Review Aaa Restaurant - Richmond

Rachel Windsor
A authentic Cantonese restaurant! Fast and friendly service! Good food! Cash Only! The set menu is really cheap! Most importantly, there is a great variety of choices, you can choose how much food you want! For me, for a quick lunch, I can just pick two items with rice noodle + fried chicken wings, for less than $10! You can add more items for different prices (but still very cheap)! Unfortunately, they do not serve pineapple curst bun with melt butter anymore! I am kinda disappointed for this!! The waitress told me, the google information is not accurate! And many customers do ask for the pineapple curst bun with melt butter so I would like to point it out here!!! P.S. 佢哋唔再賣菠蘿油!

At first, I was thinking this place was gonna have lots of variety of HK style stuff, from fried rice to noodles, until I noticed they sell snacks and cart noodles. I had seaweed, fish balls, sausage and ramen for mine. It turned out pretty good, lots of seaweed and not a bad amount of fish balls. Chicken wings were quite good as well but the seating is quite low. Overall, not bad.

Limited free parking in the front. Lots more in the center of the mall. Not many tables. Will be busy during normal lunch/dinner time. Many home-made ingredients. All food tasted good. Prices are reasonable. Add-on deals make it even less pricey. Soup noodle base includes chicken stock, which is not spicy at all. Cash only.

This is a very traditional HK cafe that opens every day from 9am to 10pm except Sunday and Monday. We came here for dinner last night. All the menus were written in traditional Chinese. Most of them are without English translation. It is a good idea to bring someone who can speak and read Chinese (I.e. Cantonese) to the restaurant. This HK cafe is special in congee, rice noodles, noodles in soup, dried noodles and soup. We ordered a bowl of rice noodles in soup with octopus balls and fish balls, a dish of dried noodles with dumplings, two cups of half coffee and half milk tea and a fresh pineapple bun. All of them tasted very traditional. The smell, presentation, flavours, and colours made the dishes the best. We also ordered half a free range chicken at $7.50 for takeout. If we ate it at the restaurant, it cost $12.50! We were satisfied with the meals and felt very full. We might come back to try other dishes next time. The only downside eating here is parking. We had to look for parking on the streets or parked far away and walked to the restaurant.

The rice noodle I had for my cart noodles were stuck together but the soup didn't have too much MSG in it, so that was good. Prices were cheap, $8 for four toppings, plus $1 for the 2 pieces of chicken wings. The Lo Bak Gao was too doughy for me but the chicken wings were crispy and lightly seasoned.

This restaurant is almost like the sister restaurant of Lido but the satay beef with instant noodles is even tastier! The pineapple buns are the same as Lido. Hot milk tea is just as good. It looks like a more modern Lido with nicer furnishings. Parking is difficult to find though.

We come here for quick Hong Kong cafe style breakfast combos and pineapple bun with butter. Very simple place that usually has a lineup. They do have an English menu now too...

It's aight. Kind of on the "pricey side" for what you get, granted, it's not horrendous. This place is big on "cart noodles and cart rice" but I opted for the chicken combo (pictured). Came in at about $15 just for that. Cart noodles and rice is expectedly cheaper (you have a selection of 2 to 4 items to add on your noodles/rice) and came with a good serving of carbs, but whatever items you get on top isn't that overly impressive quantity/quality wise. Having said, the service was quick and food comes fast, so if you just want to get on with your business, this establishment is a decent option over the "usual" fast food joints.

Sure I came at 8 o'clock on a Saturday, I was expecting decent service. Going in first thing I notice the menu is everywhere. Instead of being in a book or a shabby three ring binder it was scatter over 5 laminated cards, double-sided one of them was just to explain how natural and preservatives-free their tofu pudding and congee base is. Next thing I notice the staff, mainly the chefs walk in an out of the kitchen just to watch the customers. Sure you need a break once in a while but a certain chef came out at least 3 or 4 times over the hour I was eating there. Lastly, I hope the waitress was fairly new, most things she forgotten were sold out causing my table and the one in front of us some disappointment. If you were thinking if there was any good to this place, I'm sorry the food was also of poor quality and is a bit pricey for the portion you get. I have tried this place once and I don't think I would like to come back again.

Yummy. A must do place for wontons, congee and noodles! Breakfast time is super busy, so go early. Very good Hong Kong style drinks and food.

Zomato should change the cost of Triple A restaurant for two to $30 instead of $25. They are pricey, the portion are small. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My family went for supper at the relatively new AAA Restaurant on Alexandra Road. Nanzaro wanted to carbo-load before his long run training for Marathon. He is going for a 30km run the next day. It was almost 9PM and the place was not too busy. Paper table mat. It has similar take out dessert offer just like Lido when you spend CAD22 and above. The offer is only for dining in between 12pm to 2pm and from 6pm to 10pm.
Picky Diner
If you are a fan of congee or if you are curious about trying it, I definitely recommend AAA restaurant for a visit. The unique congee special offers you a combo of a congee bowl, a side dish and a dessert for a very reasonable price. And the pineapple bun here is the mother of all sugar buns out there in the city, a must-try in my book for sure.

AAA Restaurant 麗記餐廳 is located on Alexandra Road in Richmond. It is a typical Hong Kong Cafe with lots of choices; unfortunately, they don't have menu in English.

If you like Hong Kong style breakfast, milk tea and pineapple butter buns, this is the place to go.

Services: 4/5
Food: 4/5
Special Features: pineapple butter bun, coffee and milk tea 鴛鴦

This is the sister location to Lido which is just a few blocks down. Went on a Saturday morning just after 11 am and it was busy (but not as crazy as Lido). Its quite the small space so I suggest going early or else you will have to wait.

One of my fave places to go for Chinese style breakfast. Satay beef noodle soup is flavourful compared to other places. This is the best place to get a freshly baked pineapple bun with butter!

Parking can be a pain in the butt. There is a parking lot but it is shared with many other stores. Not open Sundays and Mondays which is a downer.

AAA Restaurant 麗記 recently opened in Richmond just a few doors down from Lido Restaurant 麗都餐廳. It took over the old space where Kam Ho 金豪麵家 used to be at 8053 Alexandra Road. Fans of Lido (me included) seem to be either happy for an alternative or made at the copy cat. It is no doubt, the menu and decor suggests the two are quite similar. AAA replicas if you will. But you will probably understand once you understand that one of the chefs from Lido opened AAA. As for us, we are quite happy of the new roomier cafe with less line ups sans attitude.
Nuinui The Cat
Sister company of the famous Lido Restaurant in Richmond. Same good quality, less line-up. The milk tea, Satei Beef noodles and pineapple buns are my favorite.
