Review Thai Express Restaurant Richmond - Richmond

Very low efficiency - went there during lunch break. It was super slow, only one person in front of me when I lined up to order (noodle soup) and I waited 15min for my order, even the customers ordered after me got their orders. And it happened every time when I went there! Food was okay - not sure about the stir fries but the soup I ordered is very salty most of the time. I would 100% recommend Thai Express at other location, but just not this one.

It's your normal food court food. The female cashier though, had to say hello about 3 times because she was texting on her phone. Not a very nice image. Also don't know why she washed her hands with her gloves on instead of changing them. I rather they not wear gloves and wash their hands instead.

Thai Express is a food court stall. They do quick and dirty thai but made to order. Depending on the staff it can be correctly seasoned and sauced or fairly bland. In general it is below what you would get at a thai restaurant. It is filling though and the freshness of the ingredients makes it competitive against some of the others. Parking is available from the mall, with the rooftop being the closest. The Canada line is the closest transit hub, but several bus stops are nearby as well.

Each time I come here for spicy pad Thai, it is not spicy in the slightest- it is SWEET. Please actually give people what spice level they order. My noodles were as underwhelming as the service I received this evening

Thai Express usually has good food but this one in Richmond Centre is an exception. I ordered a Thai fried rice with tofu which tastes horrible. The rice is hard and there is only ONE piece of tofu!!! The service was also terrible. The cashier was rude and sneaky. She charged me $10.48 for Thai Fried Rice. It says $8.68 on the menu so plus tax it should be 9.48. I paid without thinking carefully. Then I thought the amount was not right so I asked for the receipt. She gave 2 receipts which were not even my order and said "can you even read?" It was insulting! I mean $1 isn't a lot of money but it's about integrity. They are not only rude but very unethical. Not sure why they can survive in the busy Richmond Centre. The mall should shut down this Thai Express! All staff there should be fired!

Tasteless cheap quality and expensive! I’ve never had such tasteless food. I tried the soup and there was literally no flavour! And it was supposed to be their medium spicy. I ordered their wings as well and by the time they served them my soup was cold. The wings were greasy and tasteless!

I was attracted by an advertisement of Thai Express' new vegan menu that was cycling among other advertisements on the computer screen between the cashier and myself. The vegan menu, however, was not included on the larger static screens that customers order from. Me: Do you have a copy of this vegan menu I can look at? It only shows up for a few seconds at a time on this screen. Her: No. Me: Oh. Well I'll just look at it as it cycles through then. Two or three minutes pass as I try to read the menu between all the other advertisements. Me: I'll have the Vegan Cashew Pad See Ew please. Two or three minutes pass as I try to explain to her what Vegan Cashew Pad See Ew is. Me: Can't you look at this screen here? It's this one that comes up every so often. Her: No. Is it this one? She points at some kind of fried rice on the main menu. The people that I came with have already received their food and are waiting for me. Me: No, it's Pad See Ew. Like that one. I point at the menu where Combo 8 seems to include Pad See Ew. Her: Okay, what kind of meat do you want? Me: It's Cashew Vegan Pad See Ew. No meat. So she takes my money, and after some time I get this plate of food that looks nothing like the picture. I take it to my seat and as I start eating it I realize there are no cashews, hardly any vegetables, and it is beginning to look like I paid ten dollars for a plate of badly seasoned noodles. I took the plate back to her and told her what was wrong, and she seemed very confused. I verified with her that she had absolutely no knowledge of the vegan menu that they were advertising and when I suggested that she should at least have a copy of the menu to refer to, she did not seem receptive. I went to Subway and had them make me a quick sandwich as everybody else had finished eating and were ready to leave. This is a shame because there is a real difficulty in finding reliably decent vegan food in places like this. It's also aggravating because it very much seemed like the employee was totally comfortable with her level of ineptitude.

Snotty cashier and got my order wrong too! Then she changed my take out to eat in. Then the "CHEF" put it on a plate to which i said its to take out...he threw a take out box onto the tray. Do not go here unless youbwanted to be disrespected by lousy staff.

Everytime we saw Thai Express, me and my wife are eyeing for this chicken pad thai, so delicious and looks appetizing. That is why once we are at the food court either in Metrotown or Richmond, we ordered it.

Ordered the chicken pad thai. Like the flavours and portion is great but they don't give much protein and load up on the noodles and bean sprouts. Also asked for little spicy but the cook was a little heavy on the hot sauce.

Typical. How come these places always load up the plate with tons of rice, cheap vegetables and barely any meat. This is the 3rd Thai Express I have been to and this one in Richmond is the worst.

Very poorly prepared with very less chicken and vegetables..... The staff is very grumpy and rude.

Ever since Thai Express landed in Richmond Centre a few years back, my faith in food courts had been restored. It is seriously a great little stall with fresh, made-to-order generic Thai dishes. The flavours are usually pretty good, though! The Shrimp Spring Roll was like one of those from Vietnam, with vermicelli, lettuce, carrot, bean sprouts, and shrimp inside, wrapped in rice paper. The peanut dipping sauce was sweet and lovely. The Tofu Pad Thai had great flavour. No, it’s not real tamarind and instead, was more of a ketchup-based sauce. Still, it was good, and I did not really expect authentic. The portion was decent. I could have used more vegetables and the tofu did not really stay crispy but rather had soggy batter. The noodles were not overcooked though and it was still pretty good! Now that Richmond Centre has built the Dining Terrace food court, the dining environment is so much more elegant, with

As with many places, however, times change and so does the food.

There are just so many things right about Thai Express… First off, Thai food = yummy! Second, it's all cooked right in front of you. I'm surprised at how quickly they can stir-fry the dishes but I've seen the huge blast furnace that they use (it's like they're cooking off a jet engine's afterburner). Third, if you order it to-go, it comes in those neat little chinese take-out containers that you always see on tv. There are a lot of great dishes but lately I've been going back for the General Curry. They take pieces of crispy deep-fried chicken (yea!) and stir-fry it with your choice of curry sauce. I've had the green curry many times but I tried red curry this time (it comes with onions, bamboo shoots, red and green peppers and Thai basil). Spicy, juicy, crispy… what more could you ask for? Nanzaro wanted to have lunch at the newly opened Richmond Center Dining Terrace. The reason was he wanted to get a shirt on sale from Aeropostle in Richmond Center. The new dining terrace has a large sitting capacity. This is just part of the dining area. It was busy on a weekend noon. Parking in Richmond Center in weekends has always been a challenge. Nanzaro had the above from Bourbon Grill. The Bourbon chicken was actually pretty good; sweetish with some charring. It was $8.84 including tax. I had a Shrimp Tom Yum Noodle Soup from Thai Express. It was not spicy despite I dumped a load of Sriracha into it. The soup actually tasted sweetish and just lightly sour. No kick at all. Credit card is accepted at Thai Express. Arkensen ended up having sushi at Umi Sushi Express. Nothing pleases his palate. Arkensen has sushi every Thursday when he has classes from 10am to 7pm. He never get tired of sushi. While waiting for Nanzaro to run down the mall to get his shirt, Arkensen and I decided
