Review Steam Fresh House - Richmond

Quiet restuarant on Alexandra Road. Parking, of course, is hard to find. The place was clean and quiet. The staff was really nice. The food was a bit expensive, though I guess it is because all the seafood are fresh. This is a good place to go if you like seafood and is health conscious. Because the seafood waa steamed, it was quite bland and the only sauce they really give you is soy sauce. I prefer more flavourful dishes. So while this was a good experience, I personally dont think I'd come back.

The crabs are frozen, not as fresh and there were not pre-preparation for the Veggies. The skins were hard to chew. Maybe they just opened so the service was not the best. They mixed up the raw tong and cooked tong that made us nervous to eat....

We went for Mother's day and wanted to steam our food. The server recommended this combo so we didnt get to steam our own food because this combo is made for us. The food came and it was too spicy and the server said she told us it was spicy. Seeing that we couldnt eat the food because it was to spicy, the chef took the dish back and made us some garlice sauce Although, the food was too spicy for me and mom I think spicy fans would love it. I personally loved the garlic sauce the chef made specifically for us. When the bill came the server apologized and gave us 10% off of the bill. Although, the service at the beginning ended up in miscommunication, the server and the owner really took time and effort to make us feel comfortable. They even offered me a discount if I come back! I will go back because I want to try steaming my seafood!

great service. We ordered the steamed combo for 4 and the portion was just right. Four courses of seafood followed by tofu and veggies, ending with delicious congee. Would definitely recommend!

Expensive price tag for something you can cook at home yourself. Yes, the seafood here are fresh, but you can easily get fresh seafood at a local supermarket for 1/4 the price. As the restaurant name suggests, they steam all their dishes. Like literally, they put water in a fancy pot and then steam the food, that’s it. I ordered a whole Dungeness crab which cost $98, and a plate of steam clams for almost $20. Oh and the crab comes with “congee”, and I chose the shrimp congee. Guess what, the congee is actually a small bowl of uncooked rice and it came with a very small piece of shrimp (how do I even share this with others?) waiting to be steamed with the seafood I ordered. Did I mention the service? The service was so bad I felt like I was eating at a food court. For such a hefty price, I am expecting good, respecting service, but no, the waiter was so unprofessional and rude the whole time. I walked out with a $130 bill and still hungry. Don’t come here, you will regret it.

Worst place ever, never come back again. The service was terrible The seafood was really “steam” which nothing special at all; no taste, not worth with the price. The price was super high, I would rather go to Captain Boil where lobster is fresh, tasty, and not pricy at all compare to this bomb-restaurant. Attention: never come to this place, you won’t have fun here.

the seafood combo was a few frozen shrimps and clams and cost over 40 dollars! Not worth it!

The food in this restaurant are very fresh and healthy. Like everything here. I will come back again
