Review Boulangerie Artisanale Au Pain Gamin - Riviere du Loup

Discovering Destinations
Third time is a charm. We found ourselves coming to Rivière du Loup in 2018,2019 and now 2020. Both times the bakery was closed (they are closed Sundays and Mondays). Now we’re back, this time on a Tuesday and hurray, it’s open \0/ Delicious ham and Swiss, croissants and bread varieties!

We took sandwiches, it was good but nothing extraordinary and a little overpriced, 16$ for a croissant garni and a ham and cheese sandwich.

Such a cozy local bakery, freshly baked bread everyday, wonderful jam with breakfast. One of great breakfast stop on your way to PEI.

Wow! The pastries and food were wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the coffee was as well. Staff were extremely helpful to us despite our limited French.

The good: the only good thing was that the bread was lovely. The bad: they had no milk left to make latte at 1pm on a Monday. They had no orange juice. The "poached egg" was microwaved. The "fresh fruit parfait" had no fresh fruit: this one we complained about and were told the fresh fruit was in the granola. We kept eating thinking it was maybe small chunks at the bottom. No, they meant the raisins. All in all, not great and not recommended.

A number of croissant choices, and a few cakes/bars. Many breads available. Line moves quickly, there were still lots of options at 9:30a on a Saturday.

We were here last year and on our first day when we discovered the bakery we had the most delicious almond croissant along with a fantastic coffee. On the second day after munching on our croissants the wonderful proprietor of the bakery sweetly announced that they made bouillabaisse soup for the first time. Now I truly was in heaven and it was as close to authentic as I have tasted in a long time. Well we are back and this year and I hope the soup and croissants are still available. Yoo hoo...

I liked my nice experience at your bakery because i considered this place cozy, clean and comfortable, this place sells lots of products at very affordable prices, the quality is very good and your employees is correct and welcoming. I will recommend this for good bread and pastries.
