Review Wo Fung Noodle Express - Richmond

Nice noodle restaurant, especially famous for the deep fried chicken wings. Easy for parking. Tables have dividers in between to provide healthy distance and safety. Menu is set for you to pick what individual food you like.

I'm a big fan of HK style cart noodles and Wo Fung has executed it with perfection! I think every item on the menu is well made and tasty. Their deep fried chicken is definitely a standout item! I do not hesitate to recommend friends and family to this establishment. I have been their customer for over 20 years and I do not see that streak ending any time soon.

This Hong Kong noodle restaurant has a lot of great options for a fair price. The staff are very nice and the food arrives quickly after ordering. Would recommend!

As someone who loves noodles but who is a picky eater, this was heaven for me (likewise, my friend who hates making decisions had a heck of a time deciding). Overall though, this was a great cart noodle experience! The noodles were very delicious, and we were surprised by the quality of the chicken wings. The prices were quite good in comparison to most places in the Vancouver area, perfect noodle portion size for lunch (the chicken wings were also very big and made us feel very full afterwards). You can tell this place is popular with the locals due to the continuous lines up until 2PM. Only criticisms I had were: My friend’s hot HK milk tea appeared to taste a little overbrewed and had a weird bitter aftertaste Would have been helpful if the menu mentioned what vegetables and soup stock the noodles come in (we got yu choy and chicken soup base from what I could tell) Appearance: 2/2 Taste: 4/5 Texture: 2/2 Quantity/Quality: 2/3 Cleanliness: 1/2 Atmosphere: 2/3 Staff: 3/3 Total: 15/20 = 4/5

Wo Fung Noodle House offers HK style Cart Noodles, they have huge variety of toppings for you to choose from. I have yet been able to visit due to COVID, but things have certainly changed. On the ordering sheet, there were not indication of how much noodle base cost, and toppings can very from 1.25 to 2 ( I recall). Noodles portion was relatively small, not a lot of topping as well. I personally had it pretty full but my friend who is regular adult male finds it small and not filling. They do have amazing chicken wings, if you visit that a must have especially it comes in either 3 or 6, would be a good idea to share. On the other hand, they also offer HK style drinks some of them were overly sweeten and contain a lot of ice. A reminder to ask for less ice and less sugar. Due to the price and portion, I find Wo Fung is not as affordable as it used to be.

My favorite place for HK style milk tea. Been visiting them for years (started when they were at their old location) and never once been disappointed. Their deep fried squid tentacles are also delicious!

This review is based on my three times visit. Honestly, only the rice noodles taste fine. The wonton noodles and oil noodles is hard as steel wire. Curry fish ball has detergent taste for my last visit. Price is not super cheap with small portion. Waste a lot of plastic by using one time takeout plastic bowl and plastic cup for seat in customers. No wifi. The only thumb up is the service of the employee. They are very polite. My opinion is, not a lost if you don't go. If you goes, just expect having a lunch at McDonald, junk food.

Came here for the noodle soup, left loving the deep fried chicken wings more. They give you a sheet of paper and you get to pick the noodle type, meats, and veggies you want to have in your dish. I was surprised they didn't offer different broth types. Their broth is very underwhelming and lacked a lot in flavour. The meat was cooked perfectly though and was given a generous portion of it as well. The chicken wings are what you want to come here for though. Perfectly deep fried while still staying incredibly moist and juicy on the inside. Their milk tea is also not half bad as well!

well it was my first time - waiter tried 3 dialects before speaking to me in english - Guess i was misinformed as it's only Noodles, which is okay with me - they got my wife's order wrong and she's gluten intolerant - they put a deep fried pork me chop in made with wheat flour and rice flower - the took it back and i figure just took the pork chop and put in the extra veggies that were ordered - well needless to say later that evening she was not in good shape as the gluten was in the soup base - also kinda cheesy on the portions - have to order double to fill my needs and really as a eat in and using plastic bowls - Hummm - but I have to say the Chicken wings are really good

I liked the way the menu was presented bec its very clear and you can have the way you wanted it. The only down side is that theres more noodles than the soup! Common people, it could have been equally served and i wished that the soup bowl is not in a plastic container. Maybe its not just me but soup taste better in a ceramic bowl! ( plus of course we minimize plastic build ups w/c is good for the environment) other than that ill eat there again!

Best eats for $10 or less and Good and Parking wasn't an issue.

The mediocre food can get by, nothing worth writing home about. You get non-enthusiastic staff, you get food fair quality for restaurant price, you have to ask for an ice water, serviette, you have to bring your order slip to the counter...totally unacceptable.
It is the parking at the premises that I have a huge problem with. Diamond Parking is the enforcement company; they will wrongfully ticket you for walking off the lot and slap you with $80-$120 dollar "violation" ticket. So if you must dine at Wo Fung, don't bring your vehicle with you.

My go to place for Hong Kong street snacks. Very authentic, best in town. You can get noodle combos, deep fried items like chicken wings, tofu and curry fish balls.
There special deep fried chicken wings is the original recipes. There are many copy cats in town, and they are still the best.

