Review Point Zero Four Fusion - Richmond

Munchica
Very kind and attentive service for AYCE sushi. Quite an expansive menu with over 100 menu items to choose from for all you can eat. You literally get a bit of everything from hand rolls, most types of sashimi, udon, tempuras, short ribs, and even grilled beef tongue. I highly recommend the SWEET YAM STRIP. It's like a fried mochi with the best texture (a combo of Chinese long donut flavour and mochi texture) Impressed with the quality given that it's all you can eat. Much better than the average AYCE sushi joint but then again, not the finest made sushi either, but hey, it's all you can eat and still comparable to some sushi restaurants. They don't give fillers or rice bricks to fill you up here, it's the real deal. Around 40 bucks gets you the full comprehensive menu and soda pop was only $1.25 a can which is pretty good for restaurant drink prices. Would come back.

It was fast food serving time before they got busy. Server was kindly not as another review . Quality was good enough as all you can eat restaurants. As not much opportunity to have AYCE sushi in Vancouver so I hope they keep going to business well .

Based on other reviews, I went here with high hopes but unfortunately the sushi quality was subpar. Thankfully, other items on the menu were more around the quality and taste you’d expect. For the all you can eat lunch menu, the price is actually better than you can get most places. There is no sashimi included in the lunch menu which is completely fair given the price. Service is reasonable and the atmosphere is fine for a lunch or dinner out with friends/family. Maybe it was just an off experience for me, but if the sushi quality increased to even average, this restaurant would be more than worth experiencing.

Cheap eats. If you're starving and it's late, stop by here and fill up. It's AYCE so the quality of food is average; however, the variety is amazing and for $16.99 it's a steal. I went for their late night multiple times and cannot get enough of the salmon head. It's bomb.com. This place has kept me alive back in the day when I was a starving student and continues to be a great place to eat for good value. Service is typical AYCE style, nice and chill.

Went in there for the late night all you can eat deal. The price is not bad for Richmond all you can eat. The services is quite nice. However service speed were quite slow may be due to the amount of customers they have. Call ahead to book a table is highly recommend since there is a lot of people. Over all the food a pretty good, sushi are fresh and thick cut sashimi.

All you can eat. Three menus $27, $34 or $41. Good for the price!

Food quality is ok. Service is quick and friendly. Great place if you want to eat more.

The food was okayyyy at best. Salmon sushi pre made and rice was really not appetizing. Staff was nice and only saving grace..... Also my coke was delicious.

這餐館食材很不新鮮,貌似放了很久, 而且服務員態度極差, 時間夠馬上趕客走. 很後悔在這用餐, 絕對不值這價錢!!!!!!!

How is this place still open?!. Maybe it was because we used a Social Shopper deal for our visit, but we found the service to be absolutely HORRID. Unfriendly, unclean, inaccurate, rushed.

Service - or lack thereof. Staff aren't very friendly, don't speak much english, and they just toss things on your table without any care. First time I called was on a Tuesday to make a reservation and whoever picked up the phone said "No, we are at capacity for Social Shopper Deals today and just HUNG UP." Called a week later and went on a Tuesday and it was dead inside. Sure, maybe it was busy that week, but that doesn't excuse the rudeness over the phone. And I just called again to make a reservation for tonight (stupid me I bought multiple deals for this place) and whoever picked up the phone says "What?? Chinese? No? *HANG UP*" Like are you f'n kidding me?!

Cleanliness - our bowls that were set on our table were greasy and the pop that was included in our social shopper deal came out with lipstick on one of the cups and another felt like it was sitting in a pool of grease and filled up before being served.

Food - The skewers that were brought out were at room temperature. The Satay broth was greasy and not very flavourful. The items we had ordered weren't brought out correctly. We weren't given our form back to reorder and had to do it verbally, only to receive items we didn't order and half of the things we actually wanted.

How does a business run as this one does? How are they still open?! Aren't Social Shopper and Groupon deals supposed to promote the business by bringing those that wouldn't generally come in by offering a discount? Do they not care for return customers? I'm absolutely astonished that this place is still around considering the plethora of GREAT hot pot places in Richmond that they have to compete with. Why does anyone choose to go to this place altogether? Absolutely brutal.

