Review Kisamos Greek Taverna - Richmond

Peter Estrada
My wife and I were about 4 years ago. We came back to celebrate my birthday. This local family run business didn't disappoint. I ordered the roast lamb and my wife ordered the calamari dinner. We had the hummus and pita to start. All the meals were so delicious. I used to be able to finish this meal but I hit a wall about 1/3 of the way. I took the rest home and ordered extra pita and tzatziki. Its like I barely touched the meal. I'm gonna enjoy my leftovers. They know their stuff here. Staff are friendly and attentive. Thank you for a very special meal.

The lamb chops are good and so is the soup with rice. Love this salad, it is loaded with shrimp. The dressing is very good to the last drop. The calamari dinner is ok, the squid was a bit gummy. The pita with tzatziki is a very good choice. I think the management treat their staff well coz they seem happy. I observed that they have lots of phone orders, the food pick-up was efficient.

Tasty Souvlaki. We had with chicken and calamari. Saganaki a bit too oily but also tasty. 4 stars for that both of us had one olive in the salad and their interior needs renovation.

Wonderful spices and large portions. The staff are attentive and friendly. We may have to come again!

LOVE THIS PLACE. My fave Greek place and I’m glad I live so close to it. Portions have not changed even with covid. Delicious as ever. This time we tried the 2 person seafood platter… yes. These pictures are for two people… you can for sure feed 4 people or more with it haha. Everything tastes delicious!!

Kisamos is one of the best kept secrets for Greek food lovers. The restaurant has been there for decades and has been serving Richmond with delicious food and a huge portion of food back then and now. The roasted lamb is my entire family's favourite. The lamb is so well marinated, soft and tender, and simply so satisfying. A dish you must try. After the pandemic, the portion of food is slightly smaller but the quality is still the best for the value of your money. Many hospitality businesses struggle immensely during Covid and Kisamos is no difference. Lately even the take out orders were steaming hot and well prepared. I for one would always go back there when my craving for Greek food gets the best of me.

Very impressed. Friendly reception. Reasonable price, Quality and quantity of the food are great. My plate is chicken with pantabano mushroom. My wife plate is Kisamos pasta with chicken. Strongly recommend

The best place to eat greek food! Lamb roast are awesome. Good service and ambience to lighten the mood. A definite recommend!

Amazing restaurant!! Best Greek food in town, the calamari always super fresh and the roast lamb is the best item ever, big portions always. Been going to Kisamos for over 15 years!!

Such an amazing place. It's decorated in such a homey manner and the service was amazing- at one point I wanted my water filled up but the waiters were elsewhere, and then as if to read my mind, she was there filling up my water.<br/><br/>We ordered the Kisamos and seafood platter- they were spectacular. I tried moussaka for the first time, which was very so-so to me. I wish the calamari hadn't been covered in so much flour, as I'd rather be eating the calamari. All the dishes are quite oily, but very nice, disregarding that. The dips that came with each platter were spot-on! I would love to eat the dips and pita bread again. <br/><br/>Would 100% recommend this cheery restaurant! :)

Video review with HD footage on my youtube channel: vancity food crew kisamos greek taverna<br/>.<br/>This place was easily one of the better Greek restaurants I have been to. We shared the calamari to start, and even though the potato and rice pilaf were standard, the mains were outstanding. I really enjoyed the savoury roast lamb, my eating partners had lamb souvlakia and spanakopita and thoroughly enjoyed theirs as well. The follow up with ek mek was nice too, and they have a variety of other desserts. I would eat here again no question.

Only sent review as 2.0 as server was so rude, I was a woman alone looking for a nice dinner by myself, she shot me down saying they could not waste a table on one person in case they had a large table come in. She invited me to leave, saying it was "Her" place. I missed out on an excellent Greek supper because of this person. Will never be back, now have to find another Greek place in Richmond. Damn!

