Review Hanna's Shawarma - Richmond Hill

The food here is fresh and delicious. The only problem is they charge you way more than the price that is shown on the menu. I wonder why.

My wife and I had dinner at Hanna's last night and it was a terrible experience.After walking through the door, staff walking by and for roughly 15 minutes and being the only customers waiting at the door to be seated none of the staff even asked to getting us seated. We thought to pick one of few available tables to seat ourselves before we managed to get one of the staff's attention to get us a table. After ordering our appetizers, main course and drinks, we get one of our two salads and she forgot about the other. Our Shrimps, soup came all apart and "Half way through our dinner" we are asked if we would want a Laffa and pickles? Yes, I replied to her, we do but it would been a lot better with our soup and before the dinner was served. The worst part of our dinner was that I clearly asked if the RainBow Trout was the whole fish and she responded yes, it was. After ordering the Rainbow, I received two small pieces of small cuts from the fish with an absolutely treble smell of the fish skin, and no flavour. I asked our waitress about my Rainbow and she asked her manager to come to our table with some ridiculous justifications and at the end we notice that he has taken $2.60 off from the bill. I called him back to give him the $2.60 back. The Manager should pay more attention to the quality of his food and the service instead of providing these generous discounts off their bills. We won't go back and we don't recommend Hanna's.

My wife and I ended up here one night while searching for a place to eat. We decided to try this place out. My wife ordered the shrimp skewer plate and I ordered the dark chicken meat skewer plate. We both enjoyed our meals. My chicken was juicy and tasty. My wife's shrimp were cooked just right. The dips were also good and the laffa were well prepared. Overall we had a good experience and we will be back.

I have eaten here regularly for a long time but no more. I have a problem with restaurants that douse their tables with Windex as a cleaner. That's exactly what happened tonight. I asked them to clean the table we were at as it had not been cleaned from previous customers. The waitress came with a bottle of Windex and sprayed excessive amounts on the table. It's disgusting. Got up and left, never returning. Owners, try vinegar and water and lemon. More sanitary, less toxic and the table doesn't smell like a sprayed window! Note: Has since closed down.

Great food, good prices, friendly staff. I knew i had gone to the right place when my salad came with a garlic cream dressing and my server volunteered the information that raw red onion usually comes on the salad and asked if i was okay with that because some people dont like raw red onion. I'm one of those people and was very happy she asked. I had the chicken schnitzel with garlic potatoes and veggies and it was fantastic. Highly recommend you check this place out.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. Horrible place to say the least. Waiters are friendly but management are EXTREMELY RUDE to staff and to customers. Food has become way below standards. We have been regular customers of Hanna's since they originally opened many many years ago. We will never return to that despicable place. Very bad experience all around. I highly recommend going across the street to ME VA ME where they serve the same menu but a much better food quality, beautiful venue and wonderful cheerful staff...

I literally just created google account just so that I can finally rate this idiotic place. It's been long over due. I remembered when they open the very first time. Their food quality and quantity was great. Now I can't say the same. I went today to give it a try one last time and I was left with complete disappointment. The salmon fish was burned and they almost never refil the water. Lastly the waiters have major attitude and the HEAD CHEF included. I feel sick right now after eating their food. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DESERVE EVEN 1 STAR.

I came here for lunchtime by myself, and the restaurant was quite empty save for one large party. My server was pretty friendly, and offered some suggestions on what was popular (the chicken dishes). I ordered the double chicken shish with a side of garlic potatoes. Service time was ok, nothing crazy. When the food was brought out it was a little plain looking. The chicken was very standard, but the potatoes were pretty good. The sauce for the chicken was very cold, however, and was clearly taken out of the fridge. I'm not a big fan of cold sauces with warm meat on a somewhat overpriced meal, so I can't recommend this place. Me va me across the street is probably a better bang for your buck, or Mr. Greek in the same plaza (which has pretty crazy portion sizes).

My favorite place to eat! Food is delicious and healthy! The kind of food I can feed my kids with. Restaurant is clean and receiving. Nice and patient personnel too! We’ll always come back!

On Thursday we went to Hanna's Shawarma for dinner. We had been there more than two years ago and had enjoyed their fresh, middle-eastern flavours. This visit was no exception. <br/><br/>SWMBO selected the Chicken Schnitzel Dinner, which comes with one salad and one side. She chose Greek Salad and Roasted Garlic Potatoes. The schnitzel was huge! It was pounded until it was very thin, then breaded, and finally deep fried, just enough to make the beading crispy, but not enough to dry out the chicken. Nicely done. She only ate half and took the rest home. <br/><br/>I had the Falafel Sandwich Dinner, with Israeli Salad. Freshly prepared falafel balls (the best way of course), which were soft on the inside with a little bit of crispness on the outside.

