Ruelo Patisserie is a small dessert and cafe spot in Times Square on Leslie and Highway 7. They serve a wide variety of cakes, teas, drinks, and the like. It's rather small with only a few tables, but the place is real clean and has a nice decor and interior.

We just came from dinner but the girlfriend loves her post-dinner cakes, so we stopped in to grab a slice. I ordered the Pina Colada, while Anna got a slice of Hazelnut cake. The Pina colada was a slice of cake that was coated in coconut flakes and stuffed with tiny pineapple chunks and a wafer. It was very good, but the inside was a tad too sweet. The hazelnut cake was the best as it was moist and the crust at the bottom was perfect.

The place itself is located within that inner area so be sure to make your way in for the parking and such. The lady behind the counter was nice and the service quick. You can also preorder larger cakes for pickup. Definitely a place worth checking out.

Pastry is quite outstanding. Small venue. Seats not very comfy for afternoon tea, tea selection was okay. But overall quite good value if you purchase the tea from groupon. Will also recommend other pastries not from the tea set. Macaron was okay with very intense food colouring, not much focusing on flavour.

Most delicious cake. I bought the Ruelo cake for my boyfriend's birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. There were so many layers within the cake. The chocolate mousse and creme brulee gives the cake a creamy filling just right to contrast the crunchy centre. I'm always scared of purchasing cakes that might end up being too sweet, but this was just perfect! NEXT STEP: will try the macrons!

Macarons were perfection. Dropped by this place to pick up some Macarons for a friend's birthday. I work at yonge/eg area so I used to go to the La Bamboche but they closed. I'm glad I googled this place because it's going to be go-to patisserie in midtown! Their macarons were one of the best I've tasted in the city - very fresh and many different flavours.

The Macarons size was good - not to small and not too big. I especially loved their green tea macaron. I've never had that flavour before!

They also offer espresso drinks, tea and freshly baked bread and pastries. I can't wait to try their daily sandwiches next time I go! I suggest this place to macarons lovers in the city!

Overall I had a pleasant experience at Ruelo. It was a fun afternoon out with my friends and I would probably go again. I would like to try one of the many pretty cakes that they have there the next time that I go.

...I first discovered Ruelo last year, right after their grand opening. We had read on Chowhound that the pastry chef trained in France, with the diploma and certificates hanging proudly on the wall as evidence. Since then, I've been back to this place too many times to count. But now I'm resisting the urge for sweets :( I don't like their results on my body... They serve a variety of mousse cakes and cheesecakes in individual sizes for one person as well as a bigger versions for celebratory occasions. The Chinese pastry chef earned her pastry degree at the prestigious Cordon Bleu in Ottawa I believe (how I wish I can be her...). She uses fresh ingredients and expensive chocolate (I forgot the name of it -_-), and creates her own style by fusing different combinations together. Most speciall

It was warm when it arrived and the butter just melted effortlessly into the biscuit.
