Review Xiaolongkan Hotpot - Richmond

R A
Best hotpot? Far from that. Nice decoration and atmosphere. Service was good. Soup was good (if you don't mind the MSG). Food was only so so. They don’t serve the top ingredients. Squid ball and shrimp ball were like those from supermarket. The wooden bench were also quite uncomfortable too. Price was around $50 per person without any expensive sea food.

Pretty good hotpot spot in Richmond. The broth wasn’t my favourite and service was a bit slow, but apart from that we had a great experience. While slow, the servers were very friendly. The sauce station is good. They have some excellent menu items, like a watermelon juice, that are unique and worth returning for. The meat platter is also a good value.

Atmosphere was nice, and rather busy for a Tuesday! It was good hotpot, we ordered a spread to try most everything. The meats are fresh, seafood is good and a great selection overall. It is a little pricey, around $70-80 per person without drinks. The sauce bar leaves much to be desired. For a restaurant of this price and size, there was one bar, which could comfortably accommodate 2 guests. Sauces were scarce and appetizers were non existent.

The decor and setup here is super and I got a feeling of dining back in old Chinese time, like in a movie ;) Ambience is nice, wonderful service and the food is great. Ingredients are fresh and nicely presented. The price is right as well. Will be our regular spot for hotpot next time.

Original style from Chengdu, Sichuan. You can smell when you enter the restaurant. Beef oil red hot pot is my favorite.

The moment you enter this place you'll be blasted with a bunch of different aromas. It smells so good and makes you immediately hungry. The meat quality is really good and the dragon boat full of meat we ordered is a very good deal. Also ordered this spiced up beef dish that was so freaking spicy. I couldn't handle it and the next day I'm suffering from it. There's a lot of parking in the back but the spots are all quite small. Highly recommend this place.