Being an avid Greek Food lover thought of visiting this Tony Greek eatery in our historic village.the ambiance was warm and pleasant. The hostesses were quite friendly and charming. The food we ordered was scrumptious. The lamb toast accompanied with rice pilaf, roasted potatoes, Greek salad and yogurt was quite tasty and filing. The chicken pasta was quite nice and the flavour was lingering. We ordered for half liter Sangria which was just awesome. The place is not only value for money but also a great place to spend some quality time with friends and family. My recommendation... GO FOR IT!!!

June 20, 2017<br/><br/>I went there for lunch with hubby, after I read few high recommendations from this app. Why not give it a try?!<br/><br/>We tried:<br/>roast lamb --- it's really melt in my mouth, but a lot of oil underneath the rice, lamb and even greek salad, it's tasty, I like the lamb, but my hubby don't like it, he said it's tasteless to him, but the Greek salad was tasteless, I only can taste a lot of olive oil without balsamic vinegar in it, the worst thing is tzatziki sauce was tasteless/ thick greek yogurt with tiny cucumber inside)<br/>my hubby order chicken souvlakia (it's dried and tasteless, no clue why people said that... it's juicy here?)<br/>baklava--- omg... it's worst baklava in our life, they put water down honey on bottom of baklava, made it soggy, not crispy and chewy.<br/>The bread was extremely oily, not crispy outside, just hot oily bread.<br/>The only thing I can say .... it's cheap and big portion, noting special.

This is my girl's favourite Greek restaurant. We always dine here when we are in the Steveston area. Food is pretty damn good! The roast lamb shoulder melts in your mouth and the platter for 2 is great if you just wanna have a few beers. Very hospitable staff. Highly recommended!

Went here for a late lunch/early dinner with some school friends for a former club reunion. Decor of the place was the homey feel of a typical taverna. Can't complain.I had the kefthes meatball dinner and the ekmek for dessert. Also had the privelege of trying some wonderfully tender lamb ❤ All of our food was delicious! All of the food (including the desserts) are all made in-house and that definitely shined through! Our server was friendly and attentive as well. Kisamo's I will come visit you again soon ☝<br/><br/>P.S. Service on my latest visit was quite questionable. Our server seemed very impatient, almost irritable. Not very pleasant at all! The food however, was spectacular and reallly was the saving grace of this particular visit.

Ok, so I have read the Reviews and have determined this so far:<br/>-older Cranky waitress who is Rude<br/>-hit and miss food quality <br/>-inconsistent <br/>So after having a special someone ( cute girl😉) suggest this restaurant I've decided to give it a chance, with an open mind I will either dine in or take out for the 2 of us.<br/>So once I do this either tonight or sometime this week I will document the pictures and food Quality/experience. I hope they knock it out of the park as I hate eating bad food , but if they don't I will def not spare any thoughts or details.<br/><br/>This is a clean slate for them, I've never eaten there and I do know my Greek food. <br/><br/>To be Updated:<br/><br/>UPDATE:<br/><br/>So as I mentioned, I walked in with an open mind, the waitress was older, but was in no way rude, she didn't do any backflips and sing us a song either but very acceptable serving etiquette.<br/>She was prompt to take our drink order and appy order, the Calamari was fresh and batter done well so I can't complain at all, good portion, decent price.<br/>Ordered our meals and she got the orders right, I did find that my pork souvlaki was a bit undercooked on bottom 2 cubes but forgivable given the overall performance ...<br/><br/>I noticed in an earlier review that someone described them as "pricey" and I must say I didn't find that at all to be true! It was decently priced for a decent portion, sure they could give a bit more tzatziki but I have yet to visit a Greek restaurant that I didn't have to ask for more so that's neither here nor there! <br/><br/>I would definitely go again And I'll gladly review each time, there was some room for improvements but overall I was satisfied with my meal and service! <br/><br/>I read all the reviews before going and was unsure, but definitely give it a chance, I'm glad I did.<br/><br/>Thanks for Reading!!<br/>Happy Eating!!

First of all, we always eat at Kisamos. Loved it but tonight we were very disappointed. Today is my daughter's birthday and she requested Greek so I called to ask how much the Calamari Platter was and when she told me the price I asked her to please hold on because I was gonna ask my husband how many of this we will order. She cut me off before even asking my husband and said , "I am extremely busy!!!"in a cranky tone. Very disappointing ! When you are in a Customer Service Industry, no matter how busy you get, you have to deliver the same as if you were not. After all, we are customers too.