Hot pot. I went last week for my first experience of hot pot and had a great time. The service was great, the manager gave us a few free unexpected promos so we ended up with more than we paid for. There was lots of variety and the food was fresh and delicious. I would go back for their mix of garlic/cilantro special house sauce.

I tried hot pot for my first time at Claypot and I swore off hot pot forever. My friend convinced me to give it another shot so we came here to try it out. It was delicious! It has definitely turned me around. The service was good, no complaints really. They filled our teas, suggested items for us to try and showed us how to make it. We got the satay broth, and I just added a bit of salt which made it yummy. The key was the garlicy dipping sauce which was SO GOOD I could just eat it alone. It really made the experience worth while. We got pretty much everything, even spam, which is not my jam lol. Some of the menu translations are pretty hilarious, but expected. The tea could be better and it was served in a glass which was hard to drink from when it's hot. I would definitely recommend the appetizer side dishes like the bean sprouts and the mushroom one. Other than that, I have to say it was a fun interactive experience and I'll definitely be open to having hot pot again!

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Never go again to this restaurant. Terrible services and Terrible Food,
Not all you can eat. IS ALL YOU CANNOT EAT.
We order some beef and lamb, they only gave the smelly fish ball and some tofu to us. They don't give the order paper to us to re-order.
NEVER NEVER GO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!!!!!
Waste my time and bad memories.

Terrible Customer Service. We were first tempted to visit Point Zero as it smelled really good when we walked by one day. This was a mistake. When we first walked in we had to wait 5-10 minutes for a server to seat us and in the meantime, there were other people waiting as well. The servers knew we were there, but kept walking past and avoiding eye contact. Should have gotten the hint there. We decided to go for the all you can eat ($17.95/person) and they gave us two pieces of paper onto which we could mark what we wanted to order for hot pot and BBQ. We ordered, but the service was so slow that we would finish what was there and have to sit and wait for more food. We were there for a total of an hour and half and didn't receive all of our food. The servers were obviously clueless and never seemed to know which table they were supposed to be delivering food to. We ended up giving up, but as I went to pay they told me it was $95. I asked why it was so much for three people and they then informed me that there was a separate charge associated with hot pot and BBQ all you can eat! I was pissed. We will NOT be returning, there are many better places to get hot pot in Richmond!!

Awesome resturant.. I seriously cannot understand some of the people who comment here. I went to this restaurant twice so far and each time I've gotten amazing service. The hot pot is actually one of the most authentic Chinese hot pots in town. Amazing meat slices, soup base, and Chinese cake thingys. Highly recommended.

NEVER AGAIN! As soon as we walked in, the place looked super dirty already. The customer service was good though, but if the food isn't good then there is really no point to go. Some of the stuff we ordered never came. The whole experience was nothing pleasant, the biggest problem was probably the place, super old and dirty. In Vancouver, majority of the hotpot places are super nice. It's time for renovation.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!. I was also tempted by the social shopper that I bought, so I tried calling and making a reservation today. When I called to request for a reservation, the woman told to hold for one second and handed the phone over to another man who simply told me "bubye." Then I called for a second and third time, attempting to get that reservation but this time, they just ended up laughing and hanging up the phone.
So now, I have officially decided to not even go and use my socialshopper discount since this mere first impression foreshadows for a much worse nightmare dinner as these other reviews have stated.

PLEASE DON'T BOTHER EVEN GOING HERE. IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Surprisingly enjoyable.. Recommendation by friends, we brought a $25 coupon from Living Socal. Then we read all these negative reviews and we almost forfeited the coupon.
Then we thought that we should give it a try, at the worst, if we don't like it, we just leave early and go to another restaurant. When we arrived on Sunday evening, it was half full. We ordered the simple basic foods , soup, vegetable, red meat and seafood, without any upgrade. The service at first was nothing special but acceptable. Then the owner came around and help us arranged the food and smiles. The food came very fast and our soup pot was refilled twice without asking. The quality of vegetables and red meats are same quality as other restaurants, the fresh prawn are the only thing not so fresh, but again acceptable. Overall, we enjoyed the hot pot experience and would recommend this restaurant.
PS, the soup base is not salty, if you want more seasoning, just add soy sauce or salt which provided at the table. May be that is the reason for the negative reviews.

