Review Fresh Burger - Richmond Hill

James C
Great burgers here. As the store name implies everything here is made fresh. Their mushroom melt burger had a thick juicy patty. Fries are crispy and lightly seasoned which is perfect. I came back on a second occasion for the prime burger and the meat wasn't as thick/juicy as the mushrooms melt but was still good. Update: had the angus and regular fresh burger today, they were excellent. updated to 5 stars

First time here , and most certainly not my last. I opted for the classic poutine and was pleasantly surprised that it looked exactly like the poster on the wall. Fast , friendly service and decent pricing. Looking forward to trying more of the menu. Also loved the fact the fries were cooling on a rack, reminded me of my time in the kitchen. Great job !! And thank you.

Today was terrible!!! A lot of hollow oily crumbs. Inconsistent fries quality and quantity is turning me off this place. Last time was very small and way too salty. Sometimes they are refried and too oily. I mean they are fried to be partially cooked, and then fried again to finish cooking. This is absolutely true.

Top notch burgers here. Similar to the Five guys burgers but less soggy and you won't feel as thirsty afterwards. Fries are quite good here too (imagine the five guys fries without the cajun spices). Service here is decently quick and efficient and friendly as well. Will definitely be back and regularly for these scrumptious burgers.

Fresh burger is like the no frills of burgers, you have 4 options single burger, double burger, prime burger and double prime. They all come dressed with the fixins, Mayo, Ketchup, lettuce, onions, tomato, pickle. I added caramelised onions, and sautéed jalapeño, to my double Prime burger It was a great burger I have to say. Hot melted cheese, onions caramelised to perfection. It was a big burger.... I didn't need that much of a burger. The fries are blanched and then deep-fried giving them fluffy insides and crispy outside. Drinks are as simple as the burger options, cans of what ever you want or a bottle of water. It was pricey I have to say, 24$ for burger, fries, drink and a side of gravy, but you get what you pay for.... a good burger! I'll be back for a smaller burger for sure, the first was fantastic.

Good poutine but I wasn't a fan how they leave their fries on a rack all day during COVID. May have not cared pre-covid, but not reassuring now. Burger was salty.

A great place for a burger. This location isn't accepting dine in right now, but they're still really popular. The burger is pretty juicy with lots of customizable options.

One of our favourite spots for smashed burgers. This time the ground meat lacked flavour inside, however, it was still very fresh and definitely satisfied our craving for a fresh burger. we could taste the fats and oils of the patty in every bite 👅 Their fries are also very fresh and have the perfect amount of salt and crisp!

I ordered a poutine with bacon and as I dug deeper to eat, I found two pieces of I think, eyelash or eyebrow hair. I'm 100% sure they weren't mine because I would have seen it fall. These hairs were embedded in the gravy and not on the surface.

Decent food. Food hygiene is disgusting at this location.

Simple. Good.

There are four burger choices plus many toppings, fries and poutine. That is it! But they do it well. The cheeseburger had crispy edges, plenty of pickles and a good bun. It was perfectly sized at 4 ounces. I know nothing of poutine other than that I Freshburger's to be both messy and really tasty.
There aren't even water or soda fountains, it's all bottles and cans. Nothing on the walls other than the menu, plain tables. It sounds like it should be awful but it actually fit perfectly. Really enjoyed it.

Today was a very busy day for me. I had some medical errands to run and had to go back to work. My colleagues had proposed this burger place called "Fresh Burger" and agreed to join them. Even though we love the selection of Asian restaurants in the Hwy 7 and Leslie area, we had no objections with burgers. I came here before back in 2013 when it first open. However, today was the first time blogging this place.

We finally got to check out this infamous burger joint in markham. I got their original burger with cheddar and it was very basic and good. It had a good amount of grease and their patty was moist. The only complaint I have is their buns can be better, more soft and moist. They could even butter their buns to add some flavor. It is a decent burger but I won't be craving it.

Great little burger joint; somewhat of a hidden gem in R-Hill if you're into burgers (which I'm not crazy about). Their fame is in their name; the burgers here are fresh indeed, and juicy and tender. Their Freshburger sauce reminds me of Big Mac secret sauce — you dunno what's in it, but it leaves you wanting more with every bite! I added mushrooms in my burger, and with a side of fries, I was done for the night.

The best burger in Richmond Hill. Juicy meat and fresh vegetables. Fries are very good too. Simple menu with fresh ingredients. The price is right too.

Hot and fresh. I had the Freshburger (4 oz) combo (including fries and can of pop; $8.95) and added bacon ($1.00). The burger is definitely better than at fast food places, and the fries were nicely done too. Are there better buglers around? Yes. However this a decent, basic, fresh burger.

Best in Richmond Hill. It may not be able to compete with Holy Chuck but as far Richmond Hill goes, there is not a better a burger.

Okay, is strictly worse than hero burger. Processed cheese. Fries and bland. Soft drinks in cans. Meat and bun nothing to write home about. Atmosphere okay - clean but dull.

The best burger in town!. I love burgers! I absolutely loooove Fresh Burger! The moment you bite into the juicy burger you will know how fresh and delicious it is! They really try to keep it simple. They only have burgers and fries. Love it! Love it! Love it!

Fake reviews. The reviews written by Megachef and Mrfearinhd are fake. Megachef is a used restaurant equipment dealer who missed out on an equipment deal with Fresh Burger and he is going online writing negative reviews to get even and asking some friends to join him. He has never been to Fresh Burger. I would like to ask the folks at Urban Spoon to investigate their reviews with the view of deleting them. I can supply names, phone number and email addresses. Thank you.

Didnt really like it. Poor service. Wasn't very welcoming. The Greece from the burger seemed to deep right into the patty from the beginning.

