well but for the size of the meal it's a tad bit over priced, grilled ham and cheese was good but $$$.
I have been enjoying the great service and food in this popular cafe since it opened. It is always busy but there is always a table ready. The Urban Cup is a good community cafe.
Consistently good value!. I go there at least once a week, for 18 months now. so do several of my hospital colleagues. Wish it were open later (closes around 4?). But breakfast is what it's about. Omelettes with endless list of ingredients (no exra charge). Panfried potatoes freqently undercooked. Complaints (rare) taken seriously and remedied. Endless coffee refills (Fernwood Coffee, local roaster). Staff consistently friendly.Owner on the floor and behind the counter. .
Warm and cozy, great breakfast. The little cafe was bustling on a Saturday morning at 11 a.m. There was only one empty table and we were lucky to get it. Lots of both breakfast/brunch and lunch items on the chalkboard menu. I decided on the "breakfast bunwich" that consisted of two fried eggs, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato between a kaiser. Brilliant. My friend ordered a more standard plate of toast, bacon, scrambled eggs and hash. The potatoes were really good and different -- instead of deep fried they appeared to be roasted and sprinkled in a seasoning. Perfect place to stop by on a weekend without having to make the trek downtown.
OK!. Busy little place...tasty breakfast. My potatoes were dry.

Great breakfast menu but don't like the fact that you order at one counter, then pay at another, then find a table to sit at. I prefer to be served.
I came here a few weeks ago and it is one of my favourite places to get brunch. Trust me the Bulgogi Benny does not disappoint! I love their hollandaise sauce that they make, it’s so buttery and creamy. The hash browns are nice and crispy too! The Turkey Panini was also really good as well! I liked how we can choose hashbrowns, a cup of soup or a house salad as a side, which comes with all their lunches! Their Morning Glory Muffin is a must! I will be defiantly go back to try their other muffins since there are lots of different options to choose from :)

No nonsense café with tasty coffee, yummy breakfast menu and assorted sandwiches plus salads for lunch. Ordered at the counter and got our food in good time. Chicken Cobb salad was generous and full of fresh veggies. Prices reasonable for good quality.
Lovely little cafe. The blueberry muffins were literally the best I have ever had! Staff are super friendly as well!
The atmosphere was pretty plain in the seating area, but it was nice that outdoor seating was available as well!
Been here several times and food has been consistently good. Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of parking spots available in the lot. However, they only have one cook working most of the time so expect to wait a bit.

One of my favorite stops on this end of town! Anywhere I can get an omelete after work is perfect to me! Staff are really great and they've done a great renovation fairly recently. So glad to support this business. Food is great and so is the coffee and baked goods!!!
Cute little coffee shop to start off the day! Loved their latte’s, and they have a variety of other great drinks as well. I had the The smoked meat sandwich with a side of hash browns. I enjoy the use of a burger bun instead of regular bread. Breakfast was great along side my latte.
Food is a little pricy and the portions are small compared to other areas.
I really enjoy having a morning cup while I do some work!

Was here every morning, the 3 days I was in Vic. Worth it.
We stopped in for lunch when we saw the all day breakfast sign. The staff was friendly, the food was delish for a little coffee shop. Everything was clean and looks like they are going above and beyond to make patrons feel safe with covid. Definitely will stop in again when we are in the area.

Breakfast here is delicious. Can’t go wrong with the Eggs Benedict with potatoes. All the baked goods we have had are also amazing!
Main complaint/ thing I wish they would change is that they use farmed salmon :(

Pretty nice place for brunch! The menu has a fair selection of food, in addition to the daily baked goods they have on display, but it felt a little limited for those with a sweet-tooth (no french toast, pancakes only available on certain days of the week). I understand they may just have too small of a kitchen to make it work. Besides that, plenty of interesting brunch plates & sandwiches. The staff are super friendly and helpful, no complaints there! The have outdoor seating and although they have WIFI, it was not working. This may have been because we sat outside in some sort of dead-zone.
This place is the best hidden gem in the Shelbourne area. I’ve been coming here to write multiple times a week all year and the vibes have never failed me. Laid back and friendly atmosphere, cool people, quick turnover. It’s just the right level of bustling to give me an afternoon of perfect focus. The food is great (smaller portions though, keep that in mind) and they do the best London Fog I’ve ever had!! Most underrated cafe in Vic for sure, I will miss it dearly when I move out of the area!
