Review Bubble World - Richmond

Lekha Reddy
Visited for a quick bbt fix and got a peach milk tea - it was really good. Though i wasn’t asked for ice/sugar levels, it tasted good for my liking. Also got a Oreo bubble waffle and salty chicken nuggets- both were really good. Reasonably priced menu with other food items on menu and definitely going back. Went for a take out but decided to dine in and the service was good. It was close to their closing time but they didn’t rush us.

Staff are really nice, friendly and fast. Came here a several times and they all really busy but their staff still keep their smiles on their face. Price is average, kinda good deal for dinner but not really interested with their bubble tea!!

My girlfriend brought me here. I thoight it was going to be a standard bubble tea place but it was also a full service restaurant. Dine in or take out is in place. Food is Chinese with full meals and snacks and a pretty impressive BBT menu with all the fixings you would want. They do ice and sugar levels which is always nice. We had chicken nuggets, Chinese pancake with beef roll, and taro bubble tea. All were excellent. Service was good the location was clean. Oddly they were playing 90's to 2000s songs, like the cranberries which ibalso enjoyed. $$

The bubbles are still great, just the ice cream part of the ice cream slush seems to be lacking in taste compared to their old version. Not sure what, but it was a bit off compared to their usual high standards.

Love it here! The food is pretty good, but not as good as before. Their bubble tea is really good honestly, and they have a pretty HUGE menu. This place doesn’t really need reservations.

I never write reviews even if the food is horrible but this is not even edible. So burnt to the point is so bitter! So salty and dry!!!! I’m extremely upset! How can this place let the food be made like this???? This is ridiculous.

Foods are delicious! Their hot pot was flavorful. Fast and good service too... my only gripe was that the place were too small and crowded.

Food taste very good and hot when its served. Service very friendly. My favorite is the Five Spice Beef in Chinese Pancake. Pancake very crispy.

Good food. Decent price. One of my favorite Taiwanese restaurants. The minced pork rice was not too greasy. But I do prefer the Hong Kong style black pepper sauce over Taiwaneses.

worst service ever. no one came to help us out and we waved them down to take our order, saw us but then pretend to not see us. so we walked out. worst experience ever

They recently relocated a few stores over but in the same plaza. It is a much smaller space that replaced the old Pho Queen. Its been awhile since my last visit and things have changed. Menu has shrunk and they don't offer as much variety anymore. Prices have increased (which these days is normal) but portions have shrunk and quality has gone down. The soy tripe appetizer was quite salty. Deep fried tofu were cut mini size. Smallest i've seen around. My partner had the taiwanese sausage fried rice and it came on a plate in the amount of a personal sized rice bowl. It was so greasy that it had a shine to it. I had the brisket, tendon and eggplant hot pot and when it arrived to our table you can tell visually how it was going to taste...BLAND. They were very frugal with the quantity as it only came with 2 pcs of brisket, 2-3 pcs of tendon and eggplant. As I ordered the combo (side dishes and rice) for an extra $2.50, it came with less than a teaspoon of corn with a mix of what looked like spam and some celery. For $11 I can get a better meal elsewhere.
Can find better taiwanese food joints elsewhere.
○good service
○family friendly
○great selections of food/ same menu lunch and dinner/ I enjoyed their hotpot/ tofu dessert cold with no sugar and with pearls/ their personal hotpot and various rice dishes are Good too
○I do find they put alot of sugar syrup so ask for no sugar or less sugar
○price/ quantity was similar to other bubble tea joints
○if I had to choose 1 dish: chicken teriyaki
○would I go back? Yes
Unbelievable proportions, unbelievable since they charge a whoooping 9$ for their Hawaiian fried rice and it fails to cover 1/4th of their plate. Additionally their service is pretty slow when restaraunt isnt even half filled. My friend asked for vinegar twice and they fail to give it to her. Their drinks are pretty good, but the size is still quite questionable for the price. 10/10 would not order again.

HORRIBLE service. Have been going to this location for Bubble Tea for years. We order 3 Slush Bubble teas. They gave us Milk Bubble Tea. My daughter felt pressure to pay even though the order was wrong. I went back and I tell them they gave us the wrong order and they wanted us to pay again to get the Slush bubble teas. Asked to speak to the manager and advises manager is not in. What these business owners have to teach their servers... the cost of having to making another 3 bubble teas vs. not having a repeat customer come back.

Haven't been here in a long time. Dropped by after some pool with the guys and girls. Better than the last time I been here, not as busy as the usual self. Maybe that's why the service got better? Honey Green tea with Aloe Vera.

The prices aren't too bad, and the food is okay. I like to come here for a good and inexpensive snack or beverage. I would say the food is kind of a mixed Asian style, but mostly Taiwanese? As a vegetarian, there's not a lot to order here, but they are willing to accommodate.

