Enjoyed a lunch there reuniting with two high school friends - good choice of venue. Sometime later tried their 3-course Tuscan dinner - will definitely go again.
Food was absolutely amazing, atmosphere was fantastic and the staff was very friendly! My wife and I came here for our 9th anniversary, and will definitely be coming back next time we are in Victoria!

Restaurant was full on a Friday night (a neighbourhood hot spot). Made reservations for a large group of us for a special occasion and we were accommodated at a long table with no problems. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the restaurant is a designated historic building at over 100 years old (the original municipal hall of Saanich) and the atmosphere is nice and open with a west coast Mediterranean vibe. The outside terrace looks like an inviting space. Servers were young but friendly and attentive for such a large party. Most of us ordered the 4-course Tuscan Table - antipasto, soup/salad, entree, dessert - available after 4:30pm for $23-$25. A few options per course and menu changes monthly. Limited vegetarian. Fair price for experience, and food was quite good (and comparable to Fireside across the street).

Have had lunch here many times. This was only my second dinner. Service was great, like always. The server very attentive without disturbing. Ordered steak frities, steak was a perfect medium rare as ordered.
Had a nice patio lunch with my family on a rare warm long weekend! We got our food late compared to the tables around us but at least we weren't in a hurry! Our server was very friendly and quick to check on us, refill waters, provide lemons for our waters, and extra napkins. Food tasted great. My seafood crepe was a smorgasbord of shrimp, salmon, and scallops. I got their soup of the day which was a curry chicken with onion and beans. Delicious. My lunch party had the blackened snapper and the deviled red snapper from the featured lunch menu. I enjoyed the menu items and will definitely come back.