Worst hot pot experience ever !!! First visit and will be last visit ... Unpleasant service couple with horrible foods. Veggies were stale and old, I wouldn't even feed those to my pets nevermind serving to customers. Soup base was filled with salt and msg. Please reconsider if you decide to try. Wouldn't go back even it's free ! NOT RECOMMENDED !!!!

The worst and dirtiest restaurant I've never been to!

Horrible service, horrible quality food, horrible buzzing noise from hotpot stove, horrible cleanliness, horrible experience

Ingredients are not fresh! The shrimps, pork slices, frog legs are all not fresh. Half of the stuff asked never came. We had to specifically point out what they didn't deliver. Tried the onion pancakes. They were super dry and tasted old. When we first came in the man was quite friendly and helpful in explaining things to us. However as our food comes, our waitress was quite rude and slow. After we waited patiently to get our waitress' attentions o get our bill, she never came back to check on us for payment. We ended up having to wave her down to pay her. We had cash ready for her, but she asked if we could pay by card because she has no access to the registry. It was just quite strange that she has no access to it during their business hour. While I was paying she keep on reminding me about tips, I suppose many people didn't leave tips because of their service but obviously they don't see the reason why. We left with a good amount of tips, but I would never return again.

SLOW!!! UNFRESH!! Meat never came. We went there for Groupon hot pot.
Took a looooong time for every single order!! After the first round, we waited more than half an hour. Nobody served us. We have to add soup ourselves, add tea ourselves and even grab napkins from the counter ourselves.
Lot of meat never came, no matter how many times we ordered.
Food was not fresh at all, taken from the freezer directly like ice! Will never ever go back again!!!

One of the gross-est hot pot place. 1. unfresh.
2. dirty.
3. unfriendly.

thanks to the groupon deal, i cut my loss in half, but I wouldnt even want to eat there if it was for free.

Not a Winner. I had a look at the photos posted on Urban spoon and the rating, the food looks disgusting! Its no wonder theyr'e selling deals at over 50% off.

Quest For A Great Lunch
Over priced, mediocre food.. The grilled items are inconsistent. A few came still uncooked in the centre, and a few completely charred. They also over seasoning so I taste pretty much nothing but the caraway and chilli pepper.

They hot pot items are okay, but I did get a few dried out musubi ito konnyaku (knotted yam cake threads), as well as a few pieces coagulated pig's blood that tasted funny.

The utensils have this aged and unclean look. The paint layer has cracked and peeled.

The price is pretty high for the mediocre food, but if you bring kids, it's going to be much worse. They charge $18 for a little 4 year old kid ($24 for an adult). They also nick and dime you for every little thing like soup, sauce, and garnish.

This was my first, and likely my last visit.

Bought a hotpot all u can eat coupon from theredpocket. So many limitations. Food is alright. Service super slow and inattentive

Decent. Came here for a late-night dinner and used the $25 for 2 people with drinks coupon off RedPocket.com. The restaurant was half full (or half empty, depending on your perspective) and we were seated pretty quickly. Ordering was simple enough, we had the green sheet (think there are 2 different order sheets depending on the time?) which had Chinese & English written on it.

The food came pretty quickly (I would recommend the Chinese Herbs soup base, the flavour is subtle but it's healthy), and the servers came from time to time to refill the pot of water or take away empty dishes. Overall, a satisfactory experience. I don't recommend the cod fish balls (白魚丸) because they're kinda nasty inside, and the bok choy may be sandy depending on your luck (we weren't lucky with half our basket).

