Review Sushi Han - Richmond

Munchica
The sushi rice here is nice, vinegary, and sweet. The salmon Maki was good but the salmon skin on the BC roll lacked crunch. The chirashi don, Toro nigiri, Hotate Nigiri, and all the sushi was up to par and tasted fresh. The service is average but the sushi is good enough that it's worth eating again.

Great dinning experiance at Sushi Han. We ordered calofornia sushi roll, dragon roll, spicy salmon , tuna and avacaodo roll with mesu soup. Delicious sushi and best customer service. Seating is comfortable with fabelous ambiance and environment. Straight 5 stars and I recommend it.

My go to for their beautifully presented and good value pokebowl! Their takeout is carefully assembled, and always sufficient condiments. I have eaten here for lunch and dinner On multiple occasions. I am satisfied each time with the careful preparation and presentation.

Excellent sushi, sashimi, tempura and teriyaki. We’ll do this again.

I ordered from there and chose the prawn gyoza. No other ingredients were disclosed on the menu so i made the decision to order them as it only stated prawns. I ate 4 and then noticed a meaty looking substance. I called and it was then told to me that there was pork in them!! I have not eaten pork in 25 years and was very upset. The woman on the phone was not empathetic or apologetic.

My wife and I recently had Bento Boxes @ Sushi Han, in Blundell Shopping Centre, in Richmond B.C. She had chicken teriyaki & I had beef teriyaki. We agreed that our food was delicious, attractively presented, and reasonably priced. Our server was friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Loved everything on the bento box! Except for the tempura, I think it was cooked rightly, but tasted flat.. Definitely recommend!

The food quality has gone down significantly since it reopened with new owners. It used to be owned by a small Japanese family. The new renovations are nice and can seat a lot more people. Recently they've been adding more menu items including aburi sushi. The food was average there.

I'm surprised on the reviews below coz I've been there a few times after the change of ownership. My first visit was last December around Christmas time. It wasn't very busy on a Tuesday night. I was amazed by the warm welcome of the servers when I walked into the restaurant. They all wore big smiles. OK I got my tea and menu right after I was seated and after I ordered, food came really fast. Food quality was good and I was impressed that salmon there was sockeye salmon and not farmed salmon which obviously was more expensive while the price was more or less the same as other sushi places. <br/><br/>I'd definitely go back coz I've been there a few times already after my first visit and would highly recommend to friends.

Sushi Han has been around for the longest time in the Blundell Centre strip mall.  We’ve been coming here on and off for years, but noticed they have changed ownership not too long ago.  We asked our server one time who confirmed Sushi Han is under new management. It was not too busy when we got there Thursday evening for dinner. Sushi Han is quite spacious with booth seating throughout.

They changed ownership, it is now all under "mandarin" speaking. Staff is using bare hands mixing sushi rice !!I cannot imagine those sashimi....

overpriced food with below average quality food as well as terrible services - bad place to go and will not return.  Be prepared to wait forever if you go to eat in there coz they are super slow
Momo
poor service and forever waiting - it might be because I entered at dinner time but it took more than 30 mins to get seated and more than 10 mins to get the tea and even longer time waiting for the food. Will NOT go back again

I will never go back for sure. Service was <br/>really poor and nothing special about the food. I don't recommend nothing from there. Terrible place to go.

Over price item, poor quality food. Too expensive while sashimi is fishy and frozen

Bad service, overpriced food, not properly trained staff. They are very short of staff and they are not properly trained!! I sat down at 11:30 while they open, ordered food and waited for almost 40mins still don't see my food coming, then i ask the server to check my order, then I waited for another 15 mins, after almost 1 hour, I finally got my order, the salmon hand cone I received looks terrible, i am sure I can do a better job than that. Anyways, highly not recommend this place!! the sushi is overpriced, and the food looks horrible!!

Bad service. Bad food. Ask to leave to make room for others. Bento box chicken was raw. No flavour. The salad dressing was like water And tempura sauce was coloured water. Sent chicken back to be cooked. Arrived like rubber. Unable to eat. Enjoying a cup of tea and was asked to leave to make room for other patrons. I have never been asked to leave any restaurant before and never left a bad review ! Won't be back.

Sushi Horrible. Stopped in for a late Lunch on February 13, 2014. Only one other couple in the Restaurant, and we were seated quickly. Server wiped table off and we had to ask her to wipe it again as it was still wet and still dirty. Ordered the tempura, it came soggy and dark, inedible! The agadashi was also soggy, sitting in the sauce. The gomi with peanut butter, unfortunately didn't have any peanut butter on it and was not made fresh, clearly they had prepared it previously and left it in the fridge waiting for some hapless soul. Altogether a very poor dining experience. I eat Japanese frequently and this is one of the worst. I will never go back!

Portions are medium size, not much meat in noodle dishes, Bento very bland. Just not good value for the money.