Try the Tuscan Table. The Med Grill is one of a few restaurants in the area that I go to on a semi-regular basis.
The food: The food is mediterranean- italian style and they offer a changing monthly "Tuscan Table" menu that I get most often. It is a 4 course meal for $20-$23 and you can choose from several options. We recently went there during dine around because they actually had a better deal/menu than the dine around restaurants this year. The Tuscan Table is a nice option because I find myself more willing to go outside my comfort zone and try something new. I haven't been disappointed yet!
The service: The service has always been great! On one occasion my hubby ordered the steak and it was overcooked. Our server (I think his name was Jason) was fabulous. He took it away right away, and quickly brought back a fresh and perfectly cooked steak. He made sure to check on us after as well. Not only that but he also offered a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert which was much appreciated. These types of gestures go a long way!
The decor: The restaurant itself is really nice on the outside and the inside just as nice. It is quite busy and therefore can be a little loud but it's never bothered me. The lighting is nice and dim in the back which makes the atmosphere more romantic, I think.
Surprisingly impressed!. Tonight was my first ever visit to this restaurant. I must admit, I was not expecting much and had never even heard of the restaurant until last week. However, I was thoroughly and wonderfully impressed! The service was quick, the food was delicious- especially given the price- and the atmosphere was comfortable and cozy. I will definitely be back! I am almost in disbelief about how delicious all my food was. Great job to the FOH and BOH staff, and thank you for a wonderful experience!
Love it!. I had never been here before so my fiance and I went last friday night..... lots to choose from that all sounded soooo yummy! Food was excellence, service was great and the drinks were amazing! I will be going back again and again!
Wonderful food and service! Our waiter Alistair went out his way to make our Anniversary dinner absolutely fabulous! The four course Tiscan Table was perfectly prepared and served. The special touches like the heart shapes incorporated into a cocktail and dessert made us feel special! Overall ut was fabulous!
Mixed review. I enjoy some of the food but service is painfully slow and menu a bit lacking . food presentation is not bad, space is limited as it is a small establishment.
wouldn't complain but not rushing back ...have been twice now, both birthday occasions as I would not choose this restaurant on a regular night. giving thumbs up only because I dont actually dislike but its a questionable thumbs up considering the prices are a bit steep as well.(p.s have yet to try burger here had ribs both times and was satisfied)
Tuscan Table. Nice way to have a meal with your significant other (you will be full by the end). Like the variety. Wine is just to pricey at $9.00 per glass It is just wine!
I'm Sold !. Had dinner here last night, a favorite of the inlaws ! 3rd time going there for me with the inlaws(party of 4) and we always get the Tuscany option/dinner. I'm a big eater and usually put off by small portions but my eyes deceive me every time I eat here.
I usually assume I'm going to be starving after leaving but this has never been the case. I always end up at home afterwards feeling full - no bedtime snack !
I had the lamb shank and all the meat fell off the bone with no effort - amazing !
All options had by everyone at my table was a hit ! Whatever we ordered from the Tuscany menu we were all very satisfied and very happy with our choices.
Service was great even though the place was really busy, the staff were still able to take good care of us.
Looking forward to dining here in 2014
Great food and service! The only complaint is poor acoustics, so it's a bit loud.
Service is everything. Service at lunch time was a bit slow at the start, the young women serving tables seeing more interested in chatting with each other than keeping in contact with the customers. Med Grill management should really get a handle on this as it creates a bad impression regardless of the overall dining experience.
On the other hand, our server took the time to fix a wobbly table. When my tablemate stepped away just before her meal arrived, he also offered to take the plate back to the kitchen to keep the meal warmed until she returned. It’s staff who take time on those little things who make the customer feel valued and wanting to come back.
I have been to med grill several times and enjoyed the 4 course dinner. Service is always great, and the value is fantastic. I have seen a couple review claiming its over priced or the food was not perfect blah blah, for $22 you are getting great service and overall an enjoyable 4 plate meal. You get what you pay for people. Med grill is doing a great job :) Check this place out its worth it.
Great place. Had the 'Tuscan Table' 4 course meal and loved it, started with a bacon wrapped shrimp on a pinneapple salsa with a balsamic reduction, absolutely delicious. Then had the orzo pasta salad which was pretty good, and as the main had the fig and brie stuffed cicken. the filling was a little too sweet but overall really good, my favourite part was the garlic mashed potatoes and the gravy. For desert i got the sticky toffee apple pudding which was friggin good
We had a good meal here; my steak came tender, well cooked, mushrooms fried fresh (not out of a can), a really good beef & tomato side soup - my partner's smoked chicken pasta was a little short on chicken but he enjoyed it - the service was attentive but unobtrusive - a surprisingly classy place
Delicious. Honestly, my girlfriend and I go to a lot of restaurants in the CRD area and Med Grill is the most consistent dining experience we get. It is around the corner from our house and has never let us down. I have had everything on the menu, from the lamb shank to the pizza to the salads and nothing has ever been over cooked.
The wait staff is a little young, but is trained well so lapses in judgement have always been quickly corrected. I would definitely suggest Med Grill or Brentwood Bay as two of the best restaurants to take the family or just go for brunch. A cut above Earl's and step below 5 star.
Great deal at lunch. Just made it in for the 1st time to the Med Grill for lunch, and I was impressed. We all had the 3 course menu for only $18, awesome deal, and everything was really good, great presentation, steaks cooked just right, very good thinly sliced frites, and a nice light dessert of strawberry rhubarb mascarpone "trifle". We also had calamari as an app before and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely with lemon pepper. Good attentive, talkative, friendly service. I will make it back one day for sure.
It was really good !!!. Been there just recently, had the Tuscan 4 piece dinner.
Main course for me was lobster fettuccine...WOW.
I've NEVER had perfectly made pasta before, didn't know what I was missing.
All the servings were a hit, all seemed a little small but I was happily "full" upon completion.

Good food and service. I have dined at the Med Grill twice and have thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The Tuscan 4 course dinner is a really great choice and would recommend trying it. The service has been excellent even during peak times. I agree that the dining room is loud and wouldn't recommend taking someone who has trouble hearing during their busy times. I would also suggest making a reservation.
Can a salad be impressive?. YES. After orderinging a beet salad tonight , it was way more than I expected- just beautiful flavours with the dressing, and huge bacon wrapped scallops. There were also roasted cashews and I felt so healthy after I had to order a black forest cheesecake for dessert! It did not taste like black forest but was also very good. Despite it seeming very busy, the service was more than excellent too - we were well attended by three waitstaff all pitching in. If I ran this restaurant I would be very happy with my staff who seem friendly, personable and hard working.
My partner went for the 4 course menu and it was all great starting with a coconut prawn appy, mulligitawny soup...(best I ever sampled) I forget what entree he had but I also had a taste of the ginger cheesecake...(not as good as mine but still yummy) Definately coming back!
Good place to enjoy!. We are regulars at Med grill and we like it most times. Food is good. Service is nice and atmosphere is great. We take the "Menu Deal" which makes small good goodies. Also the Med bread is amazing!