Great food. Order ahead for pickup

Nice place an atmosphere. Good straight forward burger at a good price & the fries are really good. Want to try their poutine & other two burger options. Close to the office so I'll definitely be back for more.

Obnoxious Owner. The burgers are good, but the owner is the most obnoxious man I have met in a long, long time. He starts lecturing me on how "He is not Harveys" just because I did not tell him my toppings before hand. Tells me, "there is no burger place that will ask you what you want on your burgers, it's clearly spelled out in the menu" Makes a big scene and was completely rude to me. My husband used to pick up burgers at least once a week, never again. I can live without Fresh Burger, NOT WORTH THE ATTITUDE IN MY OPINION!!!!

Richmond Hill Joint. Fresh Burger is by far one of my favourite places to go for my burger fix. They serve fresh AAA sirloin steaks, that are grinded in the restaurant. $7.99 for a cheese burger combo, cheapest and freshest restaurant out there.
Barnfeline
Delicious fresh made burgers, friendly service, and the best poutine outside of Quebec-- fresh cheese curds from Montreal!

Being hungry as always, my husband and I ordered the 6 oz prime burger and the double freshburger (2 patties) combo with the poutine. Both burgers were cooked to our liking, the beef was flavourful and extremely juicy. The poutine however did not stand out to me; the gravy, cheese and fries tasted like a dish I would get at other fast food restaurant chains.

The special appeal about “Fresh Burger” is that all of their burgers are made on site and fresh every single day. None of that frozen stuff! They use fresh Canada AAA sirloin that is ground daily on-site.

One of their go to places for burgers is Fresh Burger . The picture really speaks for itself. This is the Combo #1: Freshburger with all the fixings (4 oz beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Freshburger sauce), drink, and they upgraded their fries to the Poutine (which is fries covered with cheese curds and gravy) and California Fries (which is fries covered with sweet sauteed onions, cheese, and secret sauce). California fries are not featured on the menu but highly recommend it.

The uptown location was a perfect lunch stop between Saturday errands. Fresh Burger is located in a strip mall next to a Tim Horton’s. The walls are painted a bright red and menus are prominently displayed...

I opted for their freshburger (4 oz) combo which came with fries and drink ($8.85). If you'd like to upgrade your fries to a poutine; it's an additional $2.99. All of their burgers are dressed with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Freshburger sauce. You can also request them to add onions and pickles for no additional charge. Other toppings that you can add onto your burger for an extra $1 each is bacon, caramelized onions, sautéed jalapeño, mushrooms or cheese ($1.50). I liked the soft bun and how the burger patty was lightly seasoned. They lightly seasoned their beef patties with salt while it's on the grill. It was a tasty burger and I'd definitely come back to check out the other items on their menu.

What a concept. A burger place that is focused on the platform (the burger) rather than the myriad of condiments/concoctions that drown out the fundamental building block on which they construct these monstrosities. But don't get me wrong, a well executed monstrosity is still a very tasty thing. Kavafian is following a template used by Southwest Airlines. Founded on 4 basic tenets; Equipment (in this case the burger not an airplane), Price (make it as inexpensive as possible without cuttin

I tried out their Fresh Burger combo with an upgrade of the fries to poutine. Poutine was pretty decent, lots of gravy and cheese!...For those living uptown, no more driving down to mid/down town for a juicey burger! Cheers!

Fresh Burger is frustrating. One small change could instantly transform it from a very good burger into a great one, and place it on a shortlist of the GTA’s best burgers. But it is what it is, and despite my one fairly substantial reservation, it’s still quite tasty and certainly worth eating.

Not a bad place to eat whatsoever but it just wasnt memorable enough to me.

When you walk in, you order at the counter and they will wall you after a couple of minutes with your order. Their mantra is to use FRESH patties (made from Canada AAA sirloin) that are ground on site, every day. Agreeably, their patties are very fresh - when I bit into it, it was very moist and you could definitely taste a difference. The fries were mediocre. Not crispy enough in my opinion but they were fine. While the patties were deliciously fresh, I don't think I'd go out of my way to go to Fresh Burger.

My favourite burger joint in the city. This place is always busy but worth the wait. Simple but super tasty burgers and the California fries and poutine are great compliments to it. Highly recommend.

Fresh Burger had opened about a year ago in Richmond Hill but I only heard about the restaurant recently. The restaurant is in a quiet plaza near Tim Hortin’s and can be easily missed if you were driving in the area. As I stepped in, I noticed several tables for dining in and a large poster of the combos plastered on their wall for easy ordering.

The philosophy at Fresh Burger by founder Jacques Kavafian is an “uncomplicated burger” that is focused on the taste of the hamburger. Their daily fresh ground burgers are made with 100% lean Canadian AAA Sirloin. Being hungry as always, my husband and I ordered the 6 oz prime burger and the double freshburger (2 patties) combo with the poutine.

Since we knew the restaurant had great meat quality, we asked to have our meat cooked medium rare. The burgers are normally cooked through but the owner gladly accepted our request and told us that the restaurant would redo our meat if it was not to our liking. Little things like this makes a restaurant stand out and we appreciated the service and consideration.

We kept our burger simple with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions and pickles with a bit of ketchup and mustard. They weren’t thick patties but were proportionate to the rest of the ingredients. Both burgers were cooked to our liking, the beef was flavourful and extremely juicy.

The poutine however did not stand out to me; the gravy, cheese and fries tasted like a dish I would get at other fast food restaurant chains. Perhaps if I got the fries plain, I would have enjoyed the taste of the crispy hand cut fries.

Overall:

The Fresh Burger’s philiosophy works. Sometimes I like a complicated burger with all the mumbo jumbo, but when I want a simple burger, this will be my place to go. Thank you for bringing a great burger joint to Richmond Hill. A great joint close to home.
