Review Umi Sushi Express - Richmond

Munchica
Great quality mall sushi. The sushi rice was perfectly bouncy with some vineger and sweetness. Fish was fresh. Rice to fish ratio was pretty good. Tasted like I ate at a sushi restaurant, surprised to find it in a food court. Reccomend the assorted nigiri.

Food court quality nothing taste great but pricy. Unfriendly staff and waited so long….It’s just convenient location when you are shopping at Richmond centre.

Ordered the chicken bento box. Very overpriced.. The chicken and tempera taste good but the rice was soggy and tasted bland cause there wasn't enough sauce and I found a piece of hair in it! Eww 🤮 Will likely never order from this place again.

Rude, bland and slimey ramen. Ugh. Supposed to come with corn, sprouts and broccoli. No broccoli or sprouts, one kernel corn! Maybe their other food is ok. Like the Cactys Club of Japanese food. Next time I’ll buy cup o noodles.

This is actually a hot meal Japanese eatery and a small Chinese/Taiwanese style bubble tea and dessert food court stalls. They have two stalls side by side each with their own checkout and staff. Both locations do not accept American express and they don't do CC transactions under 4$. Staff are friendly enough. Sushi is either made to order or premade to go packages. They also do a nice udon. The bubble tea place has good teas but they often put in too much ice and their pearls are too sweet. Parking is accessible from the mall (rooftop is closest), transit is from the bus hub and the Canada line stop.

About what you’d expect from food court fare. The plating is definitely lacking but tasted fine. I liked the pager system so I could roam a bit to find my companions and shop for drinks while food prep happened. Menu description is not particularly accurate but the pictures are wrt what’s included with your ramen.

Beef ramen large portion. Wish they had rice noodles though. Or any soup with rice noodles but they don’t. How we tasted good. Service good. Didn’t speak English well but got what I needed. Price fair. And a good amount of meat with it.

I really enjoyed my lunch. I gave a five taking into account it is mall fast food. The food was the best I have had in Richmond Center, fresh and fair price. I had a bubble tea at their set up next door, and it was great also. I usually won't eat in a food fair, Umi has changed my mind. Good to know they are there; I will be back!