The food is really good. It's pricey but the portions are hearty, so no complaints there. I've been here many times, and the service is usually superb. But when I went there a few hours ago, I left knowing that I won't be coming back.<br/><br/>There was one particular server that had attitude. There was one server, a young woman, who was kind and attentive, but she wasn't our server. The server assigned to our table was an older woman, who had a condescending tone. I asked for the bill to be split amongst myself and 2 other people, but she kept insisting that she couldn't do it. She said that I had not asked for separate bills initially, so she could not do it. <br/><br/>Apparently, it is very difficult to plug in 3 different amounts on a debit card machine, at 3 different times. <br/><br/>If she had explained in a nice tone, I probably wouldn't have minded. But she sounded really condescending and annoyed, as if I asked for something outside her job description. The experience wasn't enjoyable, and I wouldn't go back even if the food is delicious.

Went to gary point park for a walk and decided to have dinner around the area. Ny husband said theres a Greek restaurant that's very good so we were walking around looking for it and found it!! We ordered caramari, greek style ribs and moussaka. We ate all the caramari but couldn't finish our entree. It's quite big portion. Very tasty. I would recommend people to come here. The service is good too

I find that with Greek places, it can be tricky to find one that balances price, quality, and portion size nicely. If one were to lean too heavy towards portion sizes, you have a Stepho’s situation. Lean too much towards price, than you have a Neighbor’s situation. That said, Kisamos does a REALLY good job not only for their service, great pricing, and overall quality of their food!
Maurice Harting
Kisamos used to be very, very good. The food was properly cooked and served and the price was very reasonable in the past.<br/>We visited Kisamos today (November 17, 2015) for lunch and first the pineapple juice that was served had gone bad and had foam on top. <br/>Next was two souvlaki's we ordered and the order was wrong and took a long time to be served. The potatoes were burned on one side and dry, the lamb and chicken were overcooked as well. The lunch prices have also gone up substantially.<br/>The tiled floor is very greasy and slippery and needs to be cleaned and de-greased properly.<br/>Kisamos has gone downhill fast and we will not come back here. The new owner/ chefs are not as good as the previous owner/ chefs<br/>Very, very disappointing.

Great authentic greek food, huge portions for a very good price. Service can be a little slow during rush hour but it's so worth the wait. The meat platter is fantastic and my favourite. Easily can share it between 4 people
Mytmouse
Probably the best Greek restaurant in Richmond, portions are a good size. Would recommend making reservations because it's always quite busy here for dinner.

After this visit, it is proven that I should not stray from what I know. Not to say the order dishes were bad, they just weren’t as great. I will just have to stick with my succulent lamb and potatoes from now on, and for those that I first introduce to this restaurant to do the same as well.

This is a surprisingly great little restaurant that is always packed with the locals, and frequently has a lineup out the door. Originally started by 3 sisters, the new owners have carried with their the traditional Greek recipes. Have been going there for over 10 years, both for dine in and take out and never been disappointed.  The service is always friendly but sometimes not that efficient -- which is fine for its type of venue. The front windows are opened in the summer which is refreshing. The restaurant is on the main street of "Storybrooke" in the TV series "Once Upon A Time" so theres sometimes a lot of film action going on as well. All in all, close to the waterfront in the heart of Steveston, near the park and historical centre, great food, and nice casual dining. Would definitely recommend.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Good thing we made a reservation because the place was packed! It's small cozy restaurant but don't let the humble appearances fool you- the portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious and very flavourful! My moussaka was divine and the salad, potatoes and rice earned their spots right up there with it. The roast lamb was not the most tender I've ever had but was certainly tasty and generous in size. Highly recommend and will definitely go back!