Good noodles if you know what to order. Go with someone who knows what to order. Usually very busy so avoid going with a big group. Their fried chicken is delicious.

I’m always excited whenever Andrew flies into Vancouver – because the drive back from the airport is a great excuse to get some of the best damn chicken wings I’ve ever had! I first heard about these magical wings from a German girl while I was still living in London. She frequently flies into Vancouver, and always makes a stop for these wings, but all she could tell me was 1) that it wasn’t a chicken shop, and 2) it’s in a mall. I must have been living under a rock for 30 years. So when I was back in YVR, I literally scoped out all the food courts. Sure enough, when I was in Aberdeen Mall – EVERYONE, and I mean everyone, was wandering around with a pile of wings. I followed the trail, and lo and behold: Wo Fung Desserts. Don’t be fooled by the name. I don’t even know why its called a dessert bar since they serve wings, noodles, Taiwanese appetizers and drinks, and ironically – no dessert. But if this is what it is, then I’ll have dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Cafeteria style. You pick the type of noodle and 2 toppings for $6, and pay at the cashier before you eat. Quick and satisfying hot bowl of noodle in soup on a cold day. It's better than eating mcd. I'm not gonna say what toppings those are in my photo. If you eat them you know what they are :P

Chicken wings to die for.... Our expectations were set high when we decided to visit this place, since it has been recommended to us from one of our HongKonger. And this place did stand up to them. The chicken wings were bigger than what we expected (pleasant surprise) and just REALLY delicious. The noodle cart was pretty good, especially for the price that it's at.
Overall, I would consider this to be a perfect lunch place.
Yummy.

Noodles are the bomb. I first came here to try the famous chicken wings with my boyfriend. The second time I came back I tried the noodles and they are THE BOMB. Such a good deal for a bowl of satisfying noodles where you can choose which type of noodle you want and what type of sides you would like with your noodles. The secret to a bowl of delicious noodles is always to get the beef brisket soup! Pour it into your soup and thank me later. Although the food is great, the ordering style at this restaurant is a bit weird. You order and pay for your meal at the door with the guy standing behind a computer, and then you find a seat to sit. When your food is ready they will bring it to you, but if you want utensils you must go get it yourself. I guess this may also be a good thing because you do not have to leave a tip because they aren't actually serving you. I think they are trying to keep it food court style, much like their food court store at Aberdeen.

Used to be inside Aberdeen Center and famous for their chicken wings. This place gets the essence of quick lunch options. Cheap, good food, good flavor and a casual thank you. I'm coming back for sure. Thank you guys. BTW, excellent move for getting out of that dreadful Aberdeen Mall.
I Love Food
Typical mom and pop shop. LOVE their deep fried wings! Been coming to this business for more than 10 years with the original location
I Eat Out A Lot
Anyone remember the original Aberdeen Centre? I had the pleasure of working there as a young adult. Every weekend I got to eat the original and famous "Fung Sa Gai Yick" Wind Sand chicken wing. It was the best wings in town. I enjoyed them at the new Aberdeen as well, that is until they sold the business... Once I heard they were reopened in Richmond I had to go. Oddly I'm left feeling unsatisfied... I'm not saying it was bad, but sadly not as good as I remembered. Go try it out, and be your own judge. It's not great but not bad either. The noodles were nothing special either. But the meal was filling and inexpensive.

Since this place was taken over, the quality has somewhat changed for the worse as the deep fried tofu with fish paste now does not have the same seasonings that they used to offer, which does not do much for the taste. Also, prices have steadily increased and I am no longer a customer because of that. I do love Leung Kee on the other side, however. That is consistent and delicious!

Mediocrity In Price and Quality. Came here one evening to try their "cart noodles". For the price, I guess the size was appropriate. Don't expect to be filled up with the "cart noodle", because it is definitely small. The quality of the ingredients is questionable and the taste was only marginally better than home-made instant noodles. In this day and age, if they want to compete with the likes of Deer Garden and other noodle places they're going to have to do a lot better.

Best Wind Sand Wings. Best wind sand wings. Wings are full wings which includes tips and drumlette. Well marinated and very crispy. Drinks are a bit expensive and bland.
Premeditated Gluttony
If you have ever been to the food court at Aberdeen Centre mall in Richmond, you would have noticed that one of the longer lineup would be for Wo Fung Dessert. And what were all those people lining up for? It wasn’t their dessert, it was for their deep fried chicken wings. Last year the ownership of the food court stall changed now called Wu Fung Dessert, along with it disappeared the old chicken wing recipe we had all loved so much. Well, I have news for you, I have found them; both the original owners and their chicken wings. They have set up a small restaurant in a complex on Alexandra Road in Richmond. They offer a variety of Hong Kong style snacks along with a build-your-own soup noodle. There are so many different toppings that you can literally eat a different bowl of noodles each day of the month. Bottom line is that I go there for the wings. So if you missed the original chicken wings, now you know where to find them. Restaurant

