Review Fujiya Japanese Foods - Richmond

I find the Commercial drive location to has more to offer, I went mid afternoon and there was no sushi left. I guess they sell out quick. There doesn't seem to be as much ready prepared foods too. Found out you can actually order their sushi online if you go late in the day (preorder at least 1 day)!

Small Japanese grocery chain know for its takeout bento, makimono, donburi. Though appears to have fewer selection than the downtown Vancouver location. Small interior, narrow aisles. Free outdoor plaza parkade.

Decent Japanese grocery store, and they offer take out bento boxes. The quality of take out is not of the great quality, or at the appealing prices any longer. But still not bad as emgergency take out place.

I love this place. It is a great source of Japanese treats. They have a ready to eat food bar and a small eating area but I only ever come here for groceries. They also have a lot of packaged snacks and treats. The ladies who run it are very knowledgeable on recipes and can direct you to the correct dishes and spices, even sending you to alternatives if they don't have it. You can also occasionally special order from them. Prepared food is usually pretty good, though on slow sales days it might have sat for awhile. No bathroom here, because it isn't a true restaurant. Parking is great, but they are only on two bus routes.

The sushi found in the fridge isn't as good as it used to be but their sushi online is a lot better. You gotta try it to believe it. The shop is always clean and tidy; staff is prompt and courteous SOMETIMES if you are lucky. Please always note the fine print for the origin of the product. It may look like it is from Japan but in these two cases...THEY ARE NOT. Please steer clear of any food that says MADE IN CHINA.

Has a decent amount of Japanese products. Nice little store if you need to quickly pick something up.

Worth going to. A Bento box $10. Very small place but nice selection.

Was skeptical with the frozen ramen they sell but i tried it and its a miracle. Better than ramen from an average restaurant for sure.... plus i put in an extra other noodle and so its super cost effective at the end.
