Review Breadlicious Bakery - Richmond

The grandma here tells me they bake everything in the store and it doesn’t contain preservatives. Unfortunately I’m not sure if it is pandemic related but the white bread loaves are only baked every other day. My kids have enjoyed the bread as it is soft and delicious.

It's okay. Their buns are really bland and the dough not really fluffy. I didn't really like the milk shortbread, it was too hard. The pineapple cake was good though but still felt like something was missing.

Would have rated 0 stars if I could. Went here on a crunch but I should have just went to work hungry. Got food poisoned from their cocktail bun. For the price they’re charging, you should just go to one of the much better bun places within a 200m radius. There’s a much better place two lights down that won’t try to kill you.

I got this sandwich to go and it was delicious! Like Wow! It tasted like those sammies you get in Japanese 7 elevens or Taiwan Family Marts. Less than 3 bucks too!

Would not recommend, lady (based off all the other reviews, seems like she’s the owner) was rude for no reason, told us to leave because we couldn’t make up our minds fast enough on what we wanted to eat (was not there for more than 3mins, i was asking questions due to food allergies). She then went onto say she didn’t want my partner and I in the store due to the fear of us spreading covid to her (Partner and I were both masked with KN95s, had no covid symptoms either). Being a Chinese-Canadian myself, comments like that are not only uncalled for, but extremely offensive. If she didn’t feel comfortable with us being there, she definitely could’ve gone another way about it. There were no language barriers between her and i either as we both communicated in Cantonese. We ended up leaving without any purchase. Stay away from this place if you can.

Their red bean filling tastes bland and a bit dry in a homemade kind of way, try other things instead. ———————————— Good variety of selections, very fair prices. The bread texture and filling are a bit mediocre, but for what you pay for there’s nothing to complain about. I didn’t experience any rudeness and the service was okay. It’s a bakery, I don’t know what some of these commenters were expecting.

I was greeted at the door by the clerk. Between the two cream buns that I got I liked the triangle shaped one better (forgot the name) because it tasted fluffier, the long cream bun tasted staller. Overall would be back for the triangle bun if I was craving it.

Go chat with the owner cuz she is really nice :)

Not a bread fan, but their breads never disappointed me!
Tried all their Nature Yeast Breads(those pricey ones), chewy and not too sweet (The Durio flavor one is pretty sweet though)

My personal fav is the Black sesame mochi bread, always fully-stuffed with sesame sauce and, like, totally worth the price? (I thought it would only contained a little bit sesame because it happens quite often over other bread stores)

This bread store is not the delicacy kind of dessert store, no fancy pretty food for Instagram shooting, but a good place to satisfy your stomach with a little money.

Most of their bun have nothing in it.. just pain butter or coconut or sesame on top. I had tried their salt and pepper chicken bun ( too oily and tasteless )/ egg custard (not soft enough)/ pizza bun (oily), which you can find from their hot showcase. I also tried their spicy tuna bun (they put chili powder in top, bun was too hard, only one teaspoon of chewy tasteless tuna inside), dinner roll with Coconut was tasteless and hard like a rock, if u eat on next day. So far .. I like their mushroom / dried shredded pork bun.

They have better service when they were first opened. They try to make their bread and buns fancy and creative so they can sell them at a higher price. If you have not tried them, you might want to try them, but the kind of bread and buns that people want to have daily are the simple ones, not those 'special' ones. That is why the Kam Do Bakery at the Richmond Brighthouse station, which sells the regular flavours of bread and buns, is always crowded with people while there is always not much people at Breadlicious, which sells the irregular flavours of bread and buns. The service of Kam Do Bakery is not that good, but because they are selling what most people want, that place is always crowded. It is not so much about the price, it is about what people want.

... custard passable; tart crust was on the firm side though, not flaky at all as expected of even the most basic, avg custard tart...