Wo Fung Noodle Express is spin-off or sister or the original amazing chicken wing and cart noodle joint in Richmond. I say it is all of these because supposedly the owners of this new location are the original owners of the Aberdeen food court location (Wu Fung Dessert), who then sold it, but decided to get back into the game, and reopened this second restaurant with a confusingly similar name. I come here somewhat frequently but for some reason I always forget my camera, but I finally got some pictures (but this blog is being written almost 2 months after I last went)!I prefer Wo Fung because its not in Aberdeen, which means easier parking, less crowds, and less of a wait! What we ate (and drank): Ice Lemon Tea Pretty standard, I prefer a more sweet version though Its a weird thing to base preference on but I really like these thicker, stronger cups! (compared to a bubble tea cup) Ice Milk Tea Also pretty standard but I find the sweetness level is better But these drinks aren’t what

It's a small and simple restaurant, just order and pay up soon as you decide what you'd like. No hussle and bussle of servers which I love, they just get straight to the point. I simply can't wait to come back to Wo Fung. Noodles! Chicken! Curry! If they've got it I'll eat it! I really liked going here with Michael, he is one of the few people Remembering this magical fried chicken and having a chance to share that childhood memory is a wonderful feeling.

Three wings from Wo Fung probably equals seven or eight wings at your local sports bar. When they say one wing, they mean one WHOLE wing, with the drumette, wingette, and funky end piece intact. I know I mentioned it, but let me reiterate that the wings came out of the kitchen PIPPING HOT. Smoke was coming out of my first wing as I was biting into it. The skin was thinly breaded with a little flour, some salt, and most likely a dusting of MSG.

Wo Fung Noodle Express 和豐車仔麵 Richmond moved from Aberdeen Mall. The owners of Wo Fung Dessert had sold the food court stall to open a restaurant on Alexandra Road aka “Eat Street”. The restaurant operates much like it does a food court. Pay first. Seat yourself and the food will arrive later. Condiments, sauces, chili oil are self serve.

You order and pay at the counter when you come in and choose your own seats. Super casual, and I can see this system not suited for everyone. Plus, it's cash only which is always a beech. :P They serve up noodles in soup with options of 2 toppings, 3 toppings, or 4 toppings for different prices. Everything is sold seperately so if you get an entree, a side of chicken wings, and a drink, it'll add up. I realized this when I ordered a noodle in soup and shared 6 pcs of chicken wings with B-boy. My bill came up to $10 which I thought was surprisingly much for such a casual type setting. I chose the 2 Topping Noodles in Soup w/ Flat Rice Noodles, Curry Fishballs, and Corn .

Overall, if you missed the old “Wo Fung Dessert” then you’re in luck cause they are back! If you haven’t had them before, try their snacks, it won’t disappoint. The ambiance felt like a fast food restaurant, the table was a little sticky and the bowls they use were plastic foam which really isn’t too good for your body. The price is very similar if not identical to their old prices. Try it out and let me know what you think!

In search for a quick and light lunch, the newly opened Wo Fung came to mind. Wo Fung Noodle Express used to be at Aberdeen Centre food court, but they sold the business to what is now Wu Fung Dessert . Since then, they have moved into this space and opened up Butaya . Recently, they have modified the space to a noodles house instead, which is great, since that is really what they do best. Also, they have their famous deep fried chicken wings again! Reminiscent of the fast food restaurants in Hong Kong such as Cafe de Coral , patrons simply walk in, sit wherever they please (and is socially acceptable), and walk up to a counter to order and pay. I like it. It's an efficient system, though I can imagine some complaints about the system. We each ordered the cart noodles with two toppings each ($5) . The concept of "cart noodles" is that customers can mix and match their choice of noodles with different toppings. Since Deer Garden Signatures no longer offers cuttlefish balls, in search Ri
FOOD FOR BUDDHA
Buddha Boy and I couldn't recall from memory how the wings suppose to taste, but from this experience, other than being freshly deep fried, these wings really had no character.

Nanzaro and I had lunch at Wo Fung Noodle Express on a long weekend. He insisted to go out for lunch. Wo Fung Noodle Express is located in the eat street of Richmond, Alexandra Road. It’s a medium size restaurant with regular tables and high long tables seating. It is operated like the food court style where you order and pay for your food first at the reception counter. This restaurant originates from the Wo Fung Dessert in Aberdeen Foodcourt. I had a hot milk tea for my drink. It is $1.50. Nanzaro wanted their famous deep fried chicken wings. Three for $4.25. Almost all the tables had this. I had a Noodle Combo with four ingredients for $6.50. My choice of noodle is rice noodle. The four ingredients which I picked were pork intestines, pork neck, fried tofu and fresh mushroom. The mushroom has a weird taste to it. Nanzaro ordered A Noodle Combo with three ingredients for $5.75. The ingredients of his choice were wonton, fried fish cake and cuttle fish ball. Nanzaro’s choice of noodle