Some food never came...slow service. We went here with three of our friends using that 2 for 1 coupon they had recently (a pretty good deal that incl. soup base as well). First thing we noticed was that there weren't that many hotpot item choices compared to other places we have been to. For sliced meats, we usually order the beef and lamb. The meat were pretty fresh and of decent quality. It was not the cheap beef but rather the fatty beef which we like. Service here though is slow. There were only 3 servers and it was a busy night. Some of the food that we ordered never came. A lot of our dinner time was spent waiting.

The BBQ is not good. I have been there twice, BBQ isn't good, the price is tooooooo high!!!

Ugh.... Disgusting food and weird pricing.
food was cold before we even had a chance to touch it!!!
I am sorry but this seems to be last time i would try a Chinese izakaya type of store in Canada....
i'd much rather go to China for those true izakaya type stores.

Ok. I saw the ad in the newspaper, and was lured in by the cheap lunch price. $7.99/ person for AYCE hot pot lunch ? Nothing should sound like such a good deal-- unless it's not. Which I found out AFTER I sat down =( We were SO SCAMMED. I really don't think tricking people into your store is a good idea. Usually keeps them from coming back.

When we stepped inside, I was pretty sure we had teleported to China. I remember seeing boards like these in China, but I couldn't find any extra post-its or else I would've written something. Everything else about the interior still screams China to me, especially combined with the really classical Chinese music (they even looped the Chinese version of "Happy Birthday" at least five times). Click to enlarge Sour plum juice The $25 voucher I bought includes AYCE hot pot for two, as well as soup base and two drinks. They typically offer hot pot at around $18, but that doesn't include soup base which is another $7 or so. Point Zero also has a AYCE skewer and hot pot

Finally, we’ve finally got time to head over to Point Zero to try their hot pot. This time, we have another 2 people joining us for dinner. I find the parking lot here way too small and not sufficient for all the restaurants located in this plaza. I always have a hard time finding a spot here, so I’ve learned to either come early or really late for dinner. Point Zero Four Fusion 8500 Alexandra Road, Richmond BC Tel#: (604) 278-1213 The place was pretty empty when we arrived. We were led to 1 of the booths, and we found the table to be quite sticky. That was rather odd, and definitely diminished our appreciation for the place greatly. There was also a smell to the place, very cumin indeed, and sure enough the was a few spices on the side available for use to add flavor on some bbq skewers which were on the menu. We ordered a combination of soup for which one was a simple chinese herb style and the other one was satay. Not overly flavorful but it was average. And same with the f

Despite the name Point Zero Four Fusion, there is no fusion cuisine here. The place is actually a Beijing style hot pot restaurant, but they have recently started to offer lunch from 11 am to 3 pm every day. Although the food was not bad, there were a number of things that would prevent me from coming back: 1) dirty and cheap cutlery: The bowls and spoons were made of plastic and they were completely stained. One of the bowls was actually leaking. There was no visible hole, but the soup in the bowl leaked onto the table as I was eating. 2) general hygiene: The table was sticky and the hot pot stove in the centre was crusted with food dregs in the cracks. I even saw a couple of eyelashes on the table. And I saw the chef picking his teeth with his fingers. 3) slow and inattentive service: There was only one waitress working the floor and the restaurant was pretty big. Even though there weren't a lot of customers, there were still too many tables for one person to handle. She never came b

Flo and I bought a voucher from SocialShopper to use at Point Zero Four Fusion. The voucher would entitle us to all you can eat hot pot for 2 people, plus a soup base of our choice, 2 drinks and 2 sauces. For $25 it wasn’t a bad deal at all. After we bought it, our friends warned us about this place. We looked online and saw horrid reviews. I know it’s probably not good to read reviews before going to a restaurant. We tried to keep an open mind when we visited. The interior is very large and has tons of seating! We both had Sour Plum juice to go with the hot pot. It’s not a drink for everyone, but pairs nicely. We added a few dollars to upgrade the drink to unlimited. The server wasn’t very keen on refilling our drinks and we ended up only drinking our 2 cups and the jug. We felt kinda ripped off since they said it was unlimited. Satay Soup Spicy soup wasn’t included in the voucher, so we added a few dollars to upgrade. There is definitely a few upgrades you need to do on top of the vo
