To be honest, under my anticipation of this place because I have collected for a long time and finely to visited a few days ago. The service was excellent, and the space was nice too. But the desserts were too sweet for both of us, and the capacity of the food was big enough that no one could be finished it.

Nice interior beautiful location with plenty of space. The staff was super nice and helpful. Deserts were super tasty and beautifully presented. Must try strawberry Blush. Prices are bit on higher side but worth the price. Enjoy

Tried demetres for the first time. It was OK overall. Had a higher expectation since the place was jam packed. The items we ordered were way too sweet and the ice cream was very icy rather than being creamy. Staff were friendly and it was a good vibe in a packed restaurant. However the desserts we had were average.

Good dessert here. The store itself is not that new & it definitely needs a renovation & clean up. I didn’t like the staff behaviour that much. I believe they are short in staff. Enjoyed the quality of the desserts though

Nice place for dessert. Staff is friendly. Most dessert is good, of course, based on personal preference.

Server was great. Prompt and courteous service. Disappointed in my choice of dessert though. Got the "Brownie Points" , not realizing the coco chanel icecream was actually chocolate icecream. I think the brownie cheesecake would've been a 100 times better with vanilla ice cream instead. I'd return for the service and maybe to pick something without coco Chanel in it 🤔

Best Dessert Spot ever. A must place to go if you love desserts.

Just want to update my review since they got a new manager. Not sure why but glade I checked. They over charge your receipt. Charging extra for my brownies to be on the side????. AND charging me extra for no bananas. What is going on. Not good customer service. Yes I got my money back but what if I didn't look at my receipt. Who hasn't looked at their receipt. Goodluck everyone

BEWARE: We had terrible experience at Demetre. After waiting for 45 minutes, when got the order, there was literally piece of glass in desert. Needless to say tongue got bleed and did immediately notified staff and manager. Doesnt even deserve 1 star however given for apology. Suffering and experience cannot be expressed. Recommend checking desert before putting in mouth. Alerting everyone so that no one experience pain as us.

I had a party of eight. We had to wait more than 30 minutes coz the manager wouldn't allow the waitress to make a long table where it was available. In the end the waitress had to do it anyways. But that's not what pissed us off. Now that we were seated and looking at the menu another waitress came over and asked us if we could move to the big table that just opened up so that they could seat more people by breaking up the tables that they joined together for us. Naturally we said NO. We were comfy where we sat and was getting ready to order. Other than that, the food was great.

Just love the desserts there. Best waffles in town. A full meal so I always share with a friend. The cheese cake � is great too. Lively atmosphere. Always full of young & beautiful people. A big space so never a problem getting a table. Friends do visit & order the waffles. Tooo yummy �

Lttle pricy, but great place. The portions are huge enough to share with 2 people. 3 stars, because the ambiance could be nicer and they should have vestibule at the entrance. The entry door opens up in the main patron area,and the cold air gets in as soon as the door opens. Not very comfortable. Suggestion is to move the doors to the right side corner and add a vestibule.

Excellent desserts, crepes, waffles, cappuccinos! Very busy and loud place... bring your patience and enjoy the food, you'll love it!

The food was great, but customer service was terrible. Our waitress just decides to give our bill and nobody ask for it. Very rude!

The deserts and staff are great but can get very busy and tight in the seating area.

Service was terrible. Waited 15-20 mins to order waited almost 30mins for my order My chocolate cake came really hot like the chocolate melted and i couldnt even eat it!!! Asked for a new one and they gave me a cold one like they just sliced the cake and gave it to me!

I often go to Demetres but last night wasn't all that pleasent. Our server and food was great! My brother and sisterinlaw asked for 2 glasses of milk which took them longer to bring out than it did the actual dessert. They were half way done through their cake before the milk arrived. We also added an additional slice of red velvet cake for my son which again arrived when the rest of us were already done eating. The actual dessert on the other hand was perfect as always lol!

They need to improve & be quick on customer waiting / handling Other than that staff is good, courteous & professional �

I had heard of Demetre from my friends, this was the first time I actually visited one. The 4 of us arrived there a little late on Canada Day after fireworks. Initially, the boy at the front desk said "take out only", coz it was getting close to closing time. The place was buzzing, for God's sake!! In a few minutes, another waitress came along and found us a table. So grateful to her for such service!! ❤️ The waffle topped with ice cream was absolutely delicious. Service was prompt too, despite being close to midnight and being so busy. It was TOTALLY worth driving out there. We'll be going back for sure!