Going home to cook some tasty food.. On an up side, the Ouzo candy was great! Service and food were poor. They forgot our order. Chicken was not cooked fully. Greek salad had no vinegar. Hummus and tzeziki were not very good. Overall, the food was not very tasty. Will go home and cook.
Colleenrpowell
Used to Be Excellent, Now it's Not So Great. This used to be my favourite restaurant, but it's gone really downhill. It seems that they use old oil and overcook the meat and calamari. I've given this place so many chances and it keeps failing. It's a shame because it used to be so good! What happened?
Jodi Jackman
Spanakopita and Hummus..the Best. Simply the best I have ever had. All the food here is delicious
Argon
Ok food, bad service. The good: the food quality is above average, and the portions are generous.<br/><br/>The bad: the staff make you feel like they're doing you a favour by waiting on you. I've been to Kisamos maybe three or four times in the past year, and I can't remember a single 'hello', 'you're welcome', or 'have a nice day.' It's not that I want or expect overly cheery (i.e. fake) service, but I don't want to feel like I'm eating in a Russian gulag either.<br/><br/>The verdict: until the staff learn how to smile, or until another irresistible urge for calamari hits and I happen to be in Steveston, I won't be going back anytime soon.

Service Was Terrible. We made a reservation for 5:45, showed up early and at 6:00, no one even acknowledged we were there. Had to go up to the kitchen and ask for service. It wasn't even that busy.<br/><br/>Food was good. Portions unnecessarilly too large. Lot's of waste on every table.<br/><br/>My girlfriend walked out in frustration in an earlier attempt to be served.<br/><br/>Need to get it together on the service side.
The Big Guy
The food and staff was ok but the orders did NOT come at the same time.
Bethany Ho, Bites Of Vancouver
Great greek food! The calamari was tender and nicely battered, the souvlaki was also tender and tasty. Loved it! It was very busy so I took it to go and ate it at the nearby grass area!

Okay...Meh.... The food was average and the service was not so good. I've been coming here for years and it seems they've changed ownership and have started cutting corners. Bring back the old Kisamo's with yummy Greek food and friendly service!
Haruka T
Food was delicious, but service was lacking.
Traveljunkey
The food is good, but the service sucks. The older lady who srves should reconsider her career choices because she's not cut out to work in the service industry
Ed.jon1
Good service. Went out last with my family for dinner at Kisamos. We were 8 and a baby, The food was great but the service was even better. I cannot remember the servers name, but it was very unique name she had, just like she was. We sat at the booth as you walk into the restaurant. We had roast lambs for dinner, it was so nice and tender, we will be back soon....
Matt
Just went there the other day. Good Greek food for the price. The service is horrible though. The older waitress that works there is rude and never checked on us. Me and my buddy are pretty chilled...but when you have to chase after a waitress for water refill and bread, it's silly. If I go back it will be take out.
Tracy_cares143
Not what it used to be. This place used to be good, not anymore, won't be recommending it to others. On top of the raised prices, the service has declined. We had a server who didn't smile once...not once!! She was unfriendly, rushed, and did not engage with us what so ever. It was an unfulfilling dining experience. The only time she was around longer than a second was when we were paying. After that, we wanted to order one more item as take-out but as this server never returned to our table to see how we were doing, was too busy counting money at the back of the restaurant, we decided to just leave. I would hope that the other servers are kinder than ours; the younger servers looked cheerful enough, I wish we had been helped by them instead. A food establishment is nothing without a friendly and inviting atmosphere.

Mother's Day disappointment. Got there at 5:30. Had a reservation, and they squeezed us against the wall, so that plants pressed on my husband's head. I have more room on a Transat flight! I asked if we could move to a booth against the west wall, but was told it was being saved as it seated 4, and we were four. It was then given to three people. The noise was deafening as it was so busy.<br/><br/>Our order was taken in a timely fashion, and drinks and a small basket of pita triangles appeared fairly soon. But then we waited an hour. After telling them we were willing to take whatever part of our two dish order was ready, a platter was served. W were so desperate that we did not notice that the Greek salad did not appear. While we were offered desserts on the house, it did not make up for the cramped condition, the food delay and refusal to seat us in a more spacious spot. <br/>Next time- Felico's. Worth the extra time to get there.
Xaivaii
Still good - but not AS GOOD. I understand the prices have to go up but the portions are what really kept regulars going back, the portion size now is a huge deterrent from what it used to be.
Helen Young
Used to be my favorite. But since it was sold over a year ago the prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. So disappointing....not as good quality as it used to be
Michael Quincy
Have been going here for such a long time... Always great food, even though the prices have gone up a bit it is definitely worth eating here.
Marywang143
Always Great. Been to Kisamos about a dozen times in the last few years. Prices are quite reasonable and food is always consistent. Compared to the other Greek establishments in Richmond this one takes first place. If you make it in give the lamb a try. Excellent.
Michaellopez
What happened. Went here recently, was amazed how the portion sized changed. Even better surprise was waiting, the bill. Raised prices of the meal, I have ordered time and time again. The search is on for a great rack of lamb.