Better than it used to be. Went with friends recently, slightly under duress since it was pretty mediocre the last time I went. This time though everyone got excellent food. Service was good too, despite the fact that they were pretty busy. It's back on my list :)
Lunch has always been good for me. I normally go for lunch. Used to have the Beef Tenderloin Salad but after a couple with fatty/gristly steak I've switched to the Roasted Beet and Scallop Salady, which has always been great, but a little heavy on the dressing.
Chicken Club Med Sandwich is good, as is the Thai Curry pasta ... and the 3-Dip Med Bread to share.

Our family loves the Med Grill. We have had consistently great food and service for both lunch and supper. Always one of our first choices for lunch with friends. Very good value.
Yummy...but don't go there to talk. Four visits to this popular spot and I've yet to be disappointed in the food. Prix fixe meal was fantastic - the duck was perfect, and on the whole a decent price. Tried lunch and was prepared to be bored with the Lamb Burger...but was wrong. Beautiful lamb, delicate sauce, and the bun was just the way want it.
the only drawback to this local fav is the volume. The restaurant is acoustically challenged. You have to communicate at a loud speaking voice or a quiet yell to be heard...and if there is a large party there of 10 or more at the big table, you will mostly enjoy their conversation, not your own.
Expect to pay 15+ for lunch, and 25+ for a very yummy dinner.

Pleasantly Surprised. We went here for a friend's birthday last night and i must say, I was pleasantly surprised!
Food: I ordered the pear/pesto/garlic pizza and it was delicious though needed some seasoning. The "tuscan menu" was a 4 course option for $19.99. My husband ordered this. i) Antipasto, which i thought was far too small. ii) soup or salad. iii) Entree. The salmon on squash risotto was divine. iv) crumble or choc-orange torte, both delicious.
Ambiance: The lighting was lovely, tables set nicely and the mood felt just right for the type of restaurant.
Service: The lady taking our orders was efficient and friendly. I didn't appreciate, however, the female serving the food on our table. It was rushed and she kept leaning over people. She also took peoples plates very early whilst other guests were still eating?
Value: The "Tuscan Menu" was great value. $19.99 for four courses meant you could try a few different things off the menu. We were all happy. There was also a range of options across a big price difference.
All in all, they catered well for a group, food was good, options were plentiful and ambiance was good. Shame about the server though.
Food Was Very Good, Service, So,So.... Went here for a late lunch the other day and had the Red Snapper Special, it was beautifully done, soft, tender and tasty. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the small pear and pecan salad which accompanied the meal was excellent. Presentation of the meal was very nice and the prices were reasonable.
Service was a bit slow, but considering there was only one server she probably did her best.
I thought the food and service were both great and the menu had options for all price points. A great lunch spot the chiken club Med is a can't miss
Alright. Yea i thought it was pretty good. wasn't as bad as you guys are saying it is.
Good variety of interesting entrees and appetizers. Daily specials, as well as steak, pasta, seafood, salads, pizza, vegetarian. Very artistic presentation of the food. The daily specials are always a good choice. The Sangrias are the best in town!

In general I have enjoyed the food at the Med Grill, but this time things were not so good.
another long overdue entry so correct me if i made any mistakes. after our long day trip at victoria, we decided to head back to the ferry. we have already planned to dine somewhere close to the ferry station. however, we could not find the place. christina and i were sleeping so we only got up when the guys decided to eat at the closest restaurant instead - med grill royal oak med grill royal oak 4512 West Saanich Road Victoria, BC V8Z 3G3 (250) 727-3444 View Larger Map the exterior of the place looked fine. there were plenty of parking spaces. we were surprised to see that majority of the restaurant was filled with senior citizens. the restaurant was really spacious and big though ! there are lots of tables to cater to many customers. the picture above is just 1/8th of the tables available. the server was genuinely friendly. she cared to explain any dish we needed clarifications
The waitstaff are accommodating. Service was timely. We ordered the smoked chicken Garganelli and the bacon cheddar burger with a side of there house salad and fries. I am impressed with the taste and complexity of there fries. I was however not overly impressed by the burger. The pasta was a solid choice. Atmosphere was nice.
Lovely anniversary dinner here. We enjoyed the salmon and salad with grilled chicken. Wonderful service as well. Will come back to try dinner on the beautiful patio! ✨
I went to this restaurant a few times before and I was happy. But we wanted to go there in a group of 10 friends for a long time but we couldn’t get the reservation. Finally we made it last Friday and we enjoyed our time there by good food and service. Totally recommended.
An absolutely delight. From the greeting, to table seating, service and overall ambiance. The food service was quick, food was brought to our table, it was hot, well plated and super tasty. Our server - Taylor was not only incredibly personal but actually remembered us form a while back when we there previously. They have a gorgeous outdoor dining area as well.
The Med Grill is certainly a restaurant to go to for a wonderful dining experience.
Always enjoy ourselves here, this is a placeholder family frequents. The service is usually ok, it’s always a full house here so staff seem to be “in the weeds” but the food is always on point. Any dish is going to be wonderful. I love sitting on the patio but I’d suggest some wasp traps because you can guarantee you’ll be visited by many once your food arrives. They have A LOT on their menu but seem to do a great job at executing each dish. Sometimes finding parking is a bit hectic because the lot is fairly small.
All are very yummy and great service! Recommend to come.