I usually have the last straw on a Belgian waffle (substituting white chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla). It was delicious as usual! My cousin and I were disappointed though to find out that the Caffé Demetre at East Beaver Creek and Highway 7 had closed down. 😐

Hi I was there with my family last night from 9:15 pm to 11pm it’s terrible cafe with rud and impolite stuffs. At the end when a wanna to pay the bills I’m waiting around 15 minutes for bills but no one care us after that I went to cashier to pay it and I told here about that but she said I don’t care and the customer have to wait and if you’re unhappy don’t come here ....... I spent around 200$ there so I put my money to garbage please learn to employees some customers service and manners no just make money. <br/>She had tattoos in her left arm if demerits manager going to learn her some customers service lol 😂 <br/>

Service was a disgrace to all dessert cafes and an embarassment to the Demetres brand.  Expected good service after visiting the Yorkdale location a few weeks ago but here my wife and I waited over 15 minutes to be even acknowledged by a staff member.  Seemed like they only had 2 staff with a 3/4 full cafe (This was a Saturday at 4pm)  When we were finally seated the server was very abrassive and wanted to rush through our order.  Had to ask her three times for water which we didn't end up drinking because there were black floaties in the cup.  The plates and cutlery were obviously not cleaned properly as they arrived with dried chocolate stains and when we asked the server for a new set, she walked behind the server station, wiped down the same forks and walked back to our table (I watched her the entire time)  My sundae came in a coffee cup with a crumbling waffle overflowing, how did they not have sundae cups in the middle of the day???  When asking the server why there was only 2 of them during a busy rush she responded that the boss was trying to cut hours.  Tells you everything you need to know about this location, a cheap and crappy owner who doesn't care about customer service/experience and only their bottom line.  Demetres Headquarters should seriously consider revoking this location's franchise license as they're giving the brand a horrible reputation. Such a disappointment.  Never returning to this Demetres location.

Extremely rude employees. The place was busy and the waiter encouraged my family and I to leave. Also, my mom asked to move to another seat since my she is claustrophobic and was being squished by other people that passed by. Yet again, another rude employee wouldn't compensate to move us to an empty LARGER table and even "lost" our order.

"A noisy date place; great if you want to yell at your date."<br/><br/>This place is always ridiculously full. It's noisy and busy. The staff is pulled in all directions, so it's hard to get any service. But even with so many people, it's clean. <br/>We ordered the moo-la-la on a crepe. It was ok. Nothing to rave home about. Coffee refills are limited to only one cup; That was annoying. <br/><br/>Good date place. But if you need a place for more serious discussions, keep looking.

I came here with some friends after a spicy meal at the Bashu Sichuan Cuisine.  Initially, I was looking to get a slice of cake with a coffee.  However, I was quite full already when we sat down at their patio.  I decided to share a crepe with a friend and a cup of coffee.  We chose The Last Straw (DRESSED TO GRILL)<br/>: Honey Madagascar Vanîlia Iced Cream • Fresh Strawberries • Strawberry Coulis. Crêpe ($12.75).  The name of their desserts are a play on movie names.  I absolutely loved the ice cream as it was decadent and the solid texture unlike its soft counterparts.  The coffee was not that strong at all, passable with cream and sugar added.  The server asked if we wanted more coffee and then never came back with the refill.  We did ended up with glasses of water for each person (small mix up).  The patio is quite nice and allowed our party to continue our night of fun.

Worst dining experience. I went with some friends and we ordered our food on what seemed like a pretty calm night. We waited for so long to get our food and our server, sana (who claimed to be the owner as well?) took forever to bring our food. When we asked why it took so long she got offended and started giving us attitude. We asked for more cutlery and she told us to stop complaining (I know right?). We finished our food and it's safe to say that we're never going back due to her behaviour.

Never go back. The menu has no picture so you don't know what is the name . Too much cream on a small pice of cake . Restaurant is very cold .every body had their winter jacket on. I order tea but they brought it in a very small pot.it was not enough .Too EXpEnSivE......