I order 3 meals (which in accounted to $65) There was a mix up with my shawarma dish and  I was given two schnitizel dishes although I am sure I asked for Shawarma! Then when I kindly requested to make them Shawarma (because my boyfriend and don't like the fried meat) I was told the shawarma was done! The place is called HANNAH SHAWARMA! How can any place function when they don't even have their main dish during 6pm!!! On top of this I get the feeling this company doesn't value their customers. I was pleasant and kind and was still given horrible treatment.<br/><br/>Then I asked for two Shih Kebobs and was then told NO!! Frankly NO, although it is all the same price.Then I asked can you please change one of the meals because I spent a lot of money on food that my boyfriend will not eat. I was given doubt (he claimed I didn't know what I was ordering even though I have been there several times (and my boyfriend is Russian Jewish)..my guess is because I am Indian and not obviously from the same culture) and not to mention the attitude and then a down right refusal I was given. I had to constantly insist until then he went in the back and came out saying gave me the old dried up bits of shawarma!!!! I took it home and my boyfriend ended up starving all night eating tiny bits from my dinner! <br/><br/>I must say the food is good but their service and attitude is just bitter and disrespectful. I do not recommend anyone to go their unless they are of the same culture and go in person. These angry unwilling stuffy people are just not aware of how rude and indecent they were. WASTE OF MONEY!

Best shawarma in the city!!! I have been going there since they opened and they were a small resto. The food remains as good as ever and is my go to for a famoly meal.

Terrible service!. I been there twice,the service the first time was bad but the second time was unacceptable. Place was pretty much empty and I did not get any service at all because the staff was to busy eating behind the counter while the few customers there were waiting. The food is absolutely not worth the wait. Too many restaurants out there with much better service then this lame place.

Ordered take out, they messed up pretty bad. We ordered chicken kabob, light and dark meat, and instead they gave us BURNT beef and chicken. We ordered the falafel dinner with mixed veggies, and the falafel came with no sauce, and the veggies were flavourless. Not worth the money at all. We were extremely disappointed with all of it. I would not eat there again.

Unbelievably awful service. Every time I go there I am appalled by how customers are treated. <br/>Their food is quite good, their pita is full with meat (unlike Sofra grill, who literally put four pieces of chicken in your pita), but I was there was my father once, we got shawarma in a pita each, and the location was completely empty, There was no other customer there. He asked me if I wanted to sit down, and before I could answer a man from behind the counter told us that that is extra, they would have to charge us. Please remember that we already had our food in our hands.<br/>Another time I came in with my friend and they were completely unprofessional, we had ordered before, because I refuse to spend more time than necessary there, and first of all, our pitas weren't ready yet, and we have given them more than enough time. Then the girl on cash yells at this new girl, who clearly isn't fully trained to handle the rush yet, she kept on degrading her as she made our food, it was insane. Then when we said we want a split bill, the man on cash (they switched because I'm pretty sure the yelling girl is the manager), didn't know how to do it, so the manager showed him, and he then laughed and said that maybe he should have watched her so he could learn how to do it.<br/><br/>Btw if you falter for one second on the phone, or ask someone you are with if they want to add something, you will be yelled at and rushed to answer.

Just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. Very below average food now. Not good, not amazing at all. The shawarma is just so bland for my taste. They charge extra for hummous/babbaganoush/etc which is a turn off.<br/>Paramount and Joe's are overall better options for a shawarma!

Won't last. I suggest you try Rifca or Paramount on yonge street because there the food has taste and the service is better. Hannas has lost the plot. where is the taste??

Food Is Amazing.... Service, Not so Much. We get take out from here at least once a week as the price and value are great. Chicken shish is excellent.<br/><br/>Did dine in once and staff need some training, very slow, didn't ask how we were, waited 20min just to order and 20 to pay... very difficult when you have small children with you.

Great!. This place is really great. I got take out recently and while I was waiting for my food I had my eye on the kitchen behind the takeout station. I was so impressed with them, they were so quick and efficient and extremely clean. Everyone was wearing plastic gloves and changing to a new pair after each dish. The food was great, I had the chicken shishkabob and it was cooked perfectly. Would definitely come here again.

Faux Shawarma. After spending a couple of years in Palestinian lands I believe I now know what constitutes quality shawarma and I can say with authority that the so-called shawarma here is too wet to qualify.<br/>This is basially a sandwich place, but for good quality and quantity shawarma try Rifca on Yonge near Carville or Paramount in Thornhill.

Horrible Restaurant. Food is awfful, speccialy their stupid Shawarma.<br/>i tried them in agust 2010 and hell they are runnuing a scam rather than a restaurant.

If you've never been check it out. Enjoyable food, great portions, reasonable prices, quite friendly staff. I'll return for sure.

Hanna Shawarma. The best Indian and Meditaranian Food I've had at reasonable prices. In dining atmosphere and wine selaction could use some work.

Unbelievle food incredible ambience service is perfection portions are huge. They have the formula for success. My favorite the lamb or chicken shish kabob and as well the rainbow trout is mouthwatering
