Review Kungfu Fish - Richmond

First time trying this place. Ordered a combo for four. Good amount of tasty food for price. Price is reasonable, keep in mind dining out prices have gone up 40-100% in recent years thanks to reckless irresponsible fiscal and monetary policies.

Fish wasn’t that tasty and below the average. On the other hand, the stir fry dishes were not bad.

We recently went to Sichuan Kungfu Fish for dinner and had a great experience. We ordered the fish with a few other side dishes and all of them were fantastic. The portion size of the fish was much more than we expected and the taste exceeded our expectations. The service was superb too. The waitress there were very at tentative and frequently came by and ask if we needed anything. Whenever we ran out of water or tea they would come and refill the pot without us even asking. Overall I recommend this place.

I give five stars for the experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is presented so decoratively and tastes so authentically Chinese. One goes for the vibes..... Like being whisked away to a Kung fu movie... The frog could be fresher... But other than that staff and chef did a close to flawless job.

Been here multiple times with coworkers for dinner. Always been good, fresh ingredients and a clean venue. Service is attentive and nice to deal with. They have some nice set menu items that provide a good value.

The food here is good, but gosh, the low-level of training that the staff receives here is unbelievable! It's so low that it's like ridiculous. Not even the manager on duty was able to clearly explain what was the difference between the soup bases that go with their grilled fish that is the freaking signature dish of the house!!!!! Unbelievable! They have a double issue there. The owner does not give a s* and the young punks who work there do not put the minimum effort to learn about the products they work with, i.e, they don't give a s* either. If everything those people do is to take orders and move stuff around, you can fire everybody and replace them with robots... Another thing, you will see in the picture that the food does not come smoking hot from the kitchen.. it's kind of cold actually... You have to wait it to get hot using the fire under the big dish. I had the same type do food in China many many times and it came smoking hot every single time. They definitely need to step up their game here.

Came to Kungfu fish and was seated promptly. I've been a couple times and have always enjoyed it. This last occasion was my best experience to date and prompted this review. Our table of 8 had a bunch of appetizers, calamari, lamb skewers, chicken wings, their house fried rice, and bobo chicken. Personally I love the bobo chicken and skewers. I also dig the variety of drinks. The bottled ice tea looks like a kids drink but it's my fave... Or the light beer on tap. For our mains we had this spicy crab and an off-menu lobster? Make sure to ask about it I think it's a secret menu item and it was by far the best thing I've ever had in my handful of visits. In the past I've had service range from average to over the top. This time our server was always checking in, switching out dirty plates and helpful with the crab/lobster accessories (napkins, disposable gloves for lobster juices and apron). Essentially a great experience and I rarely ever write reviews! Please try their fried mochi!