There is so many wrong things with this place. 1) it's winter and the temperature is soo cold inside the place 2) every table was full in the place, yet there are only two servers who are nice but have terrible serving experience. 3) because I had to wait at least 40 min for my food, i was watching the cook and he kept on touching his hair preparing the food without wearing gloves or washing his hands. I don't buy someone called in sick because I have been there before and it's always the same. They need to add another server and stop cheapingout.

Bad customer service. My wife and myself used to go to Demetre's locations from Burlington To Markham, we like the icecream apparantly but this location was a disappointment to say the least, even worse than the oakville location, the other day we went to this location we placed our order and for some reason had to ask for water (big mistake), as I was thirsty and drank some water before I realised that the water had a bad smell and taste definetly didn't take another sip, our order came in was ok except for some parts of crunchy ice in the icecream (the way it happens when icecream melts and refrozen again), we went to pay and the server who was also the general manager asked us if everything was ok, I mentioned to him what was wrong with the water and his reply was what I was telling him is so strange it is tap water and shouldn't have any smell or taste and I was the first to complain about the water, I also told him about the icecream his response was automaticly it is so strange I am the first to mention that. why bother to ask if you don't want to listen? definetly not going back to that location.

Took 10 minutes to take the order, coffees showed up 1/2 hour later and the food still wasn't there when we left after 40 minutes! Terrible service.

One Of The Few late-Night Establishments In Richmond Hill. E: Despite the way the chain's name is spelt Caffe Demetre does neither have an Italian bias nor Italian food. In any case, the menu is largely comprised of ice creams, beverages, crepes, waffles and cakes. The desserts and sweets look and taste horrendously over-caloried, but it comes with the territory one supposes. They pride themselves on their ice cream, which they misleadingly call home-made. After all, anything made in a store of a Toronto-wide chain by the barrel load is not 'home-made.'<br/>What is worse however is the way they try to upsell one - "would you like ice cream in your hot chocolates?" - into something with a higher calorie content. I wish the hot chocolate were a little more chocolaty, less watery and less sweet.<br/>Nonetheless, Caffe Demetre's menu is large and broad enough to include something (sweet) for everyone.<br/>My favourite? Apple cider warm or cold.<br/>My advice: order one dessert item for two people. It is enough. <br/>Prices are not cheap, but they have cornered the market so they can do whatever they like.<br/>-<br/>A: Caffe Demetre is noisy and boisterous. I have never been to one, whether this location, Richmond Hill off East Beaver Creek or Mississauga and found it slow or half-empty. Likewise, this location is always full. What else would one expect? There is barely a place open in town after 9 PM. It is either Caffe Demetre past 10 PM or Tim Horton's and Country Style.<br/>Regardless, Caffe Demtre has a tacky and funky design. It is large and fast-paced. Do not expect a quiet atmosphere. It is packed with customers and the tables are set close to one another.<br/>-<br/>T: They seat you quickly and give you the menu right away. Once one places an order it is liable to arrive early.<br/>The servers become scarce and are difficult to find thereafter. <br/>-<br/>S: The servers are friendly and young. They are willing to stay and explain the menu or jot down modifications or personalizing requests. Having said that, it is a packed cafe (er, caffe!?) so do not expect quality checks or whatever.<br/>Caffe Demetre is a welcome concept given the dearth of places to go past Richmond Hill's bedtime of 8:30 PM. Still, they are typically open no later 11:30 (or 1:30 on weekends) so let us be thankful for small graces otherwise it would be the donut shop and no one wants that!

Poor Service. We visited Demetres with our family. One of our children has gluten food allergy and we are very careful about it when we go out which is not usually.<br/><br/>I asked about ingridients and the waiter could not answer all the questions. We could not order anything for her to be safe acccept fruit. The supervisor could not be exact about the ingridients because they were not available.<br/><br/>I called the 800 number for head office and they told me to speak to the store. Useless.

Good dessert n drinks but too over price. Service is always way too slow n it's too hard to get your server attention

Very very busy and noisy beyond carrying a normal conversation!! Lots of teens and loud people. Food / deserts are so so or hit / miss. Service was okay. Pricey

Busy busy busy. Good thing. Desserts are fresh. Coffee is good. Company amazing. Didn't want tosit by the bathroom door. Front and centre with rest of the crew. Diverse crowd. Wait staff excellent. Service impeccable. Tables are a little too close together. Excellent experience overall. Would come again.