This place totally reminds me of bubblemania in yyc.. their prices are pretty decent (for the most part when it comes to food) and they also have some unique drink flavours! i got the white chocolate tea thing and it wasn't bad but i wouldnt say it was worth $4.45... their chinese pancakes are really yum tho i defs wanna come back and eat that again and try the other food as well.. SERVICE COULD DEFINITELY BE IMPROVED THO.. THEY DIDNT EVEN GIVE US SEPARATE PLATES TO SHARE DA FOOD

Quite a hit or miss. We got to sit down right away but the service was slow. The drinks took some time to come although the bubble tea did taste good. My partner ordered a hotpot that came with no flame started on the bottom and took a long time for a waitress to come over to put in the lighter.

Worst take out experience ever. I ordered a Deep Fried Fish Fillet w/ Rice with a Milky Wheat Tea to go on May 25, 2015. When I got home, opened up the container, there was nothing, but rice and a side dish. The fish fillet was NO WHERE to be found....

I also tried to contact the restaurant. The phone doesn't work and their email doesn't work.

It's great. Fantastic bubble tea one weird tall girl tho

Comfortable. First step into bubble world and I already feel comfortable and welcomed. They play really nice t-pop songs that goes really well with the decorations. Some of the servers are clumsy, but most of them are willing to help and patient. Food portion is decent, and it tastes pretty good. Drinks are about the only thing I have problems with. Their bubble teas are so cold that the pearls freeze within 20minutes, and that really destroys the taste. Will definitely come back here again.

Food - 8.5/10
Service - 7/10

Nice good and cheap place to eat. This is my first time to Bubble World (didn't know it was a franchise). Went here with a friend and he used to visit after drinking at the Karaoke places. The food is very cheap in price. The decor and service is excellent. I feel really comfortable when I am in here. I had a mango slush bubble tea. It was really good, however a bit pricy. I;d come here for the food and pass up on the drinks.

Worst drink!. I ordered two take out bubble tea, the powder was still at the bottom. They didn't shake it well.

Enjoyed the food and service. Great choices to pick from on the menu, service is great here. Repeat customer and never been disappointed.

Their customer service can be better.i have been to the store sooo many times and ordered to go soo many times there. Just to give an example on how their customer service sometimes can be frustrating for the customer: I called ordering to go and asked if they have watermelon juice since they have it on the menu but seasonal. The server on the phone said no so I asked what do they have. She replied asking me what I want. I guess it wasnt obviouse enough that I wanted watermelon juice so she repeat asking me what I want after I ask her what is in season again. Then after a power struggle She said they have strawberry, banana and avocado. I am kind of confuse what she means avocado or banana juice. I commented on that then she told me its banana and avocado milk...I mean its just energy draining trying to figure out what they are saying and get the food you want...sign

Either hit or miss. When my boyfriend and I ate here for the first time, we were seated very quickly, and the service was great throughout our time there. We ordered the deep fried Taiwanese pork chop with rice, marinated chicken wings, and milky taro Oreo slush. The first sip of our bubble tea was heaven! It was delicious and very tasty. The pork chop was disappointing as it looked dry and old. The chicken wings were even worse. They smelled weird and weren't fresh.

The second time my friends and I ate here, I ordered the salty peppery chicken nuggets and milky mocha Oreo slush. This time, I loved the chicken, but I wasn't so happy with the bbt. It was tasty, but I guess I wasn't into the mocha too much. Good second experience, I'd say.

For the third time, I had the takoyaki and milky strawberry tea. They were both good, but the bbt wasn't the kind of strawberry I wanted; it was a bit sour.

Overall, I really like this restaurant. The service is always great. The food is either a hit or miss; it's either good or so-so, but I'd always be willing to come back here.

No worth the money. All 3 drinks (water melon n pearls, coconut milk n red beans, sweet tofu n pearls) were sub-par. I'm surprised how they stay in business.

That's carzy! I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup for to go, and got home with just noodles and broths. I called to store and they said they charge me with the one No Meat! I DID NOT say no meat, why??? And I paid over $12 for 1 noodles with No meat and 1 bbt. WTF!!! Wont never come back again, and will tell my friends as well.

Bubble "too" world. This place's food/drinks were either too sweet or too salty.
all of the ingredients were of very low quality.
the staff however were suprisingly friendly.

but that doesn't make up for the lack of flavour.
PUFF'N SPY
Pleasantly Surprised. Came to check out this new location on a Saturday night... arrived at around 10:30pm and was seated in less than 10 minutes. The waiting area is quite small but there weren't many people waiting. The decor is contemporary and quite pleasing.

We had a group of 6 and was asked politely if we minded moving to another table to make room for a group of 8. We obliged and was served promptly.