Amazing HUGE lamb!

Horrible experience. When we were at the door my husband was holding an ice cream. The waitress just gave us this ugly frawn. I understand it's restaurant policy that no food from outside is allowed, but she could at least treat people with a little respect. Aside from that, we waited for 40 min for our food. Later when we ask the seem-to-be-owner man if we can get our food sooner as we were in a rush, he said we didn't tell them earlier so they served the big group first. We waited for a bit longer and we saw dish coming for other tables again who arrived much later than us so we decided to leave. Not recommended due to bad service.

Rescued from Hunger. Following a deplorable experience at another restaurant down the street, where my friend & I ended up walking out after an hour of waiting without so much as a nibble, Kisamos rescued our bellowing stomachs with a truly delicious meal.<br/><br/>We were uncertain whether they'd be able to accomodate us at such a late hour (9:30 p.m.), but we were graciously welcomed in. Our server was very professional and we could tell that she loves her job. Her service of our nice bottle of wine (that was very fairly priced) was correct as well which is nice to see as it is a rare occurrence these days, even at some higher end restaurants.<br/><br/>We had not been to Kisamos for a number of years and it was nice to taste that the food was still as delicious as before. Sure the place could use a good deep cleaning and some decor items done away with (dried flowers covered in an inch of dust) & a nicer sign to indicate "Please wait to be seated" (not one scrawled on a piece of paper & taped up), but our food was good and the service was excellent. <br/><br/>Next time we go to Steveston for dinner, we will go straight for Kisamos.
Brandee
Best Greek food in town. Big portions. Service can be sketchy. We prefer to do take out as we have had too many bad experiences dining in. That being said, it is still a staple in our house.
Mary Kehler
I Love Kisamos. Alway the BEST GREEK FOOD in the lower mainland. I won't ever go anywhere else.
Lisa Convery
Worst food ever!. I just went there for dinner after going to Oympia Pizza in Kitsalano (OLYMPIA WAS AMAZING)and Kisamos was a huge disappointment. The taziki sauce was not very good, the chicken souvlaki had no taste nor any hint of the usual great mustard marinade just a lingering greasy taste. Felt horrible by the time I came home. would never step foot back
Kiaeh5227
Nice dinner. I had lamb souvlakia, and kalamari. Both of them were great.<br/>I've been only stepho's for greek before. I think this restaurant is better than stepho's.
Urban Jungle
Just a run-of-the mill Greek place. Tzidziki wasn't great, the potatoes were overdone and it's a little overpriced for the quality. The dessert was OK and reasonably priced.
AuntieHippo
Food and service is good as always. The lunch and dinner menu are the same. Much more quiet during lunch time <br/>Roast lamb is great today and juicy.
HillyBilly
Good value - quality and quantity. We usually order the Kisamos house platter as takeout and sometimes order two if we have company. We just had the k. platter last weekend and it was great. Love the mousaka and calamari, lamb was a little chewy but still good. the first time I have ever heard my wife say she liked the dolmaldes. lots of rice and potatoes, nice little meat patties and it was fresh! we had stopped ordering here for awhile because it seemed like everything was premade then reheated (leftovers)- potatoes looked wrinkly like they were reheated in the microwave, chewy kebobs, etc... We will be eating again here to see if they are consistent again with good fresh food. Good greek salad too. enough left overs for another meal serving 3.
FoodyFran
Drove from Kits to Steveston to try this place based on the reviews and was NOT disappointed! The server made me feel like I was at my best Greek friend's house being served by mom. Me and my friend got the platter for 2 which we were barely able to dent but made for amazing leftovers for the next few days, so well worth the $40. I couldn't make up my mind about what to eat and the platter fulfilled all my wants! Calamari wasn't too greasy, meat perfectly cooked, and probably the best moussaka I have ever tasted! Creamy and flavorful! Overall, totally impressed and would go back in a second
AlisonY
Great Greek!. Okay I may have been spoiled by Five Columns in Bellingham, but of all the greek places in the lower mainland this has to be my favourite. Honestly - it puts all the others to shame. The huge portions may be a bit much (they really should halve the size of what they give you) but the quality is top notch, and the tastes are amazing. Service was great every time we've been. Will for sure go again!
Pepchoo
SOLID Greek. Solid Greek joint in Richmond. And we should know - the wife is Greek. We shared Calamari appetizer N Roast Lamb dinner (don't need the xtra potato or rice). Both were "spot-ON"<br/><br/>Definitely the BEST Greek choice in Rmd - however restaurant is small and busy
Almond23
Disappointing Service. The food is excellent. BUT when my husband and I went for dinner, the hostess did not give us the table that we requested. What made us upset was the fact that the restaurant was empty! And one of the tables that we would like remain empty for the entire time. <br/>The waitress did not gave us bread until the food arrived, when they actually serve it meanwhile you are waiting for your order. And to top it off the credit card machine was not accepting debit cards. In a nut shell: WE ARE NEVER COMING BACK.
Unagi
Surprised when i first ate here. really good rice. I've eaten here 2x every time I visit Vancouver. Last year I had the meat dish with orzo ( i believe it was beef) it was really good. i was surprised. the tomato sauce was not too tomatoey and the orzo was done well. I went for the 2nd time. I had the halibut. it wasn't as great, but the rice and salad that came with the dish was superb. Way better than Stephos ( still don't get what is the big deal with that place.) Kisamos' calamari is crunchier and not dry unlike Stephos
Maurice Harting
This restaurant is Greek to the core!. If you want to enjoy great Greek food after or before you spend time at the Steveston dock/ marina Kisamos is the place!<br/><br/>Their souvlaki is fantastic, and I mean fantastic and their pricing very reasonable ... you must give Kisamos a try
Gerald William
A good deal. Basic Greek food, great portions, served well and attentively.<br/>Great value and because of it always busy. The roast lamb is my usual and it never lets me down.
GOURMET
Nice. I like the place food was good and fair price .

