Review Fareastbistro - Revelstoke

Tala Abu Hayyaneh
Its my first time stopping at Revelstoke on the way to Vancouver, I was expecting to have disappointing dining experiences along the way as I had in the past. BUT OH MY! Chubby Funsters Kitchen will now become my go to stop anytime I am passing by Revelstoke, heck I might even drive 5 hours from Calgary just to dine here and have an amazing dining experience! The food is delicious, fresh and sophisticated in an accessible way! Meaning that my family who eats Halal was able to find items on the menu that appeased our taste and religious teachings. The staff are warm and welcoming! Parking was a breeze and it was easy to spot the location of the restaurant! Thank you Chubby Funsters! Youve earned a customer for life!

I didn’t actually expect much because it was on a popular street and in a popular tourist city. The chicken was Fresh,Juicy, Cooked to perfection. It gets my 5 stars. And, the receptionist was very friendly as well.

After seeing all of the excellent reviews I (and my party) were disappointed with our experience. "2 Stars - Disliked It" TLDR; When in Revelstoke take your business elsewhere, there are plenty of other well reviewed establishments that are much more worthy of your time and dollars. The theme of the evening was to take an order, come back 5-10 minutes later and tell us they actually didn't have that item it stock. This started with the drink order, the order was taken, 5 minutes later the server came back and told us they no longer had the drink available. No alternatives were suggested. No matter we'll look over the menu and try again. Next came the main course, the order was placed, 10 minutes later the server comes back and informs us that they don't have the one of main courses available. Keep in mind this is a small restaurant (the size of modest main floor home), the menu is two pages long and we were there at 6:30pm on a weekday. Again no alternatives suggested, so back to the menu we go to find something else to order. The speed at which the food came out was acceptable and the accuracy was spot on (assuming you eventually found something they actually had). I had the Chubby burger topped with cheese, fried pineapple and "poutinized" my fries. The portion size was on the smaller side, no overly so, but noticeable. The burger was very good, however the poutine was bland and the fries soggy. The final annoyance of the night was the bill. I don't like being nickeled & dimed by restaurants and however I don't mind paying a fair upgrade charge. In my case the burger included my choice of side. Looking at the "sides" portion of the menu the choices were: Tater Tots $2.99, Poutine $3.99, Caesar Salad $3.99, Panzanella Salad $3.99, Rice & Beans $3.99, Confit Potato $2.99). Imagine my surprise when I see the "upgrade" charge for the poutine was $2.99. Seriously, 3 bucks to add gravy and cheese on the fries. Fair enough, I should've asked. But then another member of my party added the confit potato to their order and here they were charged full price $2.99 instead of an "upgrade" price. If you're going to charge full price, then the entrée should've also come with the "side" that is included in the price as well. At this point my patience has worn thin and it is clear for us to cut our losses, pay the bill, leave and share a detailed review for others to take their business elsewhere.

Got takeout here. Awesome food options! The beef deep was great - loved the caramelized onions with the red wine braised beef brisket.

This place was awesome! A very laid back atmosphere and our server Nick was extremely personable, engaging in conversation about the area and the food. We ordered the "Stuffed Yorkies" to start, the my partner got the "Beef Dip", and I ordered the "PB&J Burger" (Nick told us that was his favorite and suggested adding the locally made bacon to it, so I did.) All the food was phenomenal! My burger was a little messy but so delicious, the bacon was definitely worth adding as it was a nice thick cut and cooked well! (Not too crispy, but not too chewy either) I would come back to Revelstoke just to eat here again! Definitely worth checking out if you are in Revelstoke!

Tasty food. Unusual takes on comfort foods, but good. Apparently their kitchen is peanut free, which is nice ( the PB&J burger uses Almond butter). The summer linguine was superb. Can't wait for the rootbeer ribs to come back!

Everything was so incredibly good! The vegan watermelon steak and carrot cake were surprisingly wonderful. The Apple pie was amazing (the caramel was heavenly). The bison burger was the best burger I've ever had, even if you're not big on goat cheese I would still get it (and get it with the tater tots because omg those are so good. The yorkies were great too. The service was also good, everyone was really nice.