Everything our group ordered was quite tastey and of good value (for now, since it's still "new"). I had the "typical" Taiwanese minsed meat on noodle with whole preserved egg. It came with some sprouts as garnish... It was just $4.50 and the portion is decent, and presentation was exceptional for the price. My fiance and I shared a milky tea ice-cream slush. Tasted like those instant 3-in-1 powder milk-teas but the ice-cream added a pleasant twist; we both enjoyed it!

The rest of the group ordered beef tripe (which came as a hot dish and was surprisingly good) and a beef wrap as a snack. These were from the "appetizer" menu.

Overall, we were all impressed with the speed of service and the friendliness and pleasant customer service offered by the staff. They had 2-3 BBT "artists" and 4-5 waitresses working out front. They were not "cheap" with their napkins or disposable chopsticks and were happy to give us extras. They did not seem to have a particular waitress assigned to a section. Also, we were all surprised to find that every one of the waitresses could speak and understand English fluently!

One weird thing was that someone at the table beside us had terrible BO and the waitresses walked around spraying Febreeze, which made things smell much better...

Hopefully, this level of customer service and value stands up in the future! Definately worth checking out!

Large Portions ... for now. Great place, food is cheap and the portions are big. However, drinks are not included and the drinks here are more expensive than other locations. Other locations drinks are about 3.75. Here they're at 4.25 and up. But for the price it is bigger than Tapioca Express.

At Bubble World Richmond, you can get a gigantic cup of sweet fruity tea with creamy foam (a.k.a. bubbles), and those little black gummy balls (a.k.a. pearls). But do you know that most of the Taiwanese style bubble tea houses are also great restaurants? I love those tea houses where you can get fairly decent Taiwanese dishes. The food is simple but delicious. One of my favorite Taiwanese tea houses is Bubble Word in Richmond. Beef Noodle Soup @ Bubble World Richmond Beef noodle soup is one of the popular items on the menu of a Taiwanese restaurant. In fact, quite a few Taiwanese restaurants have named themselves Beef Noodle House in Vancouver. Who can imagine beef shank, which tends to be tough and dry, would become so tender and and flavorful after hours of slowing cooking.

... excellent ratio of the sweet butter topping to toast; sweet butter was actually slightly savory too, w a bit of crunch to the topping; bread insanely soft as expected; definitely this Bubble World's signature as advised by our server...

A well-known franchise to all bubble tea lovers, Bubble World seems to be doing very well. Every time I visit a Bubble World, it’s packed. I am not overly fond of bubble tea joints, though they are very clean and offer fast service, I don’t like the ambiance. Bubble tea joints are usually too noisy to carry out a decent conversation with your companions. But I still come back to Bubble World every so often, mainly because I like their drinks, specifically the Milky Malt Tea (on the right, with a regular green tea on the left). Food-wise, it can certainly improve. The Assorted Stir Fry Pork Intestines with Pork Blood was decent, but not great. The amount of the main ingredients were astoundingly small. We spent most of the meal trying to find the rare meat, and failed to do so until the very end. The taste was ok, but again, the portion was vastly disappointing. The Beef Noodle in Soup is something I recommend readers stay away from. There are many alternatives out there, restaurants th

The food and drinks at Bubble World are not bad at all for their cheap prices and their service is average, just like you’d expect at any bubble tea place – so-so and borderline non-existent.

A group of us had just played the Murder Mystery Game that’s popping up in Richmond (the one we went to was Freeing Canada) and we wanted to grab a bite afterwards, so we headed to Bubble World. It was quite full and busy, but we managed to get a 8 person table right away. I had the Beef Noodle. It was decent size, but I find it to be drowning in the sauce. It wasn’t anything extraordinary – not something I would order or come back for. Sheepie ordered the Three Sauce Chicken $7.95. Good price for the portion, but the veggies were cold, the chicken was boney – not the kinds that we like. Sheepie kept complaining it was garbage. We both don’t really like oily, greasy meat dishes that are full of bones and fat. It’s just our preference. My Chinese friends love those pork knuckles…argh…no no for me. The interior was fine and had a decent seating capacity. Not much to say about service. Some of the other’s dishes, especially the hot pots looked quite impressive, though can’
Domo Is Craving...
Hello food lovers! So Bubble World has always been our GO TO place when we can't figure out where to go for food. The food is always good, drinks are always on point and the service never disappoints. To be honest, my last few visits has not been as great as before, but it never bugged me that much until yesterdays visit. So I joined Phil after I was off work and we ordered right when I got there, since it was nearly 8pm already. We sat approximately 15-20 mins...and usually our drinks would've been ready...We thought maybe it's busy so we waited for a bit longer...still nothing came. Our main waitress was busy, so we asked this other waitress who walked by to check up on our order. Apparently our waitress messed something up and didn't process our order over. The fact was not because she forgot, the fact our waitress did not come by and apologize to us was just unacceptable to me. We also tried to call her over a couple of times and she would pretend to not see us and just walk away.