Roast lamb dinner. This massive hunk of Glory Glory Hallelujah is one of the biggest, most tender, succulent, tasty bit of that fuzzy little animal you will ever taste. Kisamo's is one of my favourite restaurants because of this made-in-heaven dishes. *Note to readers, I am not religious in anyway, but if there was a God, Kisamo's Roast Lamb Dinner was definitely made in Heaven and for human consumption.
No Dessert Im Full
Decent spot in Steveston. Not bad greek joint, place is small and was competely packed. 2.75 glasses of beer!? quantity was generous, but in the end quality and taste was no different from any other greek place ive eaten at
Food For Thought
The ROAST LAMB!. So unbelievably tender! I have paid $36 dollars or more for Roast Lamb that comes no where near Kisamos' (at a fraction). OMG.
HarWOOD
Mmmm...try the roast lamb. Or keftethes. Best greek in Steveston, if not Richmond.
Cobber
Good food at a very reasonable price. The service is excellent. The food is quite good and the cost is more than reasonable. It's not fancy..........but it's quite comfortable. <br/>A good indication.....probably as much goes out the door on pick-up orders as is served in the restaurant!
Nosyt
Food is good but not great it is very small and cold good in the summer
Maddy
It made my family sick for 6 days I would not have eaten there if I new it had not passed it's Heath test

Intimate atmosphere, good food, very good prices. Definitely will go back.

