Amazing italian restaurant..the place the portions of foods its quality is so great in a very reasonable prize๐๐๐๐ i love their yummy pasta and pizza they were the best..highly reccomended ๐
We were looking at Italian restaurant near Aurora community centre and most of them were closing at 3.00 pm. This one place in Richmond Hill was open from 11:00 to 10:00 pm. Clean ambience and good family crowd... Service was very quick with good vegetarian options. We tried Giardino pizza which was 12 inch and good enough for two. Focaccia Sorpresa was good too but we ended up ordering both the dishes with same toppings. We were served with Chili oil on the side which made the Pizza experience much better.. We had taken our American guests for lunch and everyone liked it..
For this awesome lunch food adventure, only one of my work colleagues could come out. After some Toronto food blog reading, some people suggested Nonna's Oven up in Richmond Hill area. I didn't investigate more but the Google reviews were 4.5/5 stars. We decided to venture here even though it was slightly far from work but manageable due to the location near Highway 404.
We really enjoyed the food here. The portions were great for the price. It seems as though every Italian restaurant wants to charge top dollar for a bowl of pasta. This place is still reasonably priced. I had the linguini carbonara and my sister had vodka penne. Both were delicious. The linguini swimming in oil is my only complaint about the food. The service was great until the end of our meal when we had to ask 3 different people, who individually came around to ask how we're doing, to refill our water glasses.

This restaurant is much nicer inside than what it looks like from the outside. The food is ok. It's a homily dining place and I prefer more refined food. I could see how it would be great for lunch. The service was good and friendly and prices are low. Nice neighbourhood place to go to with the kids.
If you're starving and craving some carb-y grub to fill that deep, empty pit that is your stomach, this is the place for you. Their pizzas and pastas are mega filling; you won't be leaving without a warm belly! The eatery is divided into dine-in and take-out. The crust on their pizzas is a little thicker and drier than I'd prefer, but they are baked in stone ovens and you still get that tough chew. Don't forget to ask about their daily desserts to finish off your comfort meal.
Great eats, Nonnas Oven is definitely a restaurant to visit on a empty stomach, Service is a little slow but the food is delicious. Portion size is very generous. Recommend everyone to try
Came here with fellow foodies on a Friday night. The restaurant was really busy and we had to wait for 30 mins to get seated. They do not take reservations on Friday night.ย
After we got seated they were very prompt in giving us the menus and getting our drinks. We ordered our food and we surely didn't notice how long it took even though there were 6 of us. We ordered the Antipasto to begin. They had a lot of grilled vegetables in the antipasto. There were tomato slices topped with mozzarella, salami and sliced soppressata. Everything tasted good and the antipasto was big enough to be shared by 4 people.
For the mains I had the fantasia pizza which was made with foccaccia topped with proscuitto crudo in a bed of arugula and parmesan shavings. The pizza was light since all the toppings were very fresh but still flavourful. The spicy oil gave a nice kick to the dish. I also tasted a slice of the firenze pizza which had potato slices, rosemary and black olives. The olives were a bit too salty but otherwise the pizza was delicious.ย
The service was quite good and they topped up our water quite often. Pizza does make me quite thirsty. Overall I really liked the food, ambience and service and I will likely be back soon to try their huge rice balls.
Amazing food! The sauce is a bit on the salty side. The wait was 30 minutes on a Saturday but it was worth it! The portions are huge! We had the pizza and gnocchi. Excellent service!!
Nonna's Oven might be one of the better place if you want family style Italian food. The menu specializes in salad, pasta, pizza and sandwich.
There are quite a selection of pizza all made fresh when order and great for sharing.ย
We came on a Sunday evening and the place was quite busy. We were seated right away without the need to wait for a table.
American Pizza, Tomato Salad and Penne with Arriabiatta were all enjoyable. The Lava Cake with Ice Cream was not as good as I expected and the cake was overcooked and dry outside but chocolate filling has not melted.
Service was so so. Maybe more waitstaff needed on a busy night?
THE BEST LASAGNA EVER. I've been eating at Nonna's Oven for over 3 years and would highly recommend it. They food is extremely delicious, especially their lasagna. I have ordered many large trays of lasagna for many of my family functions and have never been disappointed. It's filled with meat and lots of mozzarella. You definitely get more than what you pay for. I would suggest trying this restaurant if you are looking for a homemade italian meal and definitely use them to cater your next event....make sure that you definitely order the lasagna you won't be disappointed. Yum yum!!!
First time...not the last!. Best calamari I ever had. Cooked perfectly! Loved the two different side sauces with it. Ordered three different pizzas (calbrese, American, and meat lovers). Plenty of toppings, wonderfully fresh, done to perfection. Also ordered pasta with alfredo....fantastic alfredo sauce! Best pizza I have ever had!!!! Staff were friendly and attentive; not over bearing. Food came out quickly and restaurant was 3/4 full. Can't wait for the next time!
This is THE BEST Italian food I've ever had- other than actually being in Italy. The food and service is phenomenal!
2nd time ordering take-out at Nonna's! Loved the Giardino pizza, Genovese Pizza and Pasta alla Vodka!!! This is now one of our new fave restaurants!!!!
Excellent!. I'd recommend this to anyone, it's a fantastic place to take the family!
Awesome Pizza. Went in for lunch and had an amazing experience! The service is excellent, the people working there were pleasant and very helpful considering it was my first time ordering. The food did not take long to make, and once I tried it I was sold! This place is great, my pizza was made perfectly and I have been back several times. I would gladly refer family, friends and strangers to go there!
Excellent. This was a treat like eating at home. had the pizza and veal and pasta several times and always good. Keep it up !!!
Great thin crust pizza for Rich Hill. Love that they make there own stuff in house.
I just ate here yesterday with my family. We ordered soup of the day, which is butternut squash, absolutely delicious. Spaghetti with meat sauce and meat lovers pizza. The spaghetti was great but the pizza is too salty for my taste. The store gave us free ice cream sample as dessert.
Eggplant Parm Out of This World!. I was already a fan of the Veal Parm Sandwich but tried the eggplant one day and I'm hooked! My husband loves the pulled pork on a bun and sausage and rapini....Plus the owners are really great!!
Best new restaurant in Richmond Hill. I've been eating at this new restaurant called Nonna's Oven and each visit has brought me more and more culinary pleasure. The other day I had their pulled pork sandwich and it was out of this world. So i was intrigued and came back for more, that time I tried their sopressa (foccacia sandwich) which was literally the best thing I've eaten in a while, up until I ordered their panzo's. Their pazno's are amazing, their big and the sauce is so tasty. Hats off to Nonna's Oven, I think I will be a regular for life.
Best Casual Italian in the Area. The pizza is just how it should be - thin crust, great flavour and fresh ingredients. If you live in the area, it's your best bet for authentic italian food.
Salads and soups are also fresh and delicious. Friendly staff and clean and modern setting!
Nonna's Oven in Richmond Hill is awesome... Just ate the calabrese pizza and it totally rocks!
Great Food. We ate at Nonna's for the first time, we loved it. There was eight of us including two children. They were so friendly and very accomodating to my family. We tried their pizza, their rice balls and the panzarotte and also the veal sandwiches, everything was amazing. We are italian, and I must say, it tasted like homemade, we will definitally go back. It was great and the price was excellent too.
Great Food and Friendly Service. Tried Nonna's Oven for the first time and I was very pleased with the friendly service. The staff suggested I try their Pulled Pork Sandwich - not a bad suggestion at all! It was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning very soon. I strongly suggest you try Nonna's Oven.
