LOVE this place!!! I am Celiac and have eaten here several times and have never had a reaction! Their gluten free crust is fantastic and I appreciate that all of their toppings are gluten free! The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about cross-contamination. I recommend this place if you're looking for a great meal and dinning experience.
I also love their little patio!
For someone who had eaten pizza all his life; Famoso is a breath of fresh air. The variety and savory selections make it a great choice, the fact that it's a lighter pizza, with a thin crust is a bonus all around for someone a little more health conscious. When you choose to scrap the diet for a day, the appetizers are a natural selection... on and the flatbread and Tzatziki.. oh and the meatballs..... it’s all good!
My husband and I went to Famoso for our 1st anniversary last night. We ordered a Margherita pizza to share (not knowing it was on special, score) and it was amazing. It was bursting with flavour, from the creamy tomatoes to the melting cheese and that crust is to die for. We added roasted mushrooms which really put the pizza over the top. We paired the pizza with a couple cold beers and followed up with a Nutella dessert pizza, which is probably the most amazing dessert idea ever. Apparently the 1st anniversary is the paper anniversary, but I much preferred our pizza anniversary.
I had a great meal at Famoso's! In my opinion, they have the best pizza in Regina. I had the veggie primavera pizza with Daiya vegan cheese (this cheese was at no extra cost...yay!). Thank you for having such a great menu full of options for everyone. Though there was a long wait to get a table, it was worth it in the end...the drinks made time go by quickly ;)
I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the sunshine while sitting on their spacious patio. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and made sure that my glass was never empty. My order arrived quickly and was as delicious as always. It's a delight to find tasty authentic Neapolitan pizza while on the road and Famoso does it right. Can't wait to go back on my next trip.
Amazing food !!! And the best service we have had in a long time anywhere !!! DOUG was so kind and helpful ! He made the best suggestions ! Even though they were closing up he made sure to tell us not to feel rushed !! Amazing experience thanks to Doug !! And the food was great to
Great service, staff was friendly and had such a great experience. Had the shrimp pesto pizza - definitely recommend
only ordered a drink and some seasoned olives but i fell in love with my waitress so all in all it was the greatest dining experience i've ever had
btw waitress with the brown hair and freckles if you're reading this i will marry you right now have your people contact my people and we can get the ball rolling
I order food from Famoso... more than I should admit. Amazing staff, my food only takes a few minutes and delicious every time.
Best place to try thin crust pizza in Regina. You can’t go wrong.
Came in to try as they are participating in the Regina Restaurant week. Staff are prompt, nice ambiance and yummy food. Love their pizza, very light and tasty. Pasta w meatballs tastes bland tho. Could use more salt. But otherwise service is good.
I love love love pizza. I built my own with pepperoni, Italian ham and cherry tomatoes. It was a delicious pizza! The crust was thin, soft and moist in the middle and chewy and charred along the edge. The sauce was good and there was lots of ingredients on it. Alex was very friendly and chatty.
My wife and I were downtown on Sunday for massages at Just for You. Our usual spot for dinner was closed so we decided to try Famoso. The dining room is very nice and staff attentive. I like that it has an open concept kitchen where diners can view the pizza oven and cooks tossing dough into the air. The restaurant seems to be a nice addition to downtown. For dinner I chose the Famoso salad. I would typically choose one of their pizzas but decided on something light since I had a volley ball game to play later that evening. It was really tasty. I was surprised at how well the sliced salami worked in a salad. I am typically not into chain restaurants and even though I love Regina style pizza the city needs a thin crust option. I will be sure to give it a shot the next time I have the opportunity and update this review.
Love the pizza, decently priced drinks, amazing dessert pizzas! Love the atmosphere as well. Nice place. I'll definitely be back for date night or girls night, or their lunch special.
Love! Food is great and affordable. Sometimes the staff needs to be a little more attentive, however, I think lately I have been served by mostly new hires. Until recently they have been rocking the good food/good service balance, but just the other day I waited for nearly 20 minutes with my bill before my server came with the machine (in non-peak hours). However, the owner is nearly always there and is very engaged with the customers and the business, so I'm sure this will work itself out. Mad respect.
If you haven't eaten here yet, it is a must. The lunch specials are killer.
We have eaten here a few times. I really like the pizza. My husband likes pizza with four inches of stuff on the top so he isn't so keen. Don't sit at a table with those metal chairs. They are the most uncomfortable chairs. Good if they want you to leave quickly! I've only ever had the Margarita. But that's because I like it. Others I've eaten with have had different pizzas and salads and have always enjoyed them.
I think it's a good place to go with a group of friends if you're not in a hurry to eat. It says the pizza cooks in 90 seconds but it takes an hour to get your food! My husband says they want you to spend money on drinks while you
wait.
I like it. There is one opening near us. I'd happily go back but my husband says he doesn't like waiting an hour and a half for his meal. I'll go with someone else!
Great atmosphere, great authentic pizza, and great service. Seeing a manager/owner take ownership of his establishment, and helping out, shows a commitment to a great product that they know they have. I have tried every pizza, red or white, plus their dessert dishes. All great, all good value. Highly recommended and awesome to have more options in downtown Regina, especially at night!