Thirsty, I ordered a Milky Red Bean Slush ($4.45) to go. This came super fast, and I really enjoyed my drink. Perhaps it was because I had not drank any form of bubble tea or these sort of drinks in a looooooong time, but the slush was not too sweet, and had a strong red bean flavor in addition to the creamy milk. When the bill came, I was surprised to see it actually cost $2.75. I'm guessing probably because I ordered food, it was charged as a meal.
Constant Cravings
so on the menu they had squid lips and squid feet listed and we were all like what on earth are squid lips?!?!?! o____O??? So we asked the waitress who sorta laughed and said it was the part of the squid that wasn’t the legs?!
Constant Cravings
... milky oreo slush! It was super thick and sweet and there was a lot of crushed oreo in the slush. So much oreo that you actually have to chew it when large chunks come up in your straw. My friend ended up using the spoon to scoop it out and eat it haha
Myyummycravings
Overall, the hot pot was not that bad but I would not order it again. Especially when the rice were hard and seemed like it wasn't cooked fully yet.
Laur'style
-$6.45 including tax for a snack and a drink priced at $4.95. -awesome deal, like additional dollar for the snack
Two Hungry Piglets
A tad on the pricey side but we knew it would be epic. And it was. It's massive and packed with mocha flavor and crushed Oreos. Mr. Piglet and I both really like it but know that we're coming out of this meal with diabetes. It's super sweet so if you're looking for something with a little less than probably 400 g of sugar per serving that this monstrosity packs, then I would suggest picking a fruit tea...

Unfortunately, at places as busy as Bubble World, service is pretty much non-existent. I suppose this is understandable as I noticed the lineup gradually accumulate at the small entrance. The waitresses have tunnel vision and seem to not really communicate with each other. We had asked the waitress that took our order to hold some menus for the Chanks, but another waitress just came back and took them away, assuming that we were done with them without asking. I know I’m kinda being nitpicky, but still! Another thing to note: there is a minimum $3 charge per person.

To be frugal, order the noodle version instead of the rice. That way you don't need to order a drink to quench your thirst. If you order the rice version, you're going to be tempted to want to order a drink. Also, the rice version is more expensive and eating either will make you full anyways. I eat here very often and tried pretty much everything, in the end, I just figured this is the best for my wallet. The soup base is very watered down and the bak choy is just 2 cloves. I'd wish they be a bit more generous with the vegetables because the meal is very heavy with the fried chicken. There is definite value for
Every Day Is A Food Day
Bubble World is usually really packed during after dinner hours, especially on weekends. I went on a random weekday in the afternoon though, so it was basically my table and another table. Quite empty so service was really quick. They're similar to Pearl Castle, with a variety of food and drinks to choose from. I tried their Matcha Ice Cream Slush with Agar Jelly which was quite large in size to my surprise. The Matcha was not bad, but I wish it actually had ice cream in it. I didn't really get the ice cream texture, and it was more like all slush and ice instead. It was my first time trying agar jelly, which I heard was pretty good. I wanted a change from the normal pearls and coconut jelly. To my surprise, it didn't really have any flavour to it, but it had a very nice chewy texture - not as chewy as pearls
Eating With Kirby
I've eaten a casual dinner at Bubble World many times and it has never failed me. Granted, its not the best Taiwanese food out there, but the meals are pretty decent and the prices keep me coming back.

Bubble World is no longer just a place for bubble tea! It's a great place for some quick, yummy food. There usually isn't an issue with wait times or parking -- always a plus!
Krispybites
Sab and I decided to go for a small snack after class on Thursday night, and we were surprised to find that there was a 15-20 minute wait at Bubble World. After finally being seated, we ordered a couple of dishes to share. We started with a pan fried egg roll with pork floss (肉鬆蛋餅) ($4.45). It was surprisingly good with fluffy pork floss and a spongy layer of egg wrapped inside a thin and chewy pancake. The egg roll went very well with the thick soy sauce served on the side, but it tasted great by itself too. I'm not a big spicy eater, but I decided to try the wonton in chili sauce (紅油抄手) ($4.95) since I was craving something savoury. It was a bit more spicy than I had bargained for, but it sure hit the spot thanks to the rich and intense sauce. Unfortunately the wontons were a bit cold when they came, which might explain why they were stuck together. As usual, I ordered milk tea with pearls ($3.95). There were a lot of pearls in the drink and they had the perfect textu

Daisy and I really enjoyed the Pan Fried Egg Roll with Corn (玉米蛋餅). Thick egg, thin wrap, and a good amount of corn niblets...yummy!

We were hungry today so we got an appetizer to share. These are fried chicken knees!