Good food...bad service.. We (six of us) visited this restaurant last Sunday. We made reservations for 5 30 and arrived on time. The waitress gave us our choice of seats and we decided on a booth. When she came back to give us our water she informed us that "You guys gotta be out of here by 6 pm."<br/><br/>When it came to order, my husband ordered for his Mom and the waitress said "What she can't do that for herself?". Upon seeing that other tables had received pita bread, I asked if we would be getting any...she said sure, but it never arrived. <br/><br/>Food arrived around 6 pm, and she never bothered to clean up the plates from our appetizers. We never received water refills, either. <br/><br/>The food was pretty good, but the crabby waitress ruined the experience for us.

Leave a reply 3420 Moncton St, Richmond, BC  Food Rating: 9/10 My usual greek food go-to is Stepho’s because I always know I’m going to enjoy my meal. I live in East Van though, so sometimes getting to Stepho’s feels like a bit of a trek- having to fight the downtown traffic, pedestrians and finding parking often deters me from going. Steveston is probably further in distance for me to travel, but I’ll keep this place in mind if I’m craving Greek food and if I’m going to be in Richmond. I ordered the Lamb Souvlaki, but had a piece of my friend’s Kalamari. It was surprisingly tender and tasty! It’s a pretty nice place. Just cause it is near the wharf, the area is really nice to visit. Not like every restaurant trying to sell that they are authentic, the moment you walk in, you will know that it is authentic. It’s like a small little Greek village in the restaurant.

The seafood platter included Greek salad (not pictured), rice & baked potatoes, and assorted seafood. I thoroughly enjoyed all the food and it tasted right unlike the last Greek food experience I had where everything was too salty! I liked the shrimp the best because they were large and juicy.

I haven't been back to Kisamos for quite some time now so when my mom decided on Greek food the other day, the first thing that came to my mind was to go to Kisamos. Located at 3420 Moncton st, Kisamos Greek Taverna is a restaurant that serves authentic Greek food right at the heart of Steveston. We were fortunate enough that the weather was super nice that day so walking around Steveston was a nice way to spend the day with the family. However, our recent visit there was quite a disappointment for me service and cleanliness wise. Why? Because when we arrived, there was only one server that was doing all the work in the restaurant. People were starting to come in and accumulate quite a bit at the door area but the server couldn't escort them to a table because she was busy serving hot food to other customers or taking other people's order. The server herself was actually not bad and even with load of stuff to do her attitude was still very positive, but since she was all by herself, sh

I suggested for him to try the roast lamb platter . And it did not disappoint. A huge portion of lamb, very tender and very well spiced. It came with a potato, greek salad and rice.
Peter
It used to be Stepho's, on Davie Street in Downtown Vancouver. The two hour line up in the pouring rain was always worth it, but no more. Kisamo's Greek Taverna is right here in my hometown of Richmond and they have the best calamari, and the best roast l

The last restaurant Kid visited while she was in Vancouver was Kisamos Greek Taverna in Steveston, Richmond. We were there for an early lunch, which allowed us to finish early, stroll around in Steveston, and finally stop by YVR for her to catch her flight back to California. We ordered a couple appetizers to share, Spanakopita and Melitzanosalata . The Spanakopita was a really good. Normally, the spanakopitas would be really oily from the flaky pastry wrap, but to my surprise, it wasn't oily at all. The pastry wrap was thin and there were a lot of filling. Emily, Marian, Lorna and I met up for lunch and get together in early October. We met up at Kisamos Greek Taverna at noon. Free 2 hours street parking available. The restaurant was not too busy yet when we arrived. We waited quite a while for Emily as she had to sent her daughter for a job interview. We ordered the Kisamos Platter for 2 to share among the three of us first since Emily was late. The Kisamos Platter for 2 is $40.95. First came the Greek Salad of onions, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, pickled chili and feta cheese. Next came the pita bread. The server did not bring the homous to go with the bread. When we asked for it, the server told us that the dip will come with the platter. We asked for the homous to be served first so that we can have  it the bread. The server brought out the homous and tzatziki dips for us. Next came the rice and oven roasted potatoes. Emily arrived just in time when the platter was served. Judging from the amount of food on the table, we did not order
