My Dolsot Bibimbap arrived with a clear soup with green onions in it as well as a bottle of spicy paste for me to add to the hot stone bowl as needed. I mixed all the ingredients (assorted vegetables like carrots, mushrooms, spinach and fried egg) together and the purple rice that came with it (usually white rice is served in a bimbimbap). The bibimbap was good.
Came here on a Saturday around 1:15 and every restaurant in that mall had long lines. The wait took probably 20 minutes just to be seated. The restaurant seemed a little disorganized since only two servers were working during that time.
I quickly surveyed the tables to see what most people had ordered and the pork bone soup was definitely a popular choice. I decided to see if it was really worth the hype myself.
The banchan they served was a nice variety of dishes that you would see at most restaurants but what caught my attention was the acorn jelly. The jelly's flavour was definitely very subtle so the sauce was a nice compliment.
Finally the wait was over and my soup had arrived, I was definitely not expecting it to come in such a large bowl. For $9.99 you definitely get your bang for your buck. The broth was a little on the spicy side but nothing a glass of water won't relieve. This dish also came with a side of purple rice which was a nice bonus since I prefer this over white rice.
I'd definitely come back again but probably before or after the lunch rush.