My favourite place to eat in Victoria. The Christmas decorations and the atmosphere is amazing. Always great service and food. My go to is the Caesar salad with blackened salmon. Incredible 🤤. Great with friends for a nice brunch or lunch but also a perfect choice for date night.

Scored the last non-reserved table for two (Probably should start making reservations from now on),at 6pm last Friday night. Nice to see the place was packed, but also looked fully staffed. Definitely reserve a table if you're determined to eat here, it really helps.
They have this large patio in the shade so it's quite nice (in my opinion) not to be too blinded by the sun and avoid being overly too hot. I didn't sit there, but it's nice to remind that it's there!
Ordered the Kalamari for appetizers, my husband got the chicken sandwich with fries, and I got (super exciting for me)- a pizza combo with soup of the day.
Soup was good for me, I liked the corn and coconut flavours. The pizza was good- not too much cheese (so I didn't feel like I was heavily clogging the arteries), and a good amount of toppings that you'll have a bite of meat with every bite.
The appetizer was alright, although it was a little under for our taste (maybe it was meant to be served that way?), and a little bland for us (probably safer to be under salted than overly salted?).
My husband was alright with his meal. Though he found it filling, it just didn't blow him away. I have managed to visit many more times before this, and it had consistently good taste for me.
Thus, 4 stars- my husband wanted to give 3.5, but I rounded up; ambience is pleasant for me, the service was prompt, servers were lovely, and everyone that came into the restaurant were greeted in a timely fashion.
Of course, it is a nice place to take your date as well.
The exterior and location are a little deceiving as it gave off a different vibe (the sign reminded me of Mexican cuisine) 😂 but the inside was a great space to enjoy a family friendly meal. Service was very accomodating and the food was as well. Appetizers were great to share and the set meal options were good and had extremely reasonable pricing. We all left happy and full.
First off, Lyndsey our server was great.. it's a refreshing experience these days to have service from someone attentive, professional and friendly. It was a date night with my husband, first time here and we really enjoyed the set 3 course meal. Coffee and wine is good too. I was happy to swap one of the set desserts for a tiramisu for a few extra $, delicious. Will be back..thank you.
Got lucky enough to get a table without making a reservation. Enjoyed all the food we received. We got the roasted Salmon Cobb salad and a half size of the prosciutto mission fig flatbread, half size pear Pecan salad & espresso cheesecake (｡♡‿♡｡) all very delicious. Sat outside on their patio and the prices were reasonable.
First time at Med Grill, and it was amazing. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. A must to if you're looking for a place to eat in town.
One of our favourites especially away from the downtown hustle bustle! Love the food and the atmosphere. Staff was accommodating when we dropped in for late lunch without a reservation.
Fantastic place to go. With their recent 25-year anniversary, you can well understand their succes by their exceptional food, service and inviting atmosphere. Lots of hard surfaces so it can be a challenge to hear, but well worth the effort.
To add, I came back because it was that good. And, these are these are the best quesadillas I've ever had outside Latin America!!!

The outside of this place can seem a little deceiving but the inside is beautiful, very classy! Arrived before 5:00pm and was able to get seated without a reservation but within half an hour the restaurant was nearly full!
The menu is definitely upscale they also have a set three course menu which I had and I thought was fantastic! I had the Dungeness crab avocado toast, Ling cod with risotto and a Bailey's chocolate ganache to finish. The food was very memorable and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and be a repeat customer.
Fun date night at Med Grill! Huge portions of delicious food. Cedar planked salmon was perfect! Reasonably priced wine & cocktails. The appies are huge! Had calamari & burrata salad- both wonderful!