I tried this place out many years ago back in the old location and it was good. Came here again today.... Lets say this place was a bit of a disappointment. <br/><br/>I had a free nigiri. I had the wakame seaweed... It was tough and had very little taste. <br/><br/>Masago- this was tiny the masago was half way up the seaweed wrap. Matsuyama charges 99 cents and the masago is piled high, way above the seaweed line. <br/><br/>Smoked salmon- this was pretty tasteless and slightly fishy (not fresh)<br/><br/>Had the beef udon- this was filled with msg I was so thirsty. The beef was tough, and it was literally beef sliced onion and udon. Wouldn't kill them to put some veggies in. Overall a let down compared to other Japanese places. <br/><br/>Had the chicken teriyaki, this was tasteless and small. <br/><br/>Overall did not like this place, search elsewhere I suggest matsuyama, seto or koto

Umm...no thanks!. I don't usually write reviews but I just HAD to for this place.<br/><br/>Took the wrong advice from a co-worker and decided to try Sushi Han out instead of my regular Osaka Today (two doors down). Totally gonna get him back! >:(<br/><br/>Service:<br/>Called in for pick-up and she made me wait on the phone for 10 minutes before taking my order. No, she did not put me on HOLD. She made me wait while I hear her yelling to her kitchen staff in the background. <br/><br/>The renovation was really nice but they were really under staffed. For a room capacity of 50 people, they only had two servers. And though she said the food would be ready in 15 mins, when I got there the food was still not put together and she made me wait another 15 mins. <br/><br/>Food:<br/>Ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box but the rice was overcooked and tasteless (no vinegar in the rice) which made the sushi mushy. The sushi wasn't rolled tight enough so it fell apart as soon as it was picked up. <br/>Avocado in the california roll wasn't ripe enough so it was like biting into a raw fruit. The chicken teriyaki was also mini sized with only a few drizzle of sauce. <br/><br/>If I continue, I won't have any space left. All in all. Um...no thanks. Won't be going back.

My mom used to frequent this place before the renovation and the move to a new location. Unfortunately when we decided to visit the new location, we shocked and appalled to find that the service had deteriorated. Or rather, they expanded but kept the same number of workers. I waited to be seated for ten minutes and none of the waitresses even glanced at me. I finally had to wave one down as she was hurrying by. She seated us at a table that had been vacant the entire time.<br/><br/>The katsu Don that I got was mediocre at best and the rolls that I got were very loosely wrapped and fell apart entirely too easily. <br/><br/>I won't be back.

This used to my go to place for cheap and decent quality sushi. Unfortunately this is all history now because the restaurant has decided to increase the prices from $1/piece to $1.25 to $1.50. The steep increase is not justified by the quality either. In other words, I am paying 25-50% more per piece for the same quality (sometimes for worse quality)<br/>. To be honest, their service has gone downhill as well because they are way understaffed after moving to this newer and bigger location. I am sad to say this, but I won't be returning in the near future.

Not enought staff. Too bad that they now have a much larger restaurant and not added any more service staff. Used to love going here but it's increasing desperate for service.

Totally in love with the spider roll! Must try!!! & reasonably priced :)

The best sunomono salad in the whole wide world. Reasonable price and great food! Nice place.

Better Sushi Than Washington. I recently visited Vancouver from Tacoma, Washington. I stopped in at Sushi Han in Richmond to get a quick bit to eat. I was expecting to get another generic sushi experience, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had the Spicy Salmon Roll and the Dynamite roll and would highly recommend both. This place was much better than any place that I've visited in Washington State.

No Good. Service was terrible. Food was mediocre and overpriced. $3 for about three bites of Gomae salad.

Not that great.. I grabbed lunch at sushi han today with my niece, and it was disappointing.<br/><br/>the crispy gyoza tastes like it's in some kind of weird pastry instead of the usual gyoza wrappers. not very good. I had the beef teriyaki don, and the beef wasn't quite cooked, there was a lot of gristle and fat on the meat, and the teriyaki sauce was gingery and weird. I'd remembered it being GOOD before, but my memory failed. they may well have the best rolls on the planet, but I doubt it. I think it was also slightly overpriced for what you got in terms of quality. the service was pleasant, but quite inattentive.<br/><br/>my niece had the veggie lunch box and rated it as so-so.<br/><br/>I won't go back for teriyaki anything again, and not the gyoza either. maybe for rolls, but if I want ones that I know will be good for sure, I'll just go to mt. fuji in ladner.

Saturday night dinner with my husband was quite good. Service was friendly and very fast. Ordered a sukiyaki don, negioro don and gomae to share. Negitoro don was the best, rice was mushy in the sukiyaki don but still tasty, gomae was tasty but quite small for $3. I would still come back for a quick meal.

Terribly small portions for the price their spicy tuna roll has a small piece of tuna the size of my pinky nail and the rest is filled with rice

I did notice a very family vibe going on that I really liked. Not a hint of pretentiousness here.  Nature Girl chose the 1/2 Order Salmon Sashimi ($5.00)  and we were surprised to see a lean deep red cut as opposed to 'normal' farmed sashimi that has a lighter colour and fattier texture. This was definitely wild sockeye salmon. Giant thumbs up on quality. Based on Misu's recommendation, we both orde

Despite having driven past this establishment for eight years in my life, I never once considered going to Sushi Han; it just wasn't of interest to me.   I have to note though, those seven years took place from kindergarten to grade seven.  It wasn't until I had read on 365 Days of Dining  that I decided to give it a shot for a quick lunch. I opted for sushi box G ($10.50), which came with seven pieces of nigiri sushi as well as tuna maki.   The tai sushi was alright, but I found the other pieces of fish to be boring.  The tamago was a disappointment with its grey-ish tinge and crumbly interior. Mama Leung opted for the  prawn and croquette set with sashimi ($8.95).   I probably would not have chosen this, especially when they spell out croquette and not the anglicized Japanese name, "korokke".  Not that it makes things any better or worse -- it just feels wrong.  The fried potato looked more like a hash brown than a korokke, but the prawn wasn't bad. Hiding underneath the plate of sau