I am obsessed with this place. I love the pizza, the hummus and the panacotta is UNREAL. SO amazing, and I can't wait to go again. Definitely one of my favourite down town places to get food
I really like the food here. It's tasty, good value, and their beer selection is excellent. Their service, however, is suspect. I always have to wait a long time awkwardly at the door before being seated. I do not appreciate that.
We had a great time here. The food was great, the drinks were great and the service was amazing. I would go back for sure. When we walked in we found seats at the bar, there was only the 2 of us so we thought we would wait until we got a table... decided after waiting a while to just order and eat at the bar because there were still 3 couples ahead of us. The servers were friendly and did a great job and the pizza was amazing.
Only Criticism is that I couldn't make a reservation for 2 people, which I can understand why a restaurant doesn't want to do that but it would have been nice but eating at the bar works when there is just the 2 of you. If you had 3-5 people you would be waiting 45 minutes or more to eat at a table that you can talk to each other at because you can only make reservations for parties of 6 or more. It was slightly annoying, that's all.
Other than the wait time for a table everything else was great. Other restaurant owners should go eat there and take notes on how to give people great service.
I've had the pineapple and Ham pizza going on 4 times now, it has always been perfect and to my expectations since the last time. I think they're reasonably priced for what you are getting. Really great food!
My second review after 4 visits. I absolutely love the food here. We've always had really great servers too. The pizzas are fresh and just to die for. We decided to go really early being as it was close to Christmas and the lunch crowd was likely going to be big. Arrived at 11:30 a.m. and had to sit up at the bar. We didn't mind at first, until all of the people waiting to be seated were right behind us--like 2 feet away. It was very uncomfortable and less than appealing when one of the men waiting was hacking and blowing his nose--almost right in my ear. Needless to say, I didn't finish my meal. I hope they open another (BIGGER) location soon. One thing I noticed is that there were lots of couples sitting at tables for 4. Those couples should be seated at the bar and the tables of 4 should be saved for 4 people. Just my opinion.
Really liked this place for a late dinner a few weeks ago. Had the margherita - as I do pretty much every time I spot it on a pizza menu. Frankly anyone can do crazy, creative, loaded pies. It takes skill to do simple right, and Famoso did. Would have been 4.5 or 5 if the crust was a bit more crisp. Not sure how much that is a point of style or execution though.
Great atmosphere, great staff, and amazing food. My co workers and I got there quite often for lunch. I highly recommend the sweet bbq chicken pizzetta! Yum!
This pizza brought me back to my time in Italy. Be aware that Italian pizza is not the same as most pizza's in Regina. It has a thin crust and few toppings. I ordered the simplest pizza there was to get a real idea of how well they do pizza. Just tomato sauce, cheese and basil. It was delicious. I will undoubtedly be going back again. The gelato is also a great treat.
Great place. I like the open atmosphere. Pizza is sublime. A tad on the expensive side, but worth it. Parking always sucks downtown, but right in the East Hill tower is a sweet location.
Let me just say I have toured all over Italy and this is the closest thing to the real deal as I have come across in North America! From atmosphere to service, flavours to decor, Famoso nails it! I performed a solo-dine and Sydney, the waitress, was sure to take the time out of her busy shift to stop and visit, really making me feel like I wasn't alone at all. Further, the part-owner/assistant manager Kerry was passionate about his service, food, and staff (he even comped me a free Affogato for dessert!). For my 3-course meal I enjoyed the Marinated Mediterranean olives [$6, 8.5/10], followed by Cavoletti pizza [$15.75, 9.5/10] paired with Rebellion Amber Ale [$6.25, 8/10], finished with the fantastic (and free Affogato) [10/10]. Hand-tossed by the army of pizza soldiers and flash baked in the scorching hot clay oven, the crust has the thin crispy outside with the ooey gooey warm inside of an authentic Italian pie. Hands down, best spot I've been in the city! 10/10 would go again!
Great real authentic Italian pizza very reasonably priced. Great environment walking distances to lots of other watering holes. Friendly staff check it out!
This was an awesome experience from start to finish! The pizza is nothing but heavenly! There is a gluten free menu and the staff was very accommodating about diet restrictions!
Had a great time here with a bunch of fiends and family. Great food and atmosphere. Get a reservation, especially if in a larger group because it is packed all the time. Beware of Vesuvius!
Best lunch combo you can get for the price you pay. $10.95 for pizza and a side! Was absolutely delicious. The Tomato Bisque was to die for as well. Will definitely be back!
Good pizza especially the tomato sauce! Outside of crust thick and very hard to chew or cut with a knife, inside bottom gooey
2nd best in Regina
The pizza is possibly the best that you can get in this province. One of my favorites is the white pizza topped with fresh arugula, Parmesan and prosciutto. The crust is thin and the toppings are fresh. Desserts at also very good and they serve gelato (which is not that easy to get in Regina). The only down side is that the oven is not wood burning and the pizza does not have the smokiness you would get in a wood burning oven. Despite this the pizza is still outstanding. The place is at a good location downtown and stays open later than many of the downtown restaurants. Service was very good when we were there but a friend of mine had some minor service concerns the day that he went. Overall, this is an excellent addition to our downtown.
