Review Bamboo Express - Richmond

The best Western Chinese food I have ever had! It's actually made fresh to each order so you have to wait a bit, but the food comes piping hot. The sweet and sour pork was still crispy despite the sweet and sour sauce, the fried rice was hot and fresh, and the chop suey was a generous portion of fresh veggies. Surprisingly impressed. Tasted better than a lot of Chinese formal restaurants.

Tasty and fast restaurant for Chinese food, it's cheap but delicious, if you order ahead on the phone and pick up at the store you get 10% off of your order. A single dish could easily be share between two people. The service is quick and the cashier is helpful. It took around 15 minutes to get my order ready on a busy night.

We ordered doordash from this place and there was an ant in the wonton soup. Definitely didn't crawl in fresh as it was cooked down but you can see its little legs... Everything else tasted pretty dry and bland. Please do not order from here.

Stopped here after shopping nearby. Place looked busy...lots of people coming out with takeout orders. I ordered S&S pork, honey garlic ribs, green beans with beef & black beans, and young chow rice (shrimp & bbq pork)...then drove it home to New West! Still hot when I got home. DELICIOUS! S&S pork still crunchy even with sauce....beans were so good!! honey garlic ribs were delicious. rice was good - lots of shrimp! good find. will come here again even though I live in New West. Quick service! No photos...I was too busy stuffing my face!

No comment for food, but the store-self delivery service is heartbroken this time. The deliver gentleman who might have a bad day today, was restless and impolite. You almost dropped one of my dinner bags down the ground with a rudely manner before me while I refused to tips you. It's quite sad to me now, preferring I did give $10 to make you happier and myself better bit. One more score for store manager's apologies. Tips is not mandatory consumption, all time, it depends on the professional and interactive with customers. Not FREE DELIVERY bad mood, but food, is that right? Remove it from your menu and be more careful.

I love this place. I live in steveston and I'll even take the bus to come here before 4:30 delivery time. After 4:30 the delivery is fast and amazing. This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Richmond!

I had for the first time tonight and always nervous of trying new places. I got it delivered and the woman who answered the phone, so nice and friendly. The food came quick and it was so good. I got the basics I always get, sweet&,sour pork, lemon chicken, lettuce wraps, veg chow main, veg chop suey, wonton soup and all of it was great. I am not a big fan of wonton soup but it was good (I've had some I couldnt eat before). Delivery driver was very nice and friendly too. Highly recommend and will go back for sure

Wooow! Finally. I have been searching and searching for a bean sprout dish. Finally found one without noodles! And I LOVED IT! I will definitely go back to try more food but it’s a 10/10 for me.

We were craving for some fried rice after reading the menu at the door of Bamboo Express located in the Blundell Centre strip mall. This place has been here for a long time but we’ve never tried it. From looking at the menu, you can sort of tell it serves mostly westernised Chinese food/takeout.

Love the Singapore Noodles, the Salt and Spice Pork Chops and the Beef and Broccoli.
Also order the Japanese chow mein every time.
Best "American" Chinese food there is.

Best Chinese food Canadian style !!!. We tend to order the Chicken Chow Mein, Mixed Vegtable Fried Rice,Chicken Chop Suey,Chicken Egg Foo Young,Boneless Sweet & Sour Pork, & side orders of large size currie sauce & large S & S sauce.
We do order the other foods on the menu sometimes & it is also very tasty

The food is always tasty & always nice & hot.
The service is very good as well.
Sandy ,Melody & other staff are always so friendly.

Many times I've chatted with customers who work as cooks at other kitchens/ restaurants.
When workers/cooks who work at other restaurants stop & order at Bamboo Express that surely gives a positive review. Hungryworker. When I was working out that way I went there almost every day. The food was really good. the chow mein maybe didn't have tons of ingredients but the price on lunch menu was only $3.25 per item. Really cheap & much, much better than eating Ronald's garbage down the parking lot. Not greasy at all. Wonton soup was excellent & had no problems with either the food or the service in the 13 ,months I dealt with them, but I only had lunch there never around for dinner.

Not going to be my place. I ordered here bc it was close and reviews indicated it would be ok. The girl who took my order had very good English and got it right. This was refreshing. The food though.... Think mall court Chinese and you have a good idea. I've actually had better mall court food though.

Me and my mates all came to the same conclusion so I'm not just being picky.

This place isn't awful but it's not good enough to eat at twice either. The amount of positive reviews floors me.

Excellent Western Chinese Food. Excellent Food. . Feb 2014. Second time ordering Combo #1 . Both times excellent western Canadian Chinese food. Please don't change anything and I will always come back for the best take out food I have had in a long time.

Refund. I actually called back for a refund on this place probably one of the worst qualities of chineese food I 've ever had. I don't know what that other person is talking about when they say delicious chicken balls they were horrible. The chicken balls we got when you take a bite the rest of it falls out of the coating and they were way over deep fried. The chicken chow mein had bones in the chicken and the noodles were very dry and clumped together you could tell it wasn't fresh at all, very bad quality of food in general

Cheap, dirty Chinese food. I'm talkin' real cheap. $5 for 2 items. Massive servings. Love it.

Fast, descent food and the chicken balls are delicious!

We like it. Each time I visit Richmond I get take-out from Bamboo Express for my elderly mother and me. We have found it to be very good and, most of all, consistent in the quality. For a take-out place I am very pleased with it. We especially like the lettuce wrap. The head of lettuce is always very fresh and large. I would guess, by the number of people that I see ordering here, that it is a favorite of the locals.
Nancy
Got my order wrong.. And not sure what the "chicken" was. Yuck!

When I'm desperate. Words that describe Bamboo Express: Greasy, tasteless, quick, cheap

And when I say greasy I mean GREASY

Not off to a good start. Just made my first order. Already off to a bad start. The girl who answered told me to wait, and then didn't press mute and was talking to somebody else there while I sat like a fool for 2 mins and 43 secs for her to get back to me. Think I'm being petty? Just try right now to sit and stare at your wall clock for 2 mins and 43 secs. it goes by slowww...especially when you haven't even ordered anything yet. When she finally returned to the phone, she asked me wait again, and I was on hold for another 1 min and 17 secs. Not cool. When she finally returned a third time, she was actually polite, but that still doesn't make up for the unexplained holding time. The good part was (and I don't mean this in any racist way) was that she was able to take my order properly and her english was strong. If you are going to answer a restaurant's phone and take orders, you need to be able to COMMUNICATE, and if your restaurant is not a members only club and offers its services to the public, then you should have someone who understands english and any other secondary language is a tremendous bonus. Living in Richmond, I can't tell you how many times i ordered from a place where the person did not understand a word I was saying and i would get the wrong items sent to me. On 2 occasions, I even had a person who couldn't speak english AT ALL, and they eventually just hung up because they were unable to understand a word I was saying. Nice.

I'm about to eat now. I'll let you know how it tastes. As far as service is concerned, I give them a 4 out of 10.
